Turkey and Avocado Sandwich on Toast
    Kamou M.

I friend treated me to the one in Bethesda a couple months ago. Decided to try the one in Old Town closer to home. Nice pleasant atmosphere, good service, and a delicious toasted turkey avocado sandwich for lunch. Was looking for a bagel and locs with cream cheese but the sandwich made the cut. Will add this to my rotation.

I was surprised to see this was a local chain with a handful of locations. Garage parking is the option. If you go to Wegmans (across the street) and pick up an item you can get a validation. Semi busy on a Monday late morning around 11. Spacious with modern decor and high ceilings. They have an abundant number of options. Overwhelming in a good way. We ordered a Croissant, Pain Au Chocolat, Brownie and Apple Streusel. All were excellent with the Streusel standing out. Enjoyed my Skim Cappucino also. Service was quick with friendly people working behind the counter. Worth the stop for tasty coffee and a great variety of plates/bowls, sandwiches, salads and baked goods. I haven't been into a Tatte I didn't like! Loved coming here on a Saturday in the late afternoon. No line and we could sit outside! Enjoyed my drink and they were very accommodating! The guy who was making our drinks asked if we liked more chai or more milk! How lucky were we?! I'll definitely come back and relax there. I want to grab one of those cute sweater shirts too!

I am a Big Tatte fan and always enjoy my brunches and snacks here! My friends and I had a nice experience at this Tatte in a very cool little alcove in Tenleytown. As usual, the staff were very kind and attentive. Great service! The Meze breakfast was a huge highlight. I loved the unique spreads that went perfectly with the sesame-coated Jerusalem bagel, especially the whipped feta. The Shakshuka was also a star! I wish the bread has been grilled a bit better--it was too soggy. I was let down by the carrot cake, which was stale. But the pain au chocolat was a stunner! We love to see it. This is a great, clean, and delicious brunch place! Excited for more!

A group of friends and I went to the I Street location yesterday after running the SC Rock and Roll 5K. I love Tatte and have been to the one in Bethesda and Wisconsin Ave since they have come to DC area. Their food is always on point and I typically get goodies to go. My favorite are the kouign amann which they were out of yesterday. I also love this House latte. My visit yesterday I got the salmon and egg breakfast sandwich with house latte. My main issue with Tatte is seating. Trying to get a seat can be tricky and you have to be patient if you want to dine in.

Another Tatte has opened here a few days ago. Top of the line pastries and bread with excellent coffees here. Eat at inside and/or outside tables. Price-wise a little high but each foods I got were excellent. Just in front of newly opened Wegman's and now we have great choice for a breakfast or little sweet time.

This Tate opened not long ago in a newly developed area south of the Tenleytown metro - still developing actually - with several all new apartment buildings and more restaurants and retail stores to come. It's in a nice modern space a cross from a huge Wegman's, with plenty of counter and table seating both in and outdoors. The breakfast menu is mostly sandwiches but the bakery is quite good - they have my favorite bakery item - the palmiere, the best I've seen in DC area bakeries so far, thin, flakey and super buttery. The apple turnover not bad either. Not cheap at $4 each but worth the splurge.

Oh my goodness!!! The smell as soon as you walk into the cafe is heaven!! I love the aroma of fresh coffee and bakery treats. It's a huge wide variety of what to get and eat. I wanted something light for breakfast because I was going to an interview this morning. Being a New Yorker and seeing the different flavors of cheesecake I had to try it since I'm a Juniors lover!! The first bit was to die for!!! I couldn't even wait for my coffee because it was gone in no time!!! The latte is very rich! Next time I may have to ask for extra syrup but it was still delicious. The customer service is amazing and great! The scenery and sitting is great! I'll definitely be back to visit and try some more of their amazing selection of food and drinks.

I got a black sesame latte and pastry, both were very unique and tasty. The interior design is very grand and photogenic, great for Instagram pictures! The cashier was very sweet after we asked for her recommendation between two chocolate pastries we were trying to decide on, she enticingly described the layers of the one she convinced us to choose..it did not disappoint, she did a good job convincing us

Getting here was an interesting experience. It is in an apartment complex (one of those mini city communities). We parked in a neighborhood nearby and walked over. Both of the sandwiches we ordered were really good! Coffee and tea was OK, nothing remarkable. However the pastries were remarkable! We got a few pastries to go and they were very good. Servers were kind. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Order at counter & choose seat vibe. We did not have to wait in line to order.

Inedible chicken from the Harvest Salad; too chewy; threw it all away

How can you serve RAW eggs? The temperature of both menu items Savory French Toast and Fattush Salad were not safe. 1.) The Savory French Toast had RAW EGG YOLKS and "end of the package" bacon. It was SOOO disappointing from the last time I ordered this. That time it was in the morning... maybe a manager was overseeing the chef so it was high quality then??? Today's DoorDash order was unacceptable! 2.) The Fattoush Salad was inedible with its chewy croutons and mushy blocks of feta cheese. The roll was cold... it was as if they made the salad earlier today then realized the feta cheese was not cold so they put it in the freezer??? There was an abundance of herbs dumped all throughout the salad. Yuck 3.) The latte with vanilla syrup tasted like warmed vanilla syrup milk. Where's the coffee??? What is going on with the lack of care given to preparing good quality food at THIS location? RAW EGGS ARE NOT SAFE!!!

