my family and i came here this evening and the woman who helped us was so rude. her customer service was terrible. we waited in line while she spoke to a guy and she immediately seemed irritated when she came to us. she explained they had a full house for the night but could let us have an hour lane which was what we came in for anyway. it became a problem when she practically threw the shoes at us and had an attitude the whole time. she even left the receipt and walked away. she made us feel like an inconvenience for walking in and didn't even tell us what lane we were in. it wasn't a good experience and to make it worse someone came from out of town to come bowling with us. so overall, the experience wasn't a good one. employees shouldn't be rude and ignore customers who pay money to come bowling. read more

I cant say enough about the service and kindness of this team. The young ladies at the desk, the Manager Becca - they are all there go help you and provide the most amazing service. The lanes are always clean - they continuously wipe down tables and remove stuff left by other bowlers -- and they do it with a smile! And - the pro shop is great too with good prices and service I highly recommend this business! read more

My family & I were very fortunate that this place was open on Christmas Day. We enjoyed a nice family outing here and were pleased that there wasn't to many people when we came. The staff was kind & attentive, but I am giving a 4 instead of a 5 star review because the restrooms were messy but regardless we enjoyed ourselves. It was nice to see there's a bar area. There wasn't a bar tender there to fix up some mixed drinks we wanted, however there was a lovely gentleman that tried his best & sold my fiancé a beer & made me a mixed drink with tequila and soda. The staff took really good care of me. I got dizzy playing too much, ate some really great pizza, had a few beers, but almost didn't make it to my car! I had taken the wrong medication before coming here. Won't be doing that again! Fortunately the staff helped me out. The ladies helped me to my vehicle and made sure my partner was driving. Made it home safe. I'm glad this place is open and hope to be back soon. This pizza is the best in California! Great environment and the staff are top notch professionals. Went back to McHenry bowl for the first time in like 10 years a little while back. It's still a super nice little spot, people seem nice, lanes were in good condition. Group next to us were crazy drunk which is fine but their kid was roaming around and freakin me out lol not the bowling alley's fault though. Anyway, it was cool to come back. I give this 4 stars because this may be a hit or miss for you depending on what you are looking for. I took my kids here on a weekday night. It was not packed which is something we liked. Games and shoes are very much affordable. Good size arcade for kids to play games. Be aware that they take tokens only not quarters or dollars. I was wasting my quarters and thought machines were broken until I seen a token machine! Lol. However the video games are not accessible all night. I belive they closed down early like around 9pm. They do have a separate bar area, bartender was friendly and had a smile on her face.. (that's a plus) I had to order pitchers of soda at the bar because the food court place wouldn't let me. Although the place is not exactly somewhere to party like other bowling alleys I have been to. It is a bit run down and in need of a face lift. However the pizzas are GREAT! Pizzas are affordable. Haven't tried any other food. But, staff is helpful and friendly. I would really like to give this place 5 stars, but I just think it really really needs some work done. I almost purchased the hourly rate and was advised not to especially with kids. It would roughly an hour maybe longer to even bowl 1 game. I'm so thankful for staffs honesty and reccomendations. It was much cheaper to pay by the game. I would so come back here just to get out of the house and let's the kids have some fun. read more

As a league bowler who attended a tournament today, this house is excellent. Lanes are consistent and well maintained, friendly and efficient customer service, clean restrooms, tasty food not expensive. From someone who takes their bowling seriously. Looking to bowl a few games with family we opted to stop by McHenry Bowl. We walked up to the counter and ordered up two lanes and grabbed some shoes. The gentleman at the register was quite helpful and very friendly. Walking over to our lanes it didn't take much to figure out the controls. Kinda a throwback to my Atari 2600. :) Once set up, the games began. Bowling is bowling but the alley shows itself how good it is when things like balls aren't returned, die in the gutter, or the pins aren't reset. The guys at McHenry took care of everyone of our issues quickly and with a smile. Sometimes with a giggle. . We ordered some pizza and, dude, I was really impressed how good it was. I mean, for a bowling alley, one expects School cafeteria type of food but that's not what we got. I'm dead serious, I would come here just for the pizza! Overall, we had a blast and the prices weren't bad. Our family had a great time and I bet you will too. Get a slice of cheese pizza as well. read more

Came here to bowl with some girl friends on a Saturday so it was respectably busy. We went up to the front and asked for one game and we're told to wait 20 minutes and they would call our name. Staff were friendly but seemed a bit overwhelmed with the work? Also seemed a bit unorganized. 20 minutes passed, we go up to ask if we were able to get our lane but we were told to wait another 20 minutes! To be fair it was a busy night, but that should've been accounted for during our wait time. Overall, had a good time and a decent place to bowl! read more

