Came for the fish & chips. Very good. The chips are very crispy coated French fries. My favorite! We are spoiled by Monterey CA clam chowder so we would choose a different side next time. But let me get back to the brat part of the meal.... Drum roll please ... Irish Nachos. Oh my heavens where have you been all my life?!? House made kettle chips, covered in corned beef, mozzarella cheese and then a mild horseradish sauce and green onions. We both were eating them with both hands. Had a good laugh on that visual. Busy on a Friday night. They were flipping tables left and right! Fish and chips were spot on! The pizzas were great. As an avid soup lover, I wasn't impressed with the Guinness and cheese soup, but my husband loved it. Definitely worth a stop when driving through the Divide. We like Mcginty's. Our first visit was in 2020 when we first moved up here. We have been coming back ever since. The prices are on the higher side for sure so we don't go there a lot. But we go back for the important stuff like food, service and atmosphere. The food is always good. We have had just about everything on the menu. Our favorite appetizer was removed from the menu several years ago but it's back! It is the Irish Nachos. You gotta try them. The server we get 99% of the time is named Brian. He is great, almost seems like a friend although we only see him at the restaurant. The ambiance reminds me of a pub back in the 70's or 80's. Which I personally like. Look, it's easy to pick out things to complain about when it comes to restaurants. I have read some bad reviews about Mcginty's. I have given bad reviews at other restaurants so I get it. However if your bad review is due to one visit I suggest that you give them another chance. My experience is that they are very consistently good. read more

We placed a takeout pizza order this week while we were in for vacation. I do have to say the pizza was great! We tend to have pizza very frequently and are always excited to find another great pizza! The cheese and sauce tasted excellent and the crust was just right with a little bit of crunch to it (which I like). We ordered pretzel as well but I didn't like the dipping cheese that came with it. Pretzel itself was good, I personally didn't like the cheese sauce. People were very polite and quick inside when we picked up our order. We got awesome Reubens along with the cheese soup. The flavor of the soup was strong, it was great. They had a few beers on tap that I tried. The Reuben was really good, loaded with meat, and filled me up quickly after a moderate hike. If the dining out experience were only about food, it would get rave reviews, but the service was horrible, which impacts the experience. We ordered the fish and chips with clam chowder which was VERY delicious. The french fries were crispy and excellent. The waiter, however, took almost 10 minutes to even come to the table, and once he delivered the food, he never came back. More beverages were never ordered, although needed, and he never checked back in. We had to give money to the busgirl to give to him, to pay the check. Only about a third of the restaurant had customers, so he wasn't extremely worked. I really loved the food , so I will come back, but if the service isn't better, I won't be back often, which is a shame, since I recently moved to the area and am looking for some staple restaurants. read more

We've been coming to McGinty's every couple of months for the past few years. We have yet to be disappointed. The Fish & Chips are always good, but they can run out if you show up too late on Saturday. The burgers are great, with locally sourced beef (PBJ Ranch). McGinty Red is my go-to adult beverage. I had their pizza for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised. Their stone pizza oven works as promised! All in all, it's a great local place for a casual bite to share with friends. Colorado Springs native here who recently (2 years ago) made the wonderful move to Woodland Park. It's been a life-changing decision, except for the food. With just a handful of exceptions, all the restaurants up here above the clouds are horrible. McGinty's is one of those exceptions!! My brother told me about how great their pizza was, but no one was in the mood for pizzas, so we had some burgers, pretzels, and salads instead. We got the food to go and ate at home so I can't really speak to the ambiance, but the service was friendly and the food was excellent. Three of the four of us thought it was hands-down the best food we have had in two years. Crisp flavorful salads with a fruity vinaigrette, juicy burgers with seasoning and flavors and texture, and a wonderful soft pretzel with a hearty beer and cheese sauce. Great job McGinty's! We will be back to try that pizza. And if you want your website fixed, look us up, we can do that for you. read more

We were a table of seven, so that means there is a service fee charged to everyone. That being the case, you can see why the server would not really feel inclined to serve, lol. We waited 15-20 minutes to get our drink order taken while other tables of 4-5 were getting waited on who came in after us. Then we waited another 15-20 minutes for our food order to be taken. After that, someone had to walk across the restaurant to get a refill. The refill was brought to that person, but the rest of us still weren't asked if we were ok and if wanted anything else to drink. However, he had no problem stopping by the booth right next to us to check up on them. Next time we saw him, he asked us if we wanted our checks. Stacked them on the table for us to figure out and disperse. Came back to take our checks, ran our cards, and again threw them down on the end of the table in a pile. Needless to say, I was more than a little put off by the "service charge" that didn't actually include much service at all (I believe the total service charge he collected was 17%, but it could have been so much more had he just stopped twice to ask about drink refills - I typically tip 25%-30%). No additional tip was left. We also heard the manager get into an argument with the people in the booth next to us because something with the food wasn't right. I definitely won't be back even if the meal was free. Also, as others have said, it's not the type of place you'd want to go if you're looking for even typical, American Irish Pub food. I was expecting more from rave reviews from some people I was hiking with and I wish I would have passed on this place. Service was slow on a Saturday afternoon, they were out of three different beers that I tried to order and I really wanted pizza but knew it would be a mistake to wait on that and so enter in the beet salad and it was pitiful. The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is their fish and chips. I had been coming here a while and enjoyed the beer and menu items including Reuben sandwiches, beer cheese soup, mandarita pizza, mac and cheese-- and their burgers with locally sourced beef which I think are the best around. What a disappointment when I finally tried the fish and chips. The fish was soggy and the fries had the texture that comes from sitting under a warming lamp for too long. Maybe this was an isolated experience but my sister who used to live in the area said the same thing. Honestly, if that's how it always is, they should take it off the menu. read more

I have a lot of patience for the service industry. I will sit for 20 minutes as long as you acknowledge me. Service was the worst I have had. Sat at the bar and four people walked by with not a word. Had to ask for someone to help us three times. Beer was started, left, then set aside by another employee. Had to ask the person that served us to please finish. Excited for the Superbowl called around our area for best wings and settled on McGintys. 3 lbs ordered so we were told 8 to 10 wings per order. Turns out we received 20 wings total. Dinner last night. Sat in the bar. Excellent, attentive service. Nice list of beers on tap. Recommend the salad which has chicken on it, Meghan's Hen Party Salad. I wouldn't have chosen that after reviewing the menu, but I saw a picture of this salad on Yelp and had to try it for myself. Really really good, loved the tzatziki sauce. The balsamic dressing, while really sweet, was a great compliment to the salty olives. The pizza was good, not particularly memorable, but good. We weren't disappointed. read more

We came while visiting on St. Patrick's Day. The Rueben is really good! I didn't care for the potato soup though. It was thin and bland. There were no pieces of potato- it must have been blended.
