She completed all the scans, and then the dentist came in to review the results and make recommendations. After that, the office manager joined to go over insurance, costs, and treatment options. I clearly stated that I only wanted the basic cleaning covered by my insurance and did not feel I needed additional services at this time. The interaction became uncomfortable when I was asked, "Are you going against the doctor's orders?" I explained that I needed to make a decision that worked for me financially. Once I agreed to the basic cleaning, the dentist returned and performed what was described as a "power wash." Unfortunately, it felt extremely rushed--about one to two minutes--and lacked the care I've consistently received at my previous dental office. The assistant finished up afterward and, while she was kind, the entire experience felt hurried and sloppy. This doctor talked me into buying a tooth guard I didn't want and didn't need. He was insisting I grind my teeth. I was telling him I think I grinded my teeth in the past but I don't think I do it anymore. I don't know why I doubted myself. I should have seen the red flag when I asked him how much it is and he said "I don't know." When I finished my cleaning it was on the bill for $450 and I paid it, I can't explain why. I was stupid for doing that, I know. My wife confirmed when I got home that no, I do not grind my teeth any longer. Early the next morning I emailed to cancel. No one replied so I called later in the day and they said there might be a lab fee but the person who deals with the lab is out sick for the week. I called again today 1 week later and she said unfortunately they can't give me any refund. Letting people know I wouldn't trust this place. It is BS that the Dr. didn't know how much they are selling their products for. It is also BS that they "couldn't cancel because the person who does it is out sick."
