First impressions: the dining room is a lovely and cozy space, and the outdoor patio in the back is a verdant surprise. The atmosphere is an appropriate preparation for the aperitifs and appetizers, which I recommend (especially during happy hour!). Here for my first time because my partner had an excellent dinner recently, both of us enjoyed our way through the appetizers and cocktail menu. We only skipped the mains because of an interest in dessert. Here's the other surprise: the crème brûlée would have been worth the visit on its own. From the start things seemed off. The waitress that greeted us was the only one working the whole restaurant and she seemed a little overwhelmed. She was very nice but not very attentive due to being the only one greeting and serving. We also could hear one of the cooks complaining about personnel issues while waiting for our dinner. The food was not like any Italian food I've ever had. We ordered the artichoke dip and it was lacking flavor to say the least. I had the spicy rigatoni because I normally like the spicy sauces, but I expected a tomato based sauce and that is not what it ended up being. It had a very strange flavor like brown sugar and cinnamon. My husband had the filet mignon which he said was very salty and the best thing in the plate was the spinach. This was so overpriced for what it was. I would not recommend eating here if you're looking for an Italian cuisine. read more

We had dinner at Shakti's this evening after booking through OpenTable, unaware that only a limited Valentine's menu would be offered. The food was disappointing, with very poor choices and small portion sizes. Most concerning was the price -- the meal was extremely overpriced for what was served, and we were genuinely shocked by the bill, which came to $400 including a couple of drinks. My wife made reservations for 2/13. We were excited, since we'd been once before, and it was great. Thought we'd miss the Valentines crowd by going out a day early. Our mistake was not seeing that Friday was also part of their 'Valentines', with a limited menu...and a fixed price. What we really should have noticed were the written warnings... in large font, all over their home page, which now, in hindsight, are obviously in response to prior guest relations...No cancelations, no changes, no regular menus, no discounts, and no refunds! Instead of warm friendly inviting...cold, arrogant, and uppity. In their defense, they tried to warn us! As far as the dining experience, food, and wait staff, everything was great. The part we feel cheated on was the $400 for a $200 dinner.... $130 per person for a $50-$60 entrée, $4 bread, $9 Caesar, and a $20 desert....Yes, overpriced, and that's based off their own listed prices.. their bread is $8, their large Caesar is $18 per their own menu. Top that off with a credit card charge to add insult to injury. Really? The $130 wasn't enough to cover that with the $40 overcharge? Not to forget the percentage for the tip... lesson learned! read more

The ambiance is beautiful, the service was great and the drinks were well made. However, the food isn't worth going back for which is a real bummer given they're doing everything else so well. The "bruschetta" is sautéed tomatoes and Parmesan over baguette which quickly becomes very soggy. A traditional bruschetta of fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and basil with good quality olive oil and toasted baguette would have been sublime. We also had the calamari which tasted fishy and had so much sauce it seemed to be more of a soup. If they improve their food they will really have something special. Since food is the backbone of a restaurant it's hard to want to go back until it has improved. read more

First of all , the food was good, at least , the Rigatoni Bolognese, was. I ordered the appetizer (s), mushrooms/ the veggie dish, mashed potatoes w/ green beans. My husband ordered the rigatoni dish, as per the menu of a three course dinner. Long story short. We ordered our drinks , shortly after, ordered our dinner. It took about an hour to get the salad, then about another 45 to 60 minutes to get our dinner. The mushroom dish was a consistency of mushroom soup, the veggie dish was as mentioned above. The waitress was so busy being a bartender , that when asked where our dinner was, she said she'd check on it. Now , I do not mind having a nice dinner and especially after a long travel day, but almost two hours. That's a bit much. I don't think that appetizers and a baked pasta dish takes that long to cook. In my opinion. All in all ,we left with full bellies. read more

I have watched this restaurant vary over the years and in the past we were not so happy. However, like all businesses, it is only fair to revisit down the road and always give them another try. We have done this twice in the past month to see if it was a fluke. Both times we chose to sit outside, of course the weather wasn't as perfect as the first time outside on the back garden area. They did have heaters going for us, which was very helpful. It is beautiful in the garden area, as is the inside seating. Quite romantic actually. The four of us ordered mixed drinks and wine. The house red was decent and the drinks were complaint-free. All our meals came with a small salad with no option for a different dressing, but it was a vinaigrette with gorgonzola crumbles. Sadly, there wasn't any bread served. The new Steelhead dish was very good according to my wife, the pasta dishes were flavorful. My steak was cooked correctly, had a good green peppercorn sauce and the mashed potatoes and asparagus were good, too. Lastly, were all ordered the Crème brûlée. It was decent. The restaurant was not busy, but it did take a while to get the food, which was hot and fresh. I guess quality takes time and it was appreciated. Don't expect to dine and dash as you will have plenty of time to enjoy conversations with your party. I was surprised to see how dead it was on a Friday night. However, I for one can recommend giving this business another try if you have had a bad experience in the past. We sure have enjoyed coming back and hope the quality level remains. read more

