My car is great but after I bought my car, I was treated like a stranger one I went to the mechanic shop. They acted like I was nothing but a wallet even though I bought a five year warranty I actually took it to five below if they checked it for free when they wanted to charge me $100 just to see if my oil was leaking, I probably won't come back here

I went to McLeod Auto after a shady deal at Action Motors. Truth is, I should've stayed here to begin with. I came here first, but wanted to look around at other places cause I was afraid my credit wasn't good enough. Jaden was very nice and professional from the very beginning. I like that he was also honest when I asked him certain questions. After I was told to bring a car back to Action Motors, I got approved (for real) at McLeod Auto. I also like that they gave us a copy of all signed paperwork; unlike Action Motors. They said they had to mail us the copies (which I thought was very strange). I like that McLeod didn't take advantage of us in a desperate situation.

The day I found most damages, when changing out the ORIGINAL water pump, I saw structural integrity issues all around the right front.

So I went off and wrote a review way before I had made and had this one up, so I decided to take the old one down an update it prior! When I first purchased my 2018 Ford Fusion SE 2.5L Not only was extremely upset for a $10,000 - 12k up charge above MSRP for an base model that had nothing special to it. Single key fob, no remote start, no crazy heated seats, no sunroof lol and basic cloth seats. So regardless of the fact that they Up charged me like I was buying an All Wheel Drive V6 Ford Fusion... I have probably the most basic ford fusion available and they charged me like it's a special case... ALSO all the filters when I bought the car were BAD, and the body lining on the car was BAD, I was starting to tell this car had been through something but I negotiated verbally about issues I saw and when they brought out a different contract from what we agreed on with the damages I assessed about the bumper cracking and body lines they said they'd bring down the price, they never did. And it wasn't until I worked on my car as of recent removing the plastic cover around the right wheel well and removing a tire while changing the belts and water pump that I noticed a HUGE seem cutting into the frame... and In my head I said THATS THE SHAKING FROM THE DASH I KEPT TELLING THE DEALER!, shortly I asked my buddy to come over and help me out... before he walked up to the side with the tire off, he as a car tech at caliber collision notices issues all over... and when he makes it over and see my wheel well, all he can say is this should actually be illegal to sell something this messed up becuase your passengers could be more at risk to death thanks to your structural damage. All I can say to him is wow bro these dealers are villains...

I ended up taking it to a Nissan dealership where it has sat in the shop for three months waiting for their extended warranty (CarMax ) to kick in and cover it. I then had to provide 10 oil change receipts and they made Nissan scope the entire motor to prove that it was nothing on my part that caused a piece of metal to chunk off of in to the motor. They took their time to the point we had to buy a new vehicle elsewhere. Carmax has managed to lose my paperwork on my gap insurance as well, and I've had to do all the legwork of providing original documents to prove what they sold me. their lack of response and customer service is a joke once they sell a car they have no regards for you and they are downright selling crap cars and getting away with it. they will not help you once you are out the door. how they are getting away with it legally case by case is ridiculous. i Will never touch CarMax again. I been on several platforms against CarMax for their less than mediocre sales and practices

So overall I'd say we had a good experience. We drove near 4 hours to get to this dealership solely…read morebecause they had a 2006 Honda CR-V with decently low mileage for an almost 20 year old vehicle. It was the lowest mileage one I could find that was the EX trim so we decided it was worth it to make the trip up here from Houston. I was able to negotiate to a fair enough price over the phone as well so that's a plus for them and they let us test drive the car on our own which was a nice change from most dealerships. They mentioned that work was also done on the car for it to be sold like the struts being replaced and an oil change. They painted the car themselves which sounds nice and it mostly is but this is where my 4 star rating comes from. There's paint in quite a few places on the car where there really shouldn't be and we can't get it off without replacing the parts entirely. This could have been easily avoided if there was just more care in the masking process. There's also a lot of residue from the duct tape that was used. I appreciate the paint job being done but if they put more care into it and used actual masking tape this would have been an easy 5 stars. Still recommend the place though.

The customer service after finishing paperwork went way out the window. My husband and I can't seem to get anyone to call us back, I finally had to go in person to get answers, the manager over our finance rep. had us less than confident to recommend Automax to anyone. It's been less than two weeks and I feel like I'm still playing phone tag to get a definite answer about my temp tags/plates. I keep getting told so and so will "call you back" and I wait only to have to call back two days later because no one got back with me. I fully understand I am not their only customer and that these places can get overwhelmed with people browsing, looking to buy and/or in the process of making a purchase - I get it- but I would appreciate some form of communication to let me know what's going on with the minor issue I am experiencing.

I went to Automax a few months ago with no car to trade in and almost an 800 credit score. I now have a mid 600 credit score and upside down 10,000$ on a car I did not set out to have. I first got a used Land Rover. I did not like how it drove. It was a really rough ride. The check engine light came on. I took it back to the dealership. I should of listen to the lady in the waiting area that was there getting her money back on a car that blew up right after getting it. I also should of paid attention to all the BAD REVIEWS they have. I had to do a total trade in and I got an brand new Ford Edge. Almost 4000 miles out it totally broke down. (A belt came off) I was not taking it back. So I ended up getting a Hyundai Tucson. At signing time my credit score is mid 600 due to all the credit checks they ran and me not having Equity in the Ford that broke down, and No rebates that was promised was "available". I regret ever going there now . Not only do I have a lower credit score, and upside down 10,000$ I also missed out on work and upset I let this happen to me. I let my opinion be known and I was told this is all they could do. This will take almost 10 years to fix. Now not responding to my emails. DONT GO TO AUTOMAX!

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience deserves recognition…read more After a frustrating encounter with a large national dealership that changed key terms after inviting me in under a "sign and drive" offer, and online preapproval. I urgently needed a reliable vehicle that fit both my needs and budget due to my BMW X3 being in the shop nearly a entire month. I remembered that a old colleague (Wanda) that I worked with over 20 yrs. ago was now the finance director at the Key Connect. Called key connect where Wanda listened to my needs and concerns and set me up to come in the next day. The manager Jordan ("J") exemplified what customer service should be. Rather than trying to sell me what was readily available, he took the time to understand my situation, carefully listened to my needs, and leveraged Key Connect's extensive dealership partnerships to give us more flexibility for vehicle inventory to significantly expand my options. His dedication, professionalism, and willingness to work collaboratively throughout the process made all the difference. Once we found the right vehicle, Samara at the Platinum Autoplex dealership handled the financing process with exceptional efficiency, transparency, and expertise. She was knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to work with--easily one of the best F&I experiences I've had throughout my years of purchasing vehicles. What truly stood out, however, was the dealership's commitment to doing the right thing. During my vehicle inspection, a technician noticed the tire tread was approaching replacement levels. Before I had even finished signing the paperwork, four new tires had already been ordered. There were no excuses, no attempts to cut corners--just proactive service, honesty, and genuine care for the customer. That moment perfectly reflected the culture of this organization. Throughout my visit, I witnessed multiple team members working together to support customers and one another. It was clear that the focus wasn't simply on completing a sale, but on delivering an outstanding customer experience through teamwork, integrity, and accountability. My sincere thanks to Jordan, Samara, the service team, and everyone involved. You exceeded my expectations. And to Corey and Wanda, congratulations on building a culture that prioritizes people, professionalism, and customer care. The positive environment and commitment to excellence demonstrated by your team are truly commendable. Five stars without hesitation. If more were available, they would be well deserved.
