I have…read morehad to go to the hospital 3 times for emergency and the wait was less than 1/2 hour in all 3 cases. I was taken care of and the problem I had was taken care of by the doctors and nurses. The last few months I was at the hospital due to blocked arteries which caused me to have a triple bypass, heart shocked twice, an ablation, and finally a pacemaker implanted. After my bypass I ended up in the Cardiac Care Unit where I was taken care of by the most professional caring doctors and nurses. It was like my comfort and recovery were the most important task they had. It is no wonder that they and the doctors and nurses at the McKenzie Heart Group are a level 3 star for patient care and outcomes. My understanding is that is the highest level attainable and there are only 3 in all of Oregon. Two in Portland and one at McKenzie-Willamette hospital with the McKenzie Heart group. You couldn't do any better than them for your heart care especially if you need bypass surgery.

I started going to Keiper Spine about 14 years ago with lower back pain, and for years, I would…read moreperiodically get cortisone injections in my spine that offered amazing relief. But about 5 years ago, the pain wasn't going away after the injection like it usually did, and in fact seemed to be going in a different direction. So, Dr. Keiper ordered an MRI of my left SI joint, and sure enough, that was a new problem. A year or two of successful cortisone injections fixed the problem - until it didn't. Dr. Keiper told me that there was a surgery he could perform that would probably relieve all of my pain, and I agreed to go forward with that plan. But my insurance, Blue Cross, denied me the surgery several times, claiming that it was not medically necessary. After the injections stopped working and surgery was going to be the only way for me to be free of almost constant pain while moving (On the 1 to 10 pain scale, I was between 6 and 8 the majority of my awake hours), which was severely impacting my quality of life. Even doing simple household chores like vacuuming, laundry, gardening, etc., was miserable. Finally, Blue Cross did approve the surgery, which was performed by Dr. Keiper, and the results have been amazing. For all of the years I have been seeing Dr Keiper and his other staff at Keiper Spine, I have always been impressed with the friendliness and professionalism from the front office to the nurses and medical assistants. I would highly recommend Dr. Keiper and his staff to anyone who is looking for relief from back pain. I think he is the best neurosurgeon in Oregon!

Upon walking in the door I was surprised how clean and picked up the reception area was. Mary at the front desk was very polite and answered all my questions relating to her area of responsibility. Next Brooke took me to the prep area and explained what was going to be happening next. She then passed me off to Teri who continued prepping me, answering all my questions and staying with me until it was time to go to the operating theater. When I awoke there was another nurse ( didn't get her name) who stayed with me until I was released. Because I am hypoglycemic she had my choice of apple juice or apple sauce waiting for me when I awoke. Everything went very smoothly and would definitely use the facility again.

The nurses and MA were all helpful despite the long wait. But recognizing that this is an urgent care and a walk in clinic, that's expected. Con: Despite having a wait area the space of about 15' x 9', patients were not required to wear a mask even if they're coughing and clearly showing signs of being infectious to others in that tight space. Being that this is a health facility. policy should reflect the wellbeing of everyone. There were elderlies, people with compromised immune system and children which makes mask requirement evermore important.

My sister is a nurse so I had her check her a few times for wheezing and whatnot, and possibly to put me at ease she suggested I take her to urgent care. This one was closest. One of the things it has going for it is that it's not Riverbend, because the ER there is insane. We were in and out of here within about an hour. The receptionist wasn't the friendliest but the other staff we interacted with were. While I appreciate that it was relatively quick for us to be seen and leave--which I especially appreciated because trying to keep a toddler happy in a place like that isn't always easy--it was what happened after my visit that left me a little unsure about the place. My child had a COVID-flu-RSV test and they called back with the results after we left. Unfortunately my babe had RSV (thank god she had a vaccine for it as soon as she was eligible because I can't imagine her having this without it, but that's another story). I had questions about how to best care for her during her illness and the person I spoke with couldn't answer my questions and was instead asking whomever was sitting with her at the desk. It did not at all inspire confidence, and I called my daughter's pediatrician to get advice I felt I could trust.

We searched for different options, and are so happy that we landed at the Willamette Valley Cancer Center. First, the front desk including Shirley, Jada, and others is so welcoming, kind, gracious and compassionate. Shirley went out of her way to get us into see Dr. Wells as soon as possible. Jada welcomes each patient, and whoever is with them with a big smile, enthusiastic greeting, and constant warmth and kindness. This process is so daunting, but right from the time you walk in the door- you feel you are in the best of hands. Dr. Wells, his nurses and staff have been wonderful. Dr. Wells treats my dad each time like he is the most important patient in the world. He listens, and explains things thoroughly in a language that my father and our family can understand. When my dad had to go to radiation therapy, the staff there was outstanding. Robby made my dad as comfortable as possible for each and every treatment. Taking an interest in his personal life, and hearing him brag about his grandkids on each visit. Once the immunotherapy treatment began, they continued to treat my father with great grace and kindness. Denise has been super each time. She is kind and patient, without fail. If you are reading this, I'm very sorry. I know you are in a tough spot, and I hope you can have the same success my father is having. What happened at Willamette Valley Cancer Center is they gave my dad radiation. They overshot the…read moreradiation on his shoulder and destroyed his lungs. When he had his visit they told him that the cancer had spread to his lungs, which was NOT true. He then received world class cancer treatment out of state and that's where we learned this horrible truth. The cancer itself (skin cancer) could have been treated but the damage on his lungs made it too difficult for him to fight and he did not survive. He went to WVC for help. He trusted them and felt comfortable letting them treat him. And in return they were careless and killed an otherwise very healthy and active man. It was shocking and incredibly painful. WVC, there is nothing to discuss. Please do not ask me to reach out to you. We are devastated.