First time there ever Saturday night. Was with a friend from out of town and had a reservation for 6pm outside. We were there from 6pm-7pm. We got water, lemon drops and bread (which were good). And then we didn't see our waitress again. I ended up agreeing with my friend that we were going to leave since no food and no waitress. I went to the hostess stand and in the interim they delivered food to our table. The waitress came up to me and said the food was delivered and "my mom" wanted to eat (was my friend but that part didn't bother me). I went back out to the table and my friend told me *she didn't say that* and was waiting for me to get the check. So I can't really comment on the food at Shakti's but the service was less than stellar (if anybody from Shakti's is reading this, lying to a customer is not a good thing). The owner replied in another review group that my friend had taken bites of her meal because she watched on cctv - she hadn't. She was picking through the noodles looking for the shrimp that was supposed to be in the dish and only found one shrimp in the whole plate. The delay might have been ok if we had been updated but as soon as I was lied to I was done and won't be back. Based on my experience with the other review group I fully expect her to reply to this one with more passive aggressive comments apologizing while still blaming us. Just know - that's really not a good look. read more

Dirty martini tasted watered down. Artichoke appetizer was good but overpriced, as were the entrees (spicy rigatoni and crab croquettes). Charged us $10 to substitute a side salad for a side Ceasar. Didn't have Syrah but the cabernet was ok. Service was decent. $160 before tip. Meh. Not "fine dining". Save yourself the disappointment and go to Olive Garden instead. read more

Pricey. Delicious. Zen environment. Great service. Tried this place tonight after Red Robin kitchen caught on fire. Was a bit worried about the prices as soon as we walked in. However, after 5 people ate fancy including a few glasses of wine, a tab of less than $300 is very digestible. We sat outside what felt like a Japanese tea garden. So green. So full of peace. The service was great. Entrees came with a delicious salad. Mediterranean touch with olives and blue cheese. The entrees came with delicious mashed potatoes and asparagus. Every entree had a little piece or two of red bell pepper as a garnish. The steak was amazing. I would eat another one in the same setting. Menu is small and unique. Prices vary from $33-65. But it is all worth it. Give it a try you will not be disappointed. Parking is right behind the restaurant. Don't be fooled by the spacious parking lot next to it as it is for the dentist office 24/7. read more

As a part of a large group - we loved our experience at Shakti's. Dining outside on the garden patio was lovely - great ambiance, a nice breeze and cooling spray kept us feeling comfortable. We had great cocktails, some from the happy hour menu. Our food was plentiful and delicious. I had the bolognese pasta. All of the menu selections that our group ordered looked well prepared and delicious. Our server was attentive, friendly and helpful. My first visit to the restaurant but people in our group visit the restaurant frequently. I look forward to returning. Shatki's is now on my list of favorite restaurants in Wenatchee. read more

I wasn't going to leave a review at all but after what transpired feel like people should be warned. My friends and I went to Shaktis for a girls night out a while back. My friend received raw chicken which made her really sick. Me and my other friend had ordered medium steaks which were rare. Customer service was not great either. I assumed it was an off night so instead of leaving a review, I emailed the owner to let her know because I thought for sure she would want to know this had happened. She replied right away blaming the waiter & the fact that the chicken was frozen & that must be why it came out raw. She offered to send something as an apology. I waited and waited and nothing came. I then kept reading negative reviews in a Facebook review group so I left a quick comment about my negative experience. The owner replied nicely again and said she wanted to send a peace offering.. then she blocked me. Before blocking me I witnessed her and her waitress calling several customers out. Bottom line this is NOT a restaurant I want to give my business to. It's not about the food as much as it is making customers feel important and heard. Their menu was a bit limited. The plates and silver was not as new or nice as I would think. It looked quite worn. The back patio like I said is gorgeous. The food was good but nothing special. It's been nearly 10 years since I first was introduced to Shakti's by a local friend in the hospitality industry. I was there for an informal business dinner and have returned at least a dozen times since both for casual happy hour experiences on the patio, and for numerous special celebrations. There are many facets of what makes a restaurant truly great (at least in my mind): Service, ambiance, and the food itself. Shakti hits on every level every time. From accommodating my freaky dietary limits, to setting up last-minute reservations (in a perfect cozy corner), I feel they go out of their way for me. But then I look around at others, and see that they're all feeling just like me. THAT is what marks the difference between a good restaurant and a great one. From my first visit, I was impressed with their Rigatoni 218 as it's got just the right balance of rich creaminess and sweet spiciness. I've returned to it again and again because it's so consistently delicious, but I thankfully get plenty of bites from my partner's plate too. This part of my email to the Owner, besides the (3) phone calls that were never returned, "To whom reads this, I writing to inform you of the catastrophe we had Thursday evening 11/4: we had a reservation for (6) people @ 5:00 We received our water and ordered our drinks about 5:05, and ordered our appetizers at that time also. The waitress was running all over the place as she did not have enough support (she was great and kept apologizing for the delays. It took 50 min. to receive our drinks It was just over 60 min. to receive our appetizers and had to send my Wife's clams back as they were Cold! not even luke--warm. Before finishing our appetizers, we ordered a second round of cocktails. After 1 hour and 20 min. we canceled the drinks and were just about to pay for the appetizers and cocktails received but as we were getting up to leave our diner showed up. 1:23 minutes from reservation time until our food arrived .... unacceptable."
