I hadn't been here in a while, but it's obvious the plague didn't do them any favors, that's for sure. We walked in, and it was fairly busy. Moderately so. Found a spot downstairs to eat. Never greeted, never acknowledged, nothing. Ok, I'm bored. So we gambled a bit. Then my husband had to go to the bar and ask for food menus. You would think this would prompt a bartender/waitress to come take our order, right? Nope, not here. If I wanted to order at a counter, I'd go to McDonalds. That's the way I felt about this. My husband ordered a giant monstrosity of a burger with a fried egg on it the egg was over cooked and not nearly as runny as it should have been. I ordered fish and chips and a salad. Salad was great. But how can you screw up lettuce and diced veggies? Whoever prepped the veggies had good knife skills, I'll say that. As every single piece of tomato, onion, and bell pepper were the most perfect uniform size that I've ever seen. My fish was over cooked and was like chewing on a rubber band. My husband tried to eat it and finish my plate and just couldn't do it. Their menu used to be a lot bigger and had some amazing things like Shepards pie. Now it feels like the chef left when the plague happened, and was replaced by a cook. So they had to dumb down the menu to fit that. They've moved things around inside, removing the dance floor they had downstairs, and making it just the area to eat. They do have several huge TVs, so watching a game is quite nice. Would I return? Not in the foreseeable future, that's for sure. It wasn't a horrible experience, it was simply a mediocre experience. Nothing fabulous, but nothing egregious either.

Corned beef, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes for St Pattys day.

Like a really good mouth orgasm... McShanes lathers it up and brings it home with the atmosphere and food... Great drinks and food - large portions.

We stop in time to time, but would not recommend or suggest any menu items, besides a great drink! It is dirty inside and that's a bummer!

I ordered the Country Fried Steak with poached eggs and gravy on the side (because I planned on taking half home and wanted to preserve the breading on the steak). The panko coating on the steak had me intrigued, but it was great! The hashbrowns were pretty tasty, although they could have been crispier. The biscuit was decent, but the flavor of the gravy and the steak brought it all together. The quality reminded me of another sports bar here in Bend that has really good breakfast/brunch foods. I can't really speak to the other dishes but my wife and daughter were very happy with their French Toast and Waffle. I'd def stop back in if I was in the area.

He hasn't quite nailed consistency yet, but it's clear he's trying. After my original experience, I wasn't sure I wanted to return. But I happened to see him advertising for a new chef not too long after, and I figured that was a good time to try again. I still love that he supports other small businesses, like the butcher shop next door, the bakery across the street, and my favorite brewery in Corvallis as well. Nothing makes me happier than seeing small business supporting each other. I have a complete love affair with their tacos every Tuesday, and my inner fat kid craves them constantly. Friday, my husband and I went in for the prime rib special. It is a 12 ounce prime rib, baked potato, and chowder or salad for $25. We also enjoyed an amazing beer from Block 15, which is like my favorite brewery ever. Service is great, I've never had a complaint there. The owner is always there working, everybody working works. The owner and chef both bring food out if the bartender is busy. It's clear nothing sits and waits. Everything is everyone's job, and I have huge respect for that. I am really glad I decided to give Twisted Duck another try, because every experience gets better and better, and I'm always happy to see a small business growing and becoming very successful.

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. Love that it was open late enough to enjoy after the concert. Will be back.

I went here on the 4th of July which is hella less annoying than 4th of July in the Mission in SF aka my hood. So my beloved Lotus Garden aka vegan Chinese food that is fab that I would frequent in the day when in lived in Eugene was closed on the 4th despite their website saying they were open and walked there to find out they only are currently doing take out. Damn like Kendrick Lamar So I walk back to Big City Gaming and the friendly bartender tells me that they have an all vegetarian menu even though it isn't pure veg aka they have non veg too. It's all good baby, baby. I am starving after walking heaps in the hard sun like Eddie Vedder. So I get some water and check out the all veg menu. Upon the bartender's suggestion I go with the jackfruit tacos. They were quite alright aka two corn tortillas filled with generous portions of fajita style grilled jackfruit, topped with cabbage, pico de gallo and our signature avocado crema sauce sprinkled with queso fresco. I decided to add vegan crema and non-dairy cheese for a buck. It hit the spot. I did feel like a fish out of water with all the screens showing baseball as basketball is my jam.