First time trying Tatte's-Lovely cafe. Food was delicious-def need to add extra egg for the sandwich to balance the bread ratio. Brownie was perfect and cheesecake wasn't bad. I will def go back.

They are open until 1 PM on Saturdays, we reached at around 11:30 AM and I was half hoping for them to be out of most items. Fortunately, even though they were super packed, we were able to find all of the items we were looking for - thanks to the hard working staff as they continue to make their pastries until closing - unlike so many other bakeries these days that make a certain amount and call it a day! Now to the food, everything we had was absolutely phenomenal! I am not a donut person but I loved theirs as they were very flavorful and weren't too sweet. I definitely prefer their Ube and Pandan over the Black sesame donut. The Matcha chocolate croissant and the Ube Kouign Amann were my favorites of the bunch! I cannot recommend them enough, this will surely be my first stop every time I am in DC!

It must be said that I received the items cold and tasted them cold and reheated. Matcha Chocolate Twice Baked croissant - 6/10 - this rating is about my personal taste, not the quality of the croissant. I'm sure this is a matcha lovers dream and I was impressed by how much filling was in the croissant, especially considering the filling didn't affect the texture of the bread. This was good cold but even better reheated. Bread still had a crunch and the filling consistency was great, but again just not my thing. Strawberry milk - 10/10 - can I curse real quick ? £#%K this was delicious. I could put this filling on just about anything and be satisfied. It was rich but not overly sweet and paired really well with the pastry. I do not know how they manage to have the pastry keep its shape with the amount of filling they're putting inside but I appreciate it. The pastry has a great bite to it and the pearls and frosting adding a slight contrast to the texture was needed because too much of one texture creeps me out. I took a look at their menu and absolutely want to try their cookies the mango sweet tart, and the Ube Cheese Kouign Amann so I will be back !

I had absolutely no plans on buying or eating cake that day, but as a cake lover stuff happens. It was such a cute building the pastries had to be everything! It turned out to be the perfect stop. 1. The looks The building itself is so cute on the outside, and being a fan of the color pink, it instantly caught my attention. Inside, it feels less like a fast, high volume bakery and more like an intimate cake boutique. It gives small town where the owners know you by your first name. You can feel that real love was put into the space and the baking. Tasted like every ingredient was hand mixed, every cake hand frosted, and every cookie carefully hand scooped. They even served my slice of coconut cake on a real plate, which was such a cute, bourgeois touch that I loved. 2. Service The hospitality here is top-notch. On my first visit, yes you heard me! Lol! The gentleman Eric who rang me up was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different cookie and cake flavors. I ended up returning the very next day, and although he wasn't there, the other two staff members working which included Mikaela were absolutely delightful and so kind. The young lady told me her daughter loves the carrot cake as well and Mikaela said they started working there because they loved the patties so much! 3. The Cakes -Coconut Cake: This slice was so delicious, fluffy, and airy that it instantly reminded me of being a kid at holiday family meals with a fresh coconut cake on the table. -Carrot Cake: It was everything you want a carrot cake to be. It was nice and dense yet soft, with a pleasant texture from the added fruits. Definitely noticed pineapple bits! The cream cheese frosting wasn't overly thick and was so good you could eat it completely by itself. -Strawberry Cupcakes: I stole a small bite of my son's. unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. The frosting had a little chemical taste to it but it was a super cute cupcake. To answer your question, will I return? Absolutely! If you are in the DC area or planning a trip there soon, check this spot out. It truly feels like a mom and pop or pop and pop boutique. Not a bakery but a BOUTIQUE! Check them out! I was so excited to try some of these harder to find pastries. I had a Turkish beef börek and a cheese finger börek. They warmed them up for me, but they still weren't very warm - I'd probably ask for them to warm them up twice next time. The beef börek was good; the cheese finger börek was good, too, if maybe a teensy bit dry. I also got one of their signature coffees. While these coffees sound interesting and delicious and creative, I wish there an option or two that weren't as sweet. I tried the Sultan's Velvet, which was just way too sweet for me. Next time, I'll stick to a classic coffee - an americano or a cappuccino - since they have it all. There's quite a bit of seating - some downstairs, some upstairs, and some outside. I sat down and read my book while I enjoyed my pastries. It's definitely the kind of place that is comfortable to sit and enjoy. The customer service was friendly and fast. Overall, I'm glad I stopped by Caspian Crust. Georgetown is lucky to have several pastry shops/bakeries, but Caspian Crust is different and stands out. Its focus on Turkish and Azerbaijani pastries means that there's something for everyone - some classics for those folks who like what they like with their coffee, more savory pastries with meat or cheese or olives, and some sweet but less common pastries as well. Great flavors and variety. It's also cozy, comfortable, and casual, with good customer service. I'd be happy to return.
