I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Erik Sayles. I saw him for severe complex TMJ disorder. I will start this review by saying I have dealt with many, many Drs in the last 15 years because of the MS and several co-morbid illnesses that I've had to contend with. I have a well rounded experience with Drs who make a difference and those who don't. With saying that, I highly recommend Dr. Erik Sayles, Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is a doctor who makes a difference. He was on time, alert and attentive, extremely knowledgeable. Who also carries the best bedside manner and is friendly, compassionate, listened, intelligent, thought outside the box, thorough with exam, and thorough with suggestions and options to proceed forward, as well as, has great follow up to make sure you are well taken care of. The entire experience sucked! From meeting the so called dentist ERIC, who has absolutely no bedside manners, to him yelling at me for making loud noises (because I was nervous) and was having 2 molars extracted, as he tells me to be quite because he had other patience in the other rooms and didn't want them to hear me, to the fact I never received my prescription for my antibiotics after calling twice. I DO NOT recommend this place for anyone!!!! OH yeah, I was told the extractions would run me about $300. Then they found out I had dental insurance and charged my insurance company almost $1,000 and I had to pay $160 out of my pocket as well. So over $1,000 for two teeth to be extracted and he left a piece of one tooth in my mouth!!! I will not be going back there ever! read more

I paid over $1,000 at the time of service after being clearly told that insurance would not cover anything and that I was paying in full. Over a year later--with no communication in the meantime--I suddenly received a bill for an additional $424. They had actually emailed me months earlier with this invoice, and then retracted it the very next day, which suggests they knew something was off--but still decided to try again later, hoping I'd pay. When I questioned it and offered a fair 50% settlement (which is common practice for old medical bills), they argued with me, refused the offer, and their follow-up email was vague and unclear, making it seem like they might take my payment now and come after me for the rest later. It wasn't until I threatened to report them to the Attorney General and the Consumer Protection Division that they finally backed down and agreed to the settlement--something they should have done from the start, given the age of the bill, the payment I had already made, and the verbal confirmation at the time of service. That said, the actual dental work was solid--the dentist was quick and professional, and they were able to book me promptly when other offices had long waitlists. It's unfortunate that such competent care was overshadowed by an unnecessarily aggressive and confusing billing experience. read more

Coming off a holiday weekend, of course my tooth had an abscess. My dentist referred me here to drain the abscess to stop the swelling and pain. I was out of his office with relief in less than a hour. I have severe dental anxiety and the office staff was amazing. I could cry with relief. Thank you so much. My wiife went there to have two implants in the upper right side of her mouth. She was recommended to have some bone grafting done first so she could have the procedure. Dr. Sayles saw my wife after the bone grating and told her everything looked good. The day of the procedure he looked like he did not know what he was doing began to complain about space. Went to them for a replacement Dental implant.. instead of the implant being vertical it's tipped to the center of my mouth.. I didn't realize this before I left the office due to the stitches.. when I went to my dentist to have the cap put on he confirmed my suspicions that the placement wasn't ideal. Went back to McNally and they basically blew me off trying to say I needed more bone grafting when it was placed.. hello I had bone grafting when it was placed and if I needed more that's your jobs to say that.. none of this was brought up when additional grafting was an option. I waited 6 months for an appointment here which is absurd, then when i finally arrive they made wait an ENTIRE HOUR AND A HALF before being seen by someone. I have never been around such incompetent surgeons before, until this experience. When i politely asked the usually wait time before being seen, they avoided the question entirely. The option i asked for regarding my oral surgery, was completely disregarded and was forced to choose the option the doctor wanted. The surgeons at this facility do not answer any questions and only care about turning over their customers. CANNOT WAIT to seek a different oral surgery facility!!! And now, 3 months after the implant, I have a fully restored tooth #19 replacement crown that I am enjoying chewing with. It is so gratifying to experience my own son doing such excellent work. I had a molar extracted on August 31, 2018 at the Longmeadow location. Dr. Robert Weinstock did the procedure. This was my 8th extraction (4 wisdom teeth, 2 to make room for orthodontic procedures, and 2 because of cracked teeth), but this was the first I wasn't knocked out for with general anesthesia. I was really nervous about being awake for the whole thing, but the doctor and staff made this as pleasant an experience as you could hope for - it's an extraction, not a massage, after all. Everything was explained up front, the doctor and assistant continued to talk me through it as it was going on, and I had the option to slow things down at any point. There was NO pain. The doctor did such a good job with the Novacaine, it numbed just the affected area and I had no "mush-mouth" afterward. I am following all of the after-care instructions and everything is healing up very well. If I ever need another extraction, this is the only office and doctor I will see. Nobody wants a tooth pulled, but if you have to, I'd highly recommend Dr. Weinstock and the staff in Longmeadow. read more

