Horrendous service department and customer service. Brought a car in with a warranty issue. The check engine light they said was a "misfire" and that it wasn't covered under warranty and charged over $200 to do literally nothing and when questioned about it got very unprofessional and rude. Bought a Trax and traded in my Cavalier. Salesman told me that my trade in would reduce my sales tax towards my purchase. Not too impressed with my experiences so far with McNeill. I was looking for a used Chevy truck and talked to a sales person. She kept trying to push foreign cars on me! At a Chevy dealership... Finally I got through to her that I wanted a Chevy in specific and supposedly she was looking for it but I never heard back. Not great customer service. I bought a truck elsewhere. This has actually happened more than once when I've been looking for new cars. They tell you that they can find whatever you are looking for but they have never done that for me. I also have used the service department regularly to get my oil changed. I drive a lot so get it changed monthly. I thought that they were doing a good job until my husband noticed that they didn't check the tire pressure and used the wrong sticker and didn't do some other things. Why am I going there when they don't do the things they say they are going to? The point of going to the dealership is presumably better service. I don't think that is the case at McNeill. I would have preferred to keep going here because I like to support local businesses, but I'm going to have to look to another dealer now. read more

Customer Beware! I paid for normal maintenance to be done on my car just to catch them charging me for them and them not actually completing the work! Wait WHAT Yes that's right They charged my credit card and tried to send me on my way. But little did they know I had marked my tires to make sure they were rotated. " they were not " Oil change was to be done " oil light was not reset and my oil still looked dirty " was it done who knows for positive but, I highly doubt it. Sad thing is? they had my car for almost 6 hours before they called to say it was completed. I have written proof of all of this including the refund receipt and the reason why the refund was returned written on there by the service manager. ZERO STARS if they would allow it! read more

decided to use mcneill swanton ohio to take vehicle in for gm recall. should not have cost anything out of pocket. instead paid 800.00 for parts said broken and should be replace. then service engine soon light comes on next day. took it back again. paid another 400. the next day engine light comes on again. back to mcneill this time needs a convertor 1200.00 now i have a service engine light on thanks to their repair work. read more

I have all Documents and Pictures to prove. For a long time now going back to when I had my 08 chevy truck. I always took it for oil change and tire rotations. I would notice little things like they for got to air tires up, or fill fluids up, or reset oil light, ect ect. then I bought a 15 and same thing, But then I started to realize that my tires were not rotated. I could tell they didn't rotate them even thought they charged me for it! however I had no proof. I raised my concern with the Service Manager. He said he believed they did it and that the reason my tire pressure hadn't changed from the time I brought it in was because the sensors were not reset. ( That's total BS please look it up like did on how they work ) Oil light was not reset ect ect. So the last time I took my wifes Malibu in and I caulked the tires so I knew what position they were in before I had taken it into them. and again it was written up that the did oil change tires rotated and car wash. car was not washed, tires were not rotated. oil light not reset. so I Called them out on it! of course they have every excuse known to man from just a lazy employee, to it must of got over looked, ect ect. My car was having what I originally thought was some complicated electrical issues. After calling around and explaining the issues I was having with the car to a mechanic he told me that I would be better off taking it to the dealership. I'm not from the area and since I was stranded I had the car towed to the closest dealership which was McNeill Chevrolet. I was told I would be charged a diagnostic fee. Dealership called me and said they were having a hard time finding the problem. They eventually called and told me they found the problem - a blown fuse. It supposedly took 4hrs of labor to find out it was only a blown fuse. I'm a union electrician and checking the fuse/circuit breaker is the first place to check. The fuse/circuit breaker is the first place the average homeowner check when the power goes out. I find it hard to believe that it would take 4hrs for a mechanic working at a dealership to discover that's it's just a blown fuse. I spent $432 to have a fuse changed. I feel like since I was stranded they knew they had the upper hand and charged me whatever they wanted. I'm certain I was "hustled". A business shouldn't profit from their workers being dumb and incompetent. read more

I have experienced both the sales side and the service side of this dealership, and neither are impressive.

I have bought two cars from McNeill before and have used their service department for the last 12 years and have always received great customer service I won't take my car anywhere else. I took 1 time to Dave white because I live in Sylvania but never again I will continue to make the drive from Sylvania because they have always provided phenomenal customer service. I wouldn't give this review to just anyone they really have always made me feel good about trusting them with my car Scott in service and Andy in parts truly care about their customers and I appreciate that. read more

I called to see about a car that I seen online. I received a call every day there after to see when I would be able to come in. I told them my situation & I was guaranteed that they would be able to help me out. I took the hour drive to get there, I looked into the car I was interested in but turned out would have a outrageous payment & a roll over because they weren't willing to pay my car off. They tried showing me other cars I wasn't interested in. I really felt because I didn't purchase a car from them that they were being very disrespectful.
