The garage stayed noticeably cooler with the full ridge vent so yay! The job took 4-days, really 3.5-days with the first 0.5 being a crew who peeled off the old shakes the first day and some supply delivery. 2nd was delivering more supplies, checking for dry rot, replacing as needed, and starting the plywood, and waterproofing. 3rd was shingling and gutters (separate crews), 4th finishing everything up including painting the vents to match with the new roof. Very efficient and well cleaned up after.

A young man came out with a drone and flew it over my house. I was initially impressed at the process, and the identified issues with my roof. I thought he'd climb up there to check it out, but he seemed to have it all worked out. He said I'd get a quote emailed to me, but after waiting a couple weeks, it never came. This brought me to Alpha Roofing. I scheduled an estimate, where I met Mario. The disrespect I felt with him flaunting his dodger hat to a deeply rooted Yankee home!!! yes, I proudly wore my Yankee hat as he and I bantered back-and-forth. We instantly hit it off. Mario is a personable and friendly guy, I felt comfortable with him. He came into my home to see the source of the leak and asked for access to my attic. He grabbed a ladder and climbed onto my roof first. I questioned him not having a drone and he told me he did, but for initial estimates, he needed to walk my roof to see what was going on. Once on my roof, he quickly identified everything the other roofing company mentioned and so much more. He found the source of my leak. The drone was great, but would never have caught the tiny holes left in my roof from removing solar pool panels. That gave me an Oh *hit moment! I quickly got an estimate and asked how soon the repairs could be done, as rain was approaching. Unfortunately, he told me it would take a couple of weeks. I braced for that. Next, there's Elsie. I was out with my granddaughters one day and kept getting a phone call from a number I didn't recognize. I get so many spam calls, I never answer my phone if I don't recognize the number, but Elsie was persistent. She probably called my phone five times. I finally answered and she apologized profusely for blowing up my phone, but was able to schedule me the next day for repairs. I was over the moon! I thanked her so much for her persistence!!!!! Finally, there's Jacob, Jonathan, and Gesar. What an amazing group of young men! They showed up bright and early, and ready to work. They were equally friendly and personable. Fun facts...Jacob is Mario's son. He too showed up in a dodger hat, which I had to express my dissatisfaction and told him it would reflect in his review, lol. Johnathan is a US Marine veteran, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!!! And Gesar "G", is the silent assassin. He didn't talk, but he was hard-working. Their work was quick, efficient, neat, and done right. Once finished, I was shown pictures of all of the problem areas, and progress photos showing their work up to completion, with in-depth explanations. Everything was done just in time for the big storm, and guess what? No more leak! Oh, and by the way... Mario's quote was less than half of the first roofing company who missed the source of the leak. My neighbor had a major issue with their roof during this last storm, and I was happy to refer Mario to them. He showed up promptly and put a tarp on their roof, pending clear weather to do repairs. These guys are by far no questions asked THE BEST. My family, myself and my previous business have used them since before they were McIvers family owned. Paid a lot money to tent my recently purchased house. The rats never went away. I called them back after tenants complained about rats. He came back, to poison the rats, and he put ugly wood on some.holes on the exterior of the house trapping rats within the walls. The rats did die, but then they got stuck inside the walls, attic, all over the place. They started rotting and turning to flies. Then he wanted to charge us more to remove the dead rats. What tipped me off that this was going to be a bad deal from the beginning is that the individual I talked to over the phone did not know what an AFCI was (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) as opposed to a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter). I contacted this business to inquire if they were certified electricians, and they confirmed that they were. I then asked if they were located in the City of Banning, and they replied that they were based in Moreno Valley. I scheduled an appointment, and they arrived to inspect the issue. They pressed the button on the GFCI outlet, which my tenants were unfamiliar with. They attempted to charge me $400 for this simple action. I found this amount to be outrageous and informed them that I would contest the charges if they proceeded. After negotiating, I was able to reduce the charge to $110, but even this amount seemed excessive. While I understand that they should charge for at least a service call, they insisted on a minimum of two hours of labor, which they had not disclosed upfront. Be cautious when dealing with this business. They claim to be certified electricians, but they are actually electrical contractors who hire certified electricians. This means you're not only paying for their arrangement services, but also for the electrician's time. Why not go directly to the electrician and eliminate the middleman? MGS's reply lacks transparency and does not provide a precise explanation. In response to their defense on this very review: Yes! I did say I'm OK with it and I paid $110 to them for pressing a button that literally took 10 minutes or less. But that is after I had to threaten to contest the charges of MGS wanting to charge $440 for 10 minutes of work. Ridiculous! I 100% wholeheartedly stick by this review! And again buyer beware!
