Snoopers is one of my few go-to Round Rock nurseries when I want perennials that do well in our area. While the selection varies from visit to visit, the prices are reasonable (significantly lower than larger, better-known nurseries), and the staff is knowledgeable. They do have a no-return policy, but given this is a smaller family-run business, this isn't a surprise. read more

Came here with high hopes, excitement even. I left frustrated and just eager to get gone. I love plant nurseries and I'm extremely passionate when it comes to all things plants and people. I had to box up my own plants, had to repeatedly ask for things to make transport easier on them. The lack of customer service was extremely sad. No help of any kind, just the genuine gawk at my struggle. I will not be returning for this very reason. Prices are decent, but the customer service absolutely sucks. I'm super bummed. I thought I found a great new nursery with unbeatable prices. I was so happy. I found a rubber tree for $10 as well as several other house plants I had been looking for. I checked the plants for pests before I purchased them. Everything looked fine. Unfortunately after I water my alocasia, it became infested in two days with massive mealy bugs and spider mites. The dirt is full of them. I made the mistake of setting these new plants next to plants I had already had in my home. I'm guessing I'm going to be doing damage control for a while. read more

PROS: Fantastic prices and selections. I've been to all the nurseries in the Austin area, and Snoopers has the best prices around for indoor plants, hanging plants, and landscaping. Absolutely gorgeous plants of all maturities. If you need help, find the lady working there as she is very helpful and patient. Support local businesses and shop here! CONS: Poor labeling of plants and suggested care. A suggestion to the owners (if they care) would to be label with plant names, prices, and suggested care. They have a whole section in the back with "mother plants" that are not for sale. You could put a "mother plant" out with a sign of the name, suggested care, and then the baby plants for sale around it. "Hi - I'm mom. I'm not for sale. My name is _____ and here's how to take care of me: " This would be helpful for novice plant purchasers, and enjoyable for plant experts to see. read more

This place is a lot of fun. They have a huge selection of any kind of plants you could want. My husband and I wanted to buy a Meyer Lemon tree, so I called around to several local nurseries, and Snooper's had the best price by quite a lot! The tree we purchased already has about a dozen lemons growing on it. In fact, all the lemon trees they had in stock had fruit. Both of the gentlemen we encountered that worked there were very nice and very informative. We plan to buy more fruit trees soon, and will absolutely be returning to Snooper's for them. read more

I called and spoke with a lady. I asked if she had Crape Myrtle Trees. she told me she had them in 5 gallon, 10 gallon and 15 gallon sizes. I asked for two trees about 6-10' tall. She told me she had some that were 15' feet tall. I told that would be fine. I drove from Georgetown to East Old Settlers Ave to the store. I arrived and spoke with an older gentleman. I told him that I had called and what I was there to purchase. He just frowned and told me he did not have any trees that size, only 4' trees. He spoke to a lady and them to me. He told me "she doesn't really keep up with our inventory, we don't have any trees that size". I said maybe she shouldn't be answering the phone. He said she normally does a good job. I said, obviously not in this circumstance. Drove an hour round trip for absolutely nothing!! read more

I've been shopping with Snooper's for going on 20 years -- back when they were in Austin, and now that they're in Round Rock. They're plants are always healthy and their dirt is always clean (if you buy from some places, the dirt can be infested with bugs). Snooper's buys plants from vendors, but also propagates their own. Their plants are very generous and always in top form. Unlike chain nurseries, the plants at Snooper's are actually healthy from care (as opposed to being temporarily healthy because they're being fed plant food every day -- which means they go into shock when you bring them home). Super nice people. Family run business. I'll be going here for 20 more years to come. read more

I went today, looking for flowers for my wedding for decor purposes. I went to get help ( bc I know nothing about flowers) & it was my first time looking for flowers & what a rude experience I had, I was welcomed by a man who was rude right off the bat. I asked about garland, ferns, & certain flowers.. he asked where I was from bc I guess your not from Austin if you don't understand flowers He kept insulting bc I didn't Know the names of flowers... I'm known to have killed an air plant but now as a homeowner I'm trying to learn a thing or two. I went to snoopers bc they're open on Sunday and loved it. The owner's daughter answered my myriad of questions and helped me for a long time then the owner himself helped me a lot too. I arrived very intimidated, not knowing much and left very confident in my purchases and with knowledge to keep them alive and thriving. I highly recommend this place. read more

