I cannot resist these. They are going to make an excellent addition to my garden. This store is medium priced, but their plants are high-quality. I will again come to the store to browse, and most likely I will purchase something else Amazing! There is plenty of parking available, but it is best to park close to the entrance. It is best to get a cart at the entrance, as I mentioned earlier; this is a large nursery. It can be overwhelming as they offer vegetables, annual flowers, perennials, tropicals, and trees. There is plenty of signage, so it is easy to navigate this nursery. There are Barryhill experts available to assist, and we received very helpful advice regarding different rose plants. I do wish they would incorporate mobile POS devices instead of having you navigate across their parking lot to check out. I spoke with Lauren and I decided on a Natchez Crepe Myrtle. We set up a time to install it and she even sent me a picture of a 45 gallon It was gorgeous. Their crew arrived right on time and were amazing. It was not an easy planting due to the mess left by the storm uprooting the destroyed tree. The crew were respectful of our property and installed the new tree properly.... deep and with native Texas soil. I have only positives about Lawns Tree Farm.

Our landscaper, Pedro's Landscaping bought 47 Italian Cypress trees in September to install in our…read morebackyard and now 4 months later we have 47 dead trees. I don't know what our landscaper paid, but we paid almost $9K for these trees. Checked with both my landscaper, Pedro Abundis and Danny at Circle D on what can be done to replace the dead trees and neither company will help or take responsibility for the loss. We are just out 47 trees. Both companies do not guarantee or warranty the trees. We spent a lot of money on our landscaping with Pedro's Landscaping and the lack of customer service is just bad business. I will not recommend either company to any more of my customers, friends, neighbors or family. I am really disappointed.

My boyfriend (the green thumb) sparked my interest in gardening, so we went hunting for a local nursery spot and found this gem tucked inside a charming little house. The owner, a sweet curly-haired redhead, was all warmth and knowledge from the second we walked in. She's got it all here: propagated starter plants perfect for newbies, bigger statement pieces for indoor and outdoor gardening, succulents, pots, and even cute accessories that make you want to redecorate your patio. It's small, but it has heart. Pricing is a bit of a mystery. Very few plants are labeled, so you just have to trust her when she throws out a price. Everything seemed pretty reasonable and affordable, though. I grabbed plant food, a pot of Cuban oregano, and another medium-sized plant all for $35. I liked the price but I couldn't tell you exactly what each item cost. Personally, I didn't mind, but a little transparency would go a long way. Back to the husband: he's a bit dismissive and he scowls. He doesn't greet customers. But my two cents? Sir...If you don't want to deal with people, maybe hang out somewhere else during business hours. Customers come for the plants and the experience. Not to feel like they're crashing your day. But the nursery itself is adorable, the plants are healthy, the prices are reasonable, and the owner is a delight. There are some ridiculously cute dogs on site (just don't let them sneak out the door when you come in). All in all: a quirky, welcoming local business that deserves support. Just smile, buy your plants, and pretend the husband's scowl is part of a sitcom, part of the charm, I guess...

Commenting on review from JR who states living in California. I have questions. What are facts…read morebehind the loss of their bees? Has JR taken any classes, joined bee club or buy any books? Jrs review is missing quite a few details. I purchased a package AND a nuc last spring from these folks as well as 3 queens over summer. I am picking up 2 queens next week and THREE nucs next month. I am entering my 2d year of beekeeping and last year split the nuc and the package. I am splitting the original nuc AGAIN this year as well as the split from the original nuc this year. My package split wasn't so successful because one colony absconded. That happens. I may have to split the original package this year....will wait and see. As for your comments about "old" frames. Yes...the frames may be old...not sure. HOWEVER...I have had nothing but GREAT luck with their bees. The nuc I purchased last year clearly was successful. I have four hives currently (two double deeps and 2 single deeps. Splitting the doubles next week and installing the queens I am picking up). I probably will not be buying nucs next year. Perhaps some queens because I expect to have at least NINE hives by fall this year if not more because of needed splits.

Yes, they sell bees here! They also offer beginning beekeeper classes for $99. The guys inside said that the first thing they do in the class is take you out to the beehive field nearby and let you test your bee grit. You know, to see if you can go out and discover for yourself if you're cut out for this hobby. Because really, do you have what it takes to be a beekeeper and be swarmed and stung by bees all of the time? Or are you terrified of them and want to run away screaming in terror? But you never know, you just might be a bee whisperer, like that chick in Fried Green Tomatoes, who could just walk up to a hive and stick her hand in and grab the honey without ever getting stung. Or on the flipside, it might turn out like it did for Macaulay Culkin's character in My Girl where he is killed by a hoard of angry bees! Regardless, this is the place to come to on your journey to finding it all out one way or another. For only $99, you will know for certain if beekeeping is right for you, and if it is, well then, you can drop another $1100 to acquire everything you need to start!
