I actually walked half a mile to try out McGlinn's! I was staying at Coast Wenatchee and had a craving for pizza. I found McGlinn's in Yelp and decided I would add to my steps and walk there. When I got to McGlinn's I saw that their outside seating was full, so I went inside and was led to a table. There a very friendly and helpful server took my drink order and gave me a menu. I decided on the pepperoni pizza and was happy with what I got. It was a very thin crust, luckily I prefer thin crust. My experience with pepperoni pizza led me to believe it would be soaked in pizza grease. I was surprised when there was very little grease left on the tray. read more

Wow! We had breakfast here Sunday and it was delicious. We were greeted and seated right away at a cute little table near the front window. Our server was friendly and helpful. Corina and I shared the mama Mary biscuit sandwich, Randy had the avo stack and we all shared the rosemary potatoes. Sharing the biscuit sandwich and having some potatoes was the perfect portion size. The gravy is the best I've had in ages, maybe ever. So much flavor and an excellent consistency. In my 60 years I have never tasted a better cake. For the love of god you've got to go there and try it! So moist and chocolately, and the velvety coconut topping is to die for. It's hard to review an old friend! Since returning to Wenatchee three years ago, we have cycled around to most of the haunts we frequented 15 years ago, mostly restaurants where we had made friends with the wait-staff and owners as well. Sadly, many of them have moved on. But some still remain, and encountering them again is exhilarating. I always look forward to the hugs and squealing laughter.--"...where did you go and what have you done...? We've missed you!" McGlinn's Alehouse is the place we spent most of our time for the first five years of our marriage. It was originally the Orondo Tavern, built in 1922 as a solid brick two-story commercial building in the small town rural American style--big, open storefront windows on the ground floor, and small offices and apartments on the second, with tiny windows surrounded in iron bar planters. Such buildings have long narrow internal staircases up the right side entrance--one you'd never access unless to lived in one of those vaults upstairs. I finally returned to McGlinn's tonight. I had been meaning to, long before this, but there was never any parking in front --many restaurants now have covered sidewalk-cabanas out front--a code violation waved during the COVID pandemic. Inside, the left wall is still that half-block-long cabinet of all the liquor bottles you can imagine, multiplied in depth by the mirrors behind them. Down the middle of the room is one long continuous table that seats 14 people on a side--yes, strangers sit together. At the very back wall there is still, the largest brick open-hearth wood-burning oven you'd ever bake a leg of lamb and two pizzas in, at the same time. And down the right side-wall were six wooden tables-of-four, all sealed in a hard resin clear coat, as shiny and clean as they were vintage and rustic. I sat in the first chair at the first table, my back to the stairway down to bathrooms in the basement below the sidewalk. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tim's chips, a departure from the "John Paul Bacon Burger with pickled onions (McGlinn's is famous for). Ask to sit in Sadie's section--she's been there 20 years. Great and friendly service, our waitress was very attentive! Definitely a bar and grill type of vibe. I came with my boyfriend and mom and we all loved our dishes, my mom got the steak, boyfriend got a pizza, and I got the chicken cranberry sandwich. All very different dishes, so I'd say this restaurant is pretty versatile. The chicken cranberry sandwich was very unique in flavor, but everything worked so well together and was very fresh 10/10! Can't forget dessert, with the lime cheesecake and it was so creamy 9/10. Highly recommend this spot, I'll definitely be back to try more! read more

