We couldn't be happier, especially with all of the new COVID-19 safety measures. Obviously, we were scared to return to the dentist but Smile Haus put those fears to rest. You will be safe. Everyone here is always so kind to me and my kids. We all have severe dental anxiety in general, but they always take good care of us. We've been coming for years and appreciate the seamless transition to Dr. Hotait. The office is beautiful, the staff is knowledgeable. Vanessa always greets us at the front desk and handles checking in and gets us an answers we need with a smile. It's an almost paperless environment which is excellent. She's so sweet. Amanda, our hygienist, is gentle and the best we've ever had. She knows so much and always has new information to share. Unethical billing practices! Be careful . Mustapha Hotair bought this practice in January 2019 . No disclosure to patients prior to obtaining service of the sale and potential affects to insurance coverage . After services performed , required 100% payment by patient on the day of service and instructions to patient to get insurance reimbursement directly from in insurance co. After receiving insurance reimbursement received another bill -- from Mustapha Hotair demanding "insurance has sent the check to you . Requested balance of $186.80 " which the amount already paid . Called Mustapha Hotair they said i didn't owe $186.80 as the bill demanded ... but only $40 ! Asked why i got a bill demanding me to remit $186.80 TODAY??? They just blamed it on the billing company . So beware of overbilling practices read more

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE!!!! They are incredibly UNPROFESSIONAL. I scheduled an appointment with the office manager, named Monica, on the day of my appointment as I was driving to meet with them. I called to let them know I was running a few minutes late due to traffic. They had no idea who I was, and did not see me on the schedule that day, the girl that answered the phone had to get Monica to help her and Monica got on the phone and said to me, "oh I'm sorry I had you scheduled for yesterday" so I said to her if you had me scheduled for yesterday why didn't anybody call me to either confirm or ask why I missed my appointment. Monica's response was "I was so busy yesterday I didn't have time". So you don't have time to follow up on your appointments and confirm that your potential clients will be there or find out why they never came in the first place. Flag number one. Regardless, I was two minutes away from the office so they told me to come in and they could do x-rays and still take a look at my case. When I got there they took X-ray's and then I sat down with Monica to discuss my case, and she proceeded to tell me, now mind you she's not a dentist, and the dentist was not there, that I needed to pull out 4-6 of my top front teeth to do implants because I had infections and cavities and I needed implants for starters. That to do my case it would cost me $30,000. After sitting there and crying about the entire situation Monica proceeded to tell me don't worry we'll take care of you. We will make sure everything is done right. I will send you the estimate via email today so we can start the work, well it's been over a week and I have yet to receive an estimate and every time I call no one answers the phone. In the meantime, I visited two other dentist who said I don't have any infections or cavities and I do not need to pull out any teeth and do implants. Wow!!! so basically, they wanted to pull all my healthy teeth out insert implants and charge me an exorbitant amount of money without the dentist even taking a look into my mouth. This place is absolutely horrific, and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. As a matter fact I would highly recommend avoiding it at all cost. read more

This business used to be called Medical Center Dental Care. Apparently the business was sold and re-named, but some of the same dentists (Dr. Altman) from MCDC are still there, it looks like. My 2016 review is for the former business, not the current one. Dr. Malhotra and Dr. Dizon owned the old business and looks like they're now gone. And since they are gone, I can mention that I was given a $300 refund on a Zoom teeth-whitening procedure that didn't work, if I agreed to take down my negative review. As far as what I experienced otherwise at this dental office - it was OK. The staff were nice (although when asked by the hygienist if I drank alcohol and my response was no, she said, "can you at least take shots?" - like, by a shotglass, which I thought was a little irrelevant.) There was nothing really negative about my two visits there other than that it took 5 years for them to refund what was paid. They did mention that the reason for the delay was due to a bad office manager whom they had for years, who had since been terminated - I wrote them 3 times and left negative review on here, and there was no response. Finally, 5 years later, they contacted me and apologized, which I appreciated. As far as how it compared to other dental offices - it seems like they do only very basic dentistry there, cleanings and whitenings and probably simple fillings. When I asked if they did root canals, they said "no, we send our patients out for those." This could be totally different now under the new business, not sure. The MCDC was actually located in the West Hills Hospital and they used to send out a lot of "$45.00 cleaning and exam deal" flyers in the mail and that's how I found out about them, and took them up on it when I was looking around for a new dentist. Much appreciated. However, I found another good provider in the area that I've been going to for 8 years; their failure to refund me on the failed Zoom in a timely manner drove me away unfortunately. FYI - my current dentist, now almost 10 years later, only charges $99 for Zoom whitening! I don't recommend Zoom though, it doesn't work for a lot of people and it's known as being just a revenue generator for a lot of dental offices. Bleaching trays are better. read more