This was the worst experience of my life.I want to mention that I had four impacted wisdom teeth removed years ago, I wouldn't want to do it again but ...not so bad. I went on 11-16 and was scheduled with Dr Desessa, for an extraction and bone graft. The surgery was brutal. I'm a nervous patient for dental procedures, I admit this upfront. Within hours, I knew something wasn't right. The pain was over the top, excruciating and unbearable. After three days of complete suffering, Dr Desessa saw me again and determined there were bone fragments and particles that needed to be dealt with. He opened the side of my gum and removed the bone fragments and filed my jaw bone. I felt all of this. I can't even describe the pain so I won't try. Things got worse from there. I've seen him six times bc the pain and discomfort is relentless and none of the over the counter remedies help at all. I know there's an opioid epidemic, but there must be options and exceptions IMO... I've never had a history of substance use. Dr. Desessa saw me again on 11/20 at which time he said maybe the initial procedure was a failure and he should "undo" everything. I wanted to faint in the chair but I agreed, idk what other option I had but to trust the surgeon at this point. Brutal, horrific. More bone filing, stitches everywhere- The staff humiliated me by rolling their eyes, it was just the worst possible experience imaginable. When he finished I asked him if the pain was going to be awful and he said I should be fine. It's 3:24am. I'm not fine. I'm in excruciating, unbearable pain and decided to see what others experienced with this Dr and it appears the same. I'm sorry for all of you. I would NEVER recommend this Dr. Ps- during this 2 week nightmare, I asked to be seen by other surgeons in the practice and was told NO, I even called several other practices in the area and NONE would see me for a second opinion... I recently went here to have a root pulled for my wisdom tooth. After a long day of my prior dentist unable to complete the procedure due to the complication of my tooth Dr. Robert Weinstock took me in that day. I have horrible dental anxiety and I have never been so relaxed before after such a stressful procedure. The staff was welcoming and kind and you could tell they really cared. Dr. Weinstock was such a pleasure. He was kind and comforting and walked me through everything as he went along with such confidence and optimism it eases my nerves. I will be returning to get my other wisdom tooth pulled and would recommend this dentist 100%!!! That's a lot coming from someone who's usually petrified of going. Beware. This is a company buying out all the smaller oral surgeon offices and they are horrible to deal with! Clearly in it for the money. They make you pay for services up front before they bill your insurance 'because that is office policy'. It took 5 months for them to process the claim and then send me an overdue notice as the first correspondence! And their response was that the insurance company denied everything. Really? The surgeons themselves are the same locals that were in practice alone but the offices being run by this conglomerate are out of date, run down and the equipment seems very old style. Add in the horrible office practices where they are clearly just looking to make money and zero customer service- this is the last place I would go again. I mentioned this to my referring dentist and they told me they have been getting similar complaints from other patients they have referred! My partner had a tooth extracted here and had a horrible experience. We were referred to this practice from our dentist, so we trusted the referral over the negative google reviews. I am regretting this decision now. To make a long story short, Dr. Christopher R. DeSesa did not fully numb the area before extracting the tooth. He was rushing throughout the whole appointment and ended up breaking the tooth. After breaking the tooth, he had to cut the remainder of the tooth out (keep in mind my partner's gums were not fully numb!) while several nurses held my partner's head still. They did not provide any pain medication or guidance on the best way to use over the counter pain medication. Overall, a terrible experience. Definitely do not go to this practice! read more

I have been there 3 times over many years to have wisdom teeth taken out. The first time was many, many years ago. the oral surgeon injected me with novocaine and then within 30-40 seconds after attempted to take the tooth out. I complained about the pain that I was feeling and he became rather angry with me. He gave me more and then waited for about 5 minutes. He then pulled the tooth. The second time I was there was about 4 years ago. I was not happy with the condition of the room that they used. The instruments were already laid out on the tray, unwrapped and no evidence of being sterile. Jugs of liquid sitting on the floor around the perimeter of the room. I got the tooth pulled without a problem but did get an infection in the area where it was extracted. The last time I was there was about 2 years ago. It was the same as my second time. Jugs of liquids on the floor around the perimeter of the room. A very old (and narrow) dental chair. Surgical tools laying out unwrapped, without and evidence of being sterilized. After being injected with a numbing agent, the doctor decided he wanted a Bite Block in my mouth. The dental assistant proceeded to walk the 6 feet to the counter and picked one up that had been sitting there since my arrival in the room. It was not wrapped. She walked back over and the Oral Surgeon placed it between my teeth. Sure enough, I ended up with another infection where that tooth was extracted. I still have problems with that area of my gum. Needless to say.....I refuse to go back there ever again. I have nicknamed the place "The Butcher Brothers". read more

I see someone below wrote that there is no Dr. McNally at this practice. Well, there definitely used to be many years ago. Maybe the practice is owned by the family. Dr. McNally extracted two teeth for me about 60 years ago, so maybe by now, he is no longer with us. I have gone to that office since though and had the misfortune of getting a Dr. Torcia, not sure if that is the correct spelling. I found him to be somewhat rude, way too serious, a know-it-all, jumpy, easily rattled and possibly in need of medication or retirement. I would not recommend him to anyone who likes a dentist who is patient, warm, friendly and has a good "chair-side" manner and exhibits a pleasant self-assured manner, without trying to tell you that he knows more about you than you do yourself! read more