You can tell by the picture what matters to me most and it's MASHED POTATOES - these were excellent sometimes garlic mashed potatoes are either too salty or too much garlic *dodges thrown shoe* but not here The salmon was prepared well but it was hoping it would have a little more of a kick. For me though it was the service and vibe that made me feel comfortable talking with family and enjoying a meal. I've been a regular customer of Mcglinns for a while now and they always meet the mcglinns expectations. Today I was surprised when I received a burnt pizza, the undercarriage of the pizza looked okay, but the top was burnt to the point the cheese looked a dark brown and the whole pizza was uncomfortable to eat because of how hard the entire crust was. That being said the ingredients were of great caliber and the execution was just off tonight, I hope to come again and for mcglinns to meet the standards they have set here in the valley. Very friendly service. We ordered the spicy Tuscan pizza. It had nice heat! I honestly wasn't a fan of the crust though, it reminded me of something store bought. No flavor and a little rubbery. McGlinn's Public House is such a fun spot in Wentchee to dine at with live music on the weekends, friendly staff, delicious food and is located in a historic building. It's one of the more popular places to eat at in Wenatchee, and I can see why after checking it out. We came here on a Sunday night and there was live music playing out on the patio, which is where we wanted to sit since we had our dog with us. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table to open up as this place gets busy on the weekends. The building used to be a pool hall and housed a Wenatchee baseball team on the upper level back in the day. Our server said it's haunted in some areas, which she has personally experienced...so kind of spooky! The menu features different, classic items to choose from like burgers, sandwiches, salads and a handful of entrees with beers and wine. My partner ordered the ribeye plate while I had the caesar salad with smoked salmon and a side of clam chowder soup. Everything was tasty. The clam chowder was nice and thick, with chunks of seafood. And the caesar salad was a huge portion with lots of smoked salmon. I can see why McGlinn's is so popular after checking it out as it has solid food and fantastic service. We're here for a soccer tournament and I was nervous about finding a legit restaurant, but now I'm happy and my belly is full of protein from the delicious southwest salad. We enjoy the restaurant but we decided yesterday was our last. The pizza is almost if not the absolute worst. First off hardly any sauce and could you spare a little more cheese-my god it's very small but what ever topping you choose is also nonexistent. My wife and I said no more. Costco pizza better that's how bad it is. Also please quit putting cucumber in my water. It's just not cool when your water tastes like a salad. Good clean fresh water no need to put a veggie in. Stopped in for dinner on a Sunday, was immediately greeted at the door. I elected to sit at the bar which a finished copper, with that being said it is a family friendly spot. Nostalgic pieces and photos are up on the walls. They have a wide selection of beer and wine. Their menu is unique gastro pub fair, their pizzas and burgers looked good. I went with the grilled pork chop. It was about a minute or two overdone, but the flavor was excellent, I wasn't really a fan of the root veggies (but that is personal preference,) that gravy though was tasty I'm glad I got extra. Even with the slightly overcooked chop, I'm definitely going to give this place another chance since I think mine is a one off as they were really slammed. Overall I highly recommend. read more

We had dinner out on the patio (with cozy heaters) last week, on a somewhat cool evening. The hostess and servers couldn't have been warmer on welcoming us to the patio - dog got water, pets, and treats. We were easily able to make our pizza vegan (excellent) by subbing vegan cheese and the hot spiced wine really hit the spot. The food is good and we had two of the John Paul Burgers that came with a hand pressed seven ounce beef patty, Hempler's bacon, mixed greens, cheddar, tomato, pickled onion, dill pickle, burger sauce and a side of chips. We also had the blackened ribeye 10 ounce steak with seasonal sauteed veggies, and garlic mashed potatoes. Can't forget the wood fired nachos loaded with pulled pork, roasted veggies, tomato, cheddar, mozzarella, onion, cilantro, housemade tomato and two types of tomatillo salsas. My daughter and I had an early lunch here a few days ago and it was excellent! I had the banh mi sandwich, a favorite for me. My daughter had the superfood salad and we share so we can both try things. I would order either of those again in a heartbeat. But the entire menu looked excellent, I want to return soon and try something else. My only disappointment is strictly personal. I will indulge myself in a few fries when I eat out, apparently there is no fryer. The Tim's chips are very good, no worries, but I would have had a few fries if I could have. read more

Been meaning to try this popular gem in Wenatchee and we finally got a chance during spring break when we were staying in Leavenworth for a few days. We were finding out that our spring break time is a slow time for Leavenworth and Wenatchee with many AirBnb's available and many restaurants empty in those areas. This place looked like a classic pub, very informal, and inviting. Decorations were very quaint and there are portraits on the wall that are very very old. Just checking out the wall decors forced me to ask the server to come back to us for ordering since we were studying the walls, rather than the menu. We ordered a couple pizzas, a pasta, a mac and cheese, and a sandwich. I was not too impressed with their pizza but their food was good overall. I especially liked their Lariat Coffee from Twisp, WA. read more

Excellent food here! They have unique and super delicious pizzas. Gluten free crusts available. There's a pasta dish to die for with gluten free pasta available. They had a gluten free brownie with vanilla ice cream that we all loved. Vegetarian burger options with gluten free buns. They aren't technically a gluten free restaurant but they've clued into what people in the valley are looking for. The menu isn't enormous but what they've got is really so so good and executed well. I've always had great service too. I haven't tried their outdoor eating area yet but it looks really cute with all the plants. It's a bit loud inside but never so bad you can't have a conversation.