Has a fairly good selection of healthy plants. Main issue for me is the lack of labeling. There are plants in all shapes and size pots with minimal amount of moss covered dirt in each pot and most pots don't have a label as what the item is and hard to tell what color flower you may be getting as not many things are blooming and no lanes to tell you what it is or the color. Guessing game all the way. Recommend downloading the "PlantSnap"app in order to identify the plants.. if you are trying to hold a specific flower color theme or matching boarders.. this may not be the best choice . If you like more of a surprise this place is for you. read more

I love Snoopers, like one reviewer said, they used to be in Austin a long time ago and it is worth the trip to Round Rock to shop there. Ted knows his plants and so does his son. If you interpret them as being rude, it is because you don't understand dry humor. He will correct your pronunciation, but that is to help you, not humiliate you. Try being open to being educated. I think this place is very unique and definitely different from the norm. If you want something a lot of gardens don't have (or you're just a bit eccentric), this is a great place for you. Purchased a tree this past Saturday. Asked if I could pick up the following day (July 4th). The cashier said yes, they will be open. Drove 45 minutes and borrowed a trailer and they are closed. Came back today, saw a larger size tree. Was interested in swapping out and paying more for a larger tree, but they seemed very inconvenienced. Went ahead and paid extra but then told that size tree is a different size and more money. Beyond frustrated at this point, got the refund for the additional charge for upsize and take my original purchase. The gentleman then complained I did not come back later that Saturday to pick up and I explained that the cashier told me it was ok to come back the following day and did not mention they would be closed. Popped a cigarette in his mouth. I told him that this has been a very terrible experience and I will not return for future business. He then grabbed the tree and told me I could go get a refund and leave with nothing. I explained I would not accept a refund, I want what I purchased. We then decided to load it up ourselves since they all walked away and the gentleman grabbed my fathers arm to try and hastily stop him. Then as we are loading up, a lady came to our vehicle accusing us of stealing the tree. I had to provide all the receipts for her to let us leave peacefully. The customer service is beyond horrible and the employees absolutely are in the wrong industry of service. I will make sure non of my family or friends give this place business to avoid the same experience I received. read more

We have spent time at many nurseries within 15 miles of Paloma Lake, and this place (BY FAR) has the best prices on trees. While it is true that there is limited staff and many items are not labeled with the detailed descriptors (like Home Depot) that is because so many of their plants are propagated on site from other plants, which I think to be very cool!!! They are always friendly and willing to help, if sought out. I always found their lack of following me around to be refreshing "no pressure" sales. We bought 6 trees from here in the fall and they provided us with a very reasonable planter. Just bought a magnolia this past weekend for only 55 dollars, compared with 150 for similar sizing at a couple of other nurseries. Worth the "do it yourself" for the much better pricing!! read more

We checked this place out last weekend. It has a lot of green houses with many different types of plants and exotics. There was no one around, to speak of, and I actually had to go ask someone to check us out. Not too friendly either. But then the little man came up to us and chatted about one of the plants I had purchased. He was pretty cool and very informative. My only true bummer with this place is that there are sooooo many plants and nothing but prices on them. You don't know if they are annuals, or perennials or even what they are. There are no descriptions. I would have purchased a lot more stuff if there were even signs telling us something about the plants. However, I will still go back because they have such a huge selection and they are so healthy!!!!! read more

Just bought a house 2miles from here and in attempt to fix up the new place have been looking for a local nursery. Ive been here twice now and I want very badly to like it but both times the building to the right (where you'd pay I guess don't really know) is locked and there is no one around... the first time we went ahead and looked around to try to find an employee but couldn't find anyone. Today when going back there's was a car park but again no one around and the door to the right building was locked.. don't know if because I come during the day midweek if there's a reason no one is around or if I'm just missing something. Either way I guess it's back to Home Depot for now read more

Great selection and great prices. We got our two magnolia trees from here to replace the stock trees that came with our house. We looked at a few places and couldn't find a baby tree for less than 100 dollars. Luckily we found this place thru a Google search and decided to stop in. We asked about magnolias and the man drove us to where the magnolias were, loaded them up for us and drove us back to our car on his golf cart. We got two trees for less than 100$! I have to agree with the folks making comments about being treated rudely. I was at the store and when ever I go to a nursery I am always open to listening and learning as much as I can, because I'm sure these folks know more than I do about growing and planting. In this case I do feel as though I was spoken to as a child and quite rudely in fact. I wont be back, I'l find a more friendlier place.