Called the west Springfield office to schedule an appointment to have one of my wisdom tooth taken out due to excruciating pain. She told me to call the next day as soon as they open so they can get me in as an emergency. Called and was told I couldn't be seen until I had this that and other done first and then we can schedule an appointment. Never going here again and I do not recommend this place !!! read more

There was no issue with the extraction performed on my wife. However, they took a credit card payment that ended up being more than what our insurance said we owed. Had to call twice to get them to send the refund. I had a similar experience with an extraction on me several years ago. Bottom line... if you have commercial insurance don't assume that the payment they take is the correct amount, and be prepared to hound them to get your overpayment back. read more

Absolutely would give zero stars if i could, had my wisdom teeth removed by dr. Dasesa and immediately knew something was not right the day after because my tongue was still numb. Days and weeks go by, Christopher and his team assured me that it will come back but i had a bad gut feeling and asked during my follow ups if i should be looking for a neurologist. He AGAIN assured me that oh no this can happen everything will be fine theirs no need its too early(months later). After about three or four follow ups obviously my tongue is still numb and he finally refers me to a neurologist. He and his boss however let me know they'd pay for the appointment but not if i needed surgery. After speaking to the neurologist all the feeling will more than likely not return on its own and to fully correct it i would need surgery but the desired outcome still may mot be possible and even then Dr. Dasesa isnt even willing to pay for the mistake HE MADE. The business itself isn't horrible just this one surgeon there, Dr. Torchia, he has no patience for people in any capacity. When i was four i needed to get my tooth pulled. He made us wait an hour and a half after our designated appointment time, by then the medicine that they gave me to keep me calm had worn off. When he had me in the chair he sent my parent out of the room, ignored everything i said and tried to put the Novocaine mask on me. when i started to scream and cry out of fear he left the room and told my parent he couldn't pull my tooth because i was unbearable! I was four! Today my sister needed a tooth pulled. She was in the operating room and he was half way through pulling her tooth when she groaned a little from the pain and stopped half way through pulling, and said he could finish because she was not cooperating. DO NOT GO TO DR. KREITZER AT THE LONGMEADOW OFFICE! And here is why: I called her because I wanted a female oral surgeon to perform my wisdom teeth extraction. I was willing to pay out of pocket for her to do this because in my life, I had something happen to me that (a very sensitive topic that I am only mentioning because I need everyone to understand why I do not want anyone to be subjected to her mistreatment). Dr. Kreitzer was so irate towards me for something that could of been handled so much differently. Instead of sounding like a concerned doctor, Dr. Kreitzer acted like an angry parent, belittling me and saying that "as a responsible adult, you should have done this- this - and that" but Im not her child. I am a paying client of Dr. Kreitzer who has given her $250 for a consult and was about to give her $2400 to extract her wisdom teeth. I could have gone to someone in-network with my insurance, but didn't because I TRUSTED DR. KREITZER TO GIVE ME BETTER CARE OVER A MALE ORAL SURGEON, but i feel just as BETRAYED. I called them for my son, they lied over the phone to me, then when I got there for a 5 min apt they told me it was going to cost me thousands. I have a similar experience as a commented below. they did not require the full payment up front but due to an experience with my medical insurance i made it clear i did not want to do the wisdom teeth extraction until they were sure my insurance would pay for it. After several conversation and $200 down i went ahead with the surgery based on information provided to me by the Long Meadow office that it would covered by my insurance company. 7 month later i received a bill from the dental office stating i owed them the full billing. After speaking to my insurance company I was advised they did not bill the insurance company for 5 months resulting in the insurance company denying the claim. When i called the office about the situation and what they could about the bill since this was due to incompetence from their billing department the message i got was basically too bad so sad. i would never recommend anyone doing business with them. read more

One tiny popcorn Kernell cost me a molar. I bit down and that little kernel split my tooth right to the bone. The extraction was performed elsewhere and I was referred to McNally Brothers Oral Surgeons.I was devastated at the thought of needing an implant. And well the cost had me a bit nauseous too. I made the appointment for the procedure and today headed in for my appointment. I think subconsciously I took every wrong turn in hopes that I'd miss my appointment. I was pretty stressed about the procedure but opted for novocaine instead of sedation as, well, I needed to be able to drive home. As I was called into the room I could feel my blood pressure rising with anticipation, with each step I took toward the "chair" I think my blood pressure climbed. Then Dr. Sudol walked in, he had me laughing and totally relaxed in no time. The procedure was so much easier than I imagined. And completely pain-free! LOL yeah, I'm pretty sure the Novocaine was the reason, but ya know how sometimes a Dentist kinda forgets that the "face" is connected to the mouth and you are subjected to pinches, or just the pressure of the big ole hands behind the tools as your face gets squished and pulled. Not today! I very well could have just experienced the most carefree dental experience ever. When he said, "that's a wrap", I was shocked. I was still in the "when are we gonna start mode" and he was wrapping up. Now that's how every dental experience should be.