My team went there for the first time and the staff was so nice. He explained everything to us. When we were playing and the ball was gotten out of the land, another staff immediately jumped out to get it. The place is also clean. I have no complaints about this place. The only reason I'm giving this place a 2 star is because of the pin carry !!!! It's like the pins are old. After warming up my 2nd game I packed the pocket and left 8 times and each time weak 10 pin!!!! I throw a very strong aggressive ball and it wasn't enough to drive the 6 pin into the 10 pin! The 6 pin just lays into the channel. Tried 6 different aggressive balls and the same result. After the 4th game tried a urethane ball. Increased the ball speed, more of a down and in shot and finally strung 6 in a row. read more

Someone please tell my why this place has the best pizza? My family and I really enjoy coming here. We have had positive experiences every time we come whether for a birthday party or open bowling. The staff is professional and patient and although the facility is not the newest, it's maintained nicely. They have fair prices and often have specials. The only reason I gave them 4/5 starts instead of 5/5 is because of the wait for drinks at the bar (this includes non-alcoholic) on the weekend. read more

We've been here a couple of times. We like the lanes. They're much correctly oiled. The food is okay. But the deal breaker for me when it comes to a business is the customer service. Other than the male employee that helped me in the pro shop and male employee that appears to be the maintenance employee the rest of the staff is extremely poor in customer service!!! No smiles, no acknowledgements skills, no welcoming energy from these other employees. It's not bad, but it's not the best. It's not a showy/fancy/updated/modern bowling alley. But it does it's purpose. One of our lanes was having problems keeping score correctly -- it was annoying since I'm competitive and wanted my strikes and spares to count. We told staff, but when they checked it out, it started working (of course). When they left, it started cheating me points again. Oh well. The bar was crazy busy/backed up. Only 2 ladies were behind the counter and doing their best. Kudos to them. It seemed overwhelming. The pizza was good. (My work has ordered pizza from their snack bar on numerous occasions -- they are fans.) overall, the experience was not bad. Had a good time with friends nonetheless. read more

Service was really good had one of the workers help us when they seen we were struggling. The lady's at the front desk were nice and also so were the snack bar people. First visit to McHenry Bowl. We had fun! The young guy at the counter was very nice and took the time to explain the basics and I didn't feel rushed. The older gentlemen helped us set up the screen in our lane. I'm glad they open a.m. hours unlike Ten Pin in Turlock. McHB is an older facility but they're well-established in the neighborhood and the place is maintained well. I have no complaints and the staff made for an overall, great experience. I enjoyed bowling here it was okay I have been to better bowling before when arriving here thier automatic door was broken and had to be open manually. I had looked up prices everywhere before going and got there and the price was much much higher then advertised. And almost 70 bucks for bowling is crazy high price for what you get. The seating area is so small we were basically sitting on strangers. I didn't like that you are so close to others while playing you couldn't even tell which was thier ball vs yours. Very chaotic. Absolutely RIDICULOUS! Paid over $100 for two lanes, 11 people! Didn't even get to play 1 complete round on lane 10 (with 5 people) because pins kept falling over on their own, it didn't keep score half of the time and then got stuck on 1 player for almost 30 minutes! Two hours worth of issues and not a single frame completed without issues! We asked for 1/2 our money back, they obliged and then moved us. Surprise, surprise... THAT LANE ALSO WASN'T WORKING PROPERLY! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS PLACE!!! I will never come here again, nor will I ever recommend anyone else to come here. Shame! read more

This place has always been a good time. Last time we went however it was definitely run down. The bathrooms were filthy and it was just run down. The bar is a cool place to hang out and the pizza is surprisingly really good. In fact, one of the better pizza places in town. For a family run facility I was upset that the gentleman whose picture was attached was allowed to wear that sweatshirt. Plenty of employees and security guards walked by and read it. This is a place with tons of kids some enforcement is needed. So three stars is probably warranted based on this visit but four stars for all the prior visits. Went here for a company holiday party. Fairly big bowling alley that has an smaller arcade area, cantina, and food place. Side room is available for larger private parties with in-house catering available. Staff were helpful and nice. Only downside is during the day charges can be pretty expensive (charging per person per GAME, not hour). read more

Really sad because I've come here more times than I can count and hadn't had an issue. As soon as we arrived we asked if we were required to have bowling shoes, and we were told no by the person who rang us up. After 6 of us pre-paid for 3 games we were told by Ron, the apparent supervisor, we either needed to pay for the shoes or we'd be kicked out. The workers were extremely rude and unprofessional in helping us resolve the issue. Never going back here as none of the workers are on the same page. read more
