A great little garden center with lots of organic options, and brands you can't find in the big box stores. I made a special trip out here as it was the closest store in the area to carry Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, a soil many container gardeners swear by. I was also in the market for a few lights for an indoor seed starter that would allow me to grow seedlings inside without the birds devouring half my seeds before they sprout. I went on a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon and was lucky to be the only one there, so I got a lot of one on one attention, though the employee did seem a bit out of his depth on the lighting. In general, the prices are very fare as well. About a 15% mark-up versus what I could get the lights for on Amazon, but glad to support something a little more local. Because of the cost of shipping, the larger items such as the soil was actually cheaper than online retail. Will be going back. read more

This place is amazing! great selection of fertilizers and plant food that you can't find at other stores. Prices are decent. The greenhouse is wild, like walking through an overgrown jungle, you never know what you're going to find. Staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I come here all the time..It's usually a great experience. I couldn't even walk in the outdoor area today because none of the staff are wearing masks. This is dangerous to you're customers. How embarrassing to have customers walking around wearing masks but not the staff. read more

I just moved into town and was excited to visit this nursery and begin gardening in my bare yard. My initial visit was great. The staff was helpful in recommending plants and gardening supplies. One of those supplies I purchased included a shovel. I went straight home to start planting. Unfortunately, when I tried to use the shovel it immediately bent. I didn't pay that much for it so I decided to return it the same day and upgrade to a more functional shelf. When I tried to return it the manager or owner (not sure what their role was) told me they did not accept returns. When I told that it didn't work she responded that the brand I purchased was not good quality and essentially I got what I paid for. Why would you choose to sell a product that you know is no good? She finally agreed to return my money and I agreed to never shop there again. I went to tractor supply and bought a higher quality shovel for only $2 more. I am disappointed that this local nursery just around the corner from my house has such poor service. read more

I have been to McIntire's a number of times this year, and they're always helpful, especially Colln. Most recently I got some nematodes to battle lawn grubs, and all Home Depot had were several pesticide treatments, which I try to avoid wherever possible. I'd rather spend my money locally anyway, and McIntire's had just what I was looking for in a natural treatment, plus Colin explained how to use it. read more

One person made eye contact and said hello. Not the owner. I walked in with the intent of purchasing four large (min 7ft) fast growing trees or other "fence like" plants as well as a few pallets of ground covering plants for around a medium sized pond. After about 30min of walking through the entire outside portion of the lot, I went inside where all the staff and the Owner were discussing a hydroponic feature that they had. NOT ONE of them said hello, or asked if I needed anything or any help. Not one even made eye contact when I stood in front of the register area near the entryway to the "indoor greenhouse" section while I looked directly at the guy I believe was the owner (based on his talking points). That is really disheartening. They will not get my business. Only the maintenance people smiled. read more

Great selection of plants! They have unusual varieties not found at the big boxes, with (surprisingly) lower prices. Their 4" herbs were $2.25 vs $3.78 at a box store and had a much larger selection than other places I've been lately. Customer service was great, we bought a trailer full of plants & they helped gather everything for checkout, and helped us load everything safely. I would highly recommend. read more

I have been to McIntyres several times because they an an awesome selection of plants. However, the customer service is awful. employess are not helpful and very rude. The last tine I was there I had a cart full of plants and went to check out...was yelled at to get cart out of checkout area. Needless to say, I left cart in the doorway, went to my car and have never been back! read more

I would definitely check your receipt here as I had made purchases and upon returning home and looking at my receipt, I found I was overcharged for an additional product which I did not purchase. I was refunded after calling but I question whether this was an honest mistake? read more

Wonderful nursery with wonderful staff! I think a lot of people tend to shy away from the mom and pop nurseries because of prices, but Mcintier's prices easily rival those of places like Home Depot. The fact that the staff is knowledgeable (hard to find at big box stores) and very willing to help is icing on the cake. Their plants are in great condition. Things are a little crowded but it is well worth the time to snake through all the plants. They are committed to offering a lot of organic gardening solutions and have always pointed me in the right direction for help in healing my garden when the buggery pests come a calling. read more

Went to McIntire's for the first time today since moving to Georgetown 2 years ago. My husband has been here a few times and told me that the gentleman that has helped him several times was nice and really helpful. I heard they were more expensive than chain garden centers, but I try to support local business as often as I can. Needed to get a few new bushes and let my 5 year old daughter pick out a bunch of flowers for her new flower garden. Got to the nursery and loaded up a wagon full of flowers that my daughter picked out. Went inside to ask a few questions about shrubs that I was going to buy. When I walked in there was no one else in the building except the female employee at the counter. I said that I had a question, she said "yes" (in a tone that sounded like she had much better things to do than help me out), but then immediately turned her back and walked out of sight. A few moments later she came back. I thought that to be pretty rude but I expected that she was now ready to help me. She walked right past me, went back to counter and started talking to a man that had just come in. Really? Needless to say we left immediately and I talked with my daughter in the car about respect and customer service and that you don't treat people that way when running a business. After reading other reviews on Yelp, it seems that other customers have experienced the same poor service from a female employee there. I cannot say that it is the same employee I had an experience with today, but the scenarios were very similar. read more

Great selection of plants and supplies, but the staff absolutely is not interested in helping their customers. We walked around for quite a while on our own and had to track down someone to ask a few questions, then essentially got ignored while the staff talked about their bees. I was delighted to find this nursery and astounded at the selection! Everything looks so good. They have so many herbs, plants, flowers, fruit trees, and even coy and things to stock a pond. It is fun to browse through the vast array of plants. They also carry ladybugs and praying mantis! Anything that helps the garden naturally. The guys that work there have always been so friendly and knowledgeable. I usually go to Home Depot because i know HD will take the plants back if they should die. I bought a plant from McIntire's that was over $30 and it started dying. Those guys were very kind about willingness to swap it out and try again. :) Thanks guys....definitely going to buy from you a lot more! read more

Terrible! They will not keep their word. I placed a tree on hold to mark my daughter's first year of life. It was placed on hold until they deemed it ready to be planted. One month later I stopped by to pick it up and told it was not ready. I called about it and was told to wait. I received a call that it was ready to be picked up and when I arrived it had been sold. Choose Home Depot or some other nursery. Mark will not honor his word. My wife and I are so disappointing.. read more

I really want to like McIntire's, but I seem to have the same mediocre experience the three times I've gone. Excellent variety of plants, but poor customer service. I'd give 5 stars for their selection of native plants, which is what I'm interested in. The problem is many plants have no labels at all, some have the plant name, but absolutely no information about sun, shade or water requirements, etc. That wouldn't be a big deal if they had people to help, but you're pretty much ignored while browsing through plants. If you go inside and wait for an employee to be free and ask for help, they are pretty good to answer questions. Today I asked about suggestions for an area I'm getting ready to add plants to. I finally got someone to help, and he did answer a few questions, but after a few minutes he ran off, leaving me still wanting more suggestions and ideas. I saw so many interesting plants that I would have loved to know more about and possibly finding a place I could use them, but I ended up just leaving after I was left standing in the greenhouse. read more
