Pretty sure my last visit to the Bier Stein. Interior still pretty plain and they do still have an extensive selection of canned/bottled beer along one wall. Not a huge beer drinker but I knew they had my Chimay Trappist Grande Reserve that I like. I brought this over to the bar so I could enjoy with a menu item. This was the first time I was asked if I wanted my Chimay in a tulip glass. Of course I do, that's the way it is traditionally served. Next I decided to try their burger. I don't even get a choice as to the degree of doneness that I would like my burger. Well done equals dry and flavorless. The pretzel bun the burger was on was extremely chewy as if it had been microwaved. I opted for cheddar cheese, which brought the price of my burger meal to over $20 for a slightly below mediocre burger. Typical lettuce, tomato, pickle and small slice of onion as a topping. I opted for seasoned fries as the side and they were mediocre as well. Still searching for a truly good burger that is worthy of a $20 price point.

Omg The Gouddhist the turkey falling out great about of bacon and saucy cheesy . 5 star for chef working yesterday around one.

Hubby and I went in for a date it's been a little while since we popped in. I knew it was going to be delicious and it was had The Gouddhist was sooooo good we always add bacon. It was a little More saucy this time which I loved and soup on point. Love love it here . Staff is always fun and the decor also funky and cool . Beer went well with everything:) thanks again for an outstanding lunch.

Stopped by here on a Sunday night after discovering other restaurants closed early on Sunday for winter hours. They have an extensive can and bottle beer coolers, and a nice selection of draft beers. We opted for their house IPA and lager selections. Everyone liked their beer choices. I ordered the bratwurst with sauerkraut. Brats were ok but really enjoyed the sauerkraut. Two got the beer cheese soup and another a Caesar salad with chicken. The beer cheese soup was good but needed to be a little warmer. My wife enjoyed her salad. I enjoyed the beer hall look of the restaurant.

This place had an amazing selection of beers! I didn't know where to start! We ended up ordering a cider, I cannot recall which one. It was delicious! They had so much to choose from in the coolers as well. We were going to stay for food, but the menu didn't have anything that peaked my interest. It's okay, they had enough beer selection, the food didn't bother me. I will be back here the next time I'm in town.

Lots of great beer options. The House beers were tasty. Lots of TVs for sports events and plenty of seating. Food menu looked good

We thought about taking the cold food home but decided it wasn't worth the effort or energy.

This place is great *if* you're coming just for the beer--especially if you prefer minimal interaction, since they don't have table service. However, I would not recommend coming here for a meal. I used to enjoy the pretzel and some of the other food, but my last few visits have been disappointing. Most recently, the food quality was just bad. My Reuben sandwich had cold meat--seriously, cold meat on a Reuben? And the pretzel was hard and cold, nothing like what I remembered. You can't order drinks through the QR code, which adds to the hassle. We ordered our food via QR code, then had to go inside and wait in line for *over 18 minutes* just to place the order. Then, to make things more confusing, the staff called us to ask if we had placed an order, and we ended up meeting someone outside to get our food--only to find that other people had taken our table while we were essentially doing the job of the servers ourselves. The staff we did interact with were friendly, and surprisingly, the busser was the person we saw the most--twice. It's just strange not to have any dedicated service in a sit-down setting. I still tipped 18%, but honestly, the experience left a lot to be desired.

I think it's time to write this review. I've visited Eugene twice and The Bier Stein has made both visits. And it's the small things that make this place so cool: 1. Like a magazine rack with brewer magazines. Am I the only nerd thrilled about this? 2. The little pumpkin stickers to mark pumpkin beers in the coolers. 3. Really cheap Pilsner glasses for sell (sadly mine broke in my luggage on the way home). I would rate the food as moderately better than bar food. Things came out hot and had the flavor of a kitchen that knows what it can do well in a reasonable amount of time. Yay, you made it this far! Trivia: T or F - The Oxford English Dictionary definition of "bier" is a ceremony of drinking malted beverages with friends and family.

Family friendly beer hall with "Gemanish" food and beer. The soft pretzel was great. The chicken cordon bleu sliders and fries were nice. Bier cheese soup was salty. Sat at the bar and the servers were excellent and helpful. Beer hall style set up with high ceilings and loud acoustics. Vibrant and lively.

    Five happy customers.

On our way to the airport from Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, five of us stopped here for lunch. That was a great decision!!! This place is amazing and it appears to be a local favorite. The service was very good, the beer selection awesome and the food was top notch. My Mac and Cheese topped with grilled bratwurst was excellent. My friend's meatloaf sandwich was delicious (he shared a bit with me) and my other friend's bratwurst with sauerkraut appetizer was yummy. The next time I visit Eugene, I will definitely stop here.

I went here specifically to try the mac and cheese at the recommendation of my boss. My friends got the chips and guac as well as the mac and cheese, and we only got a small container of guac for a big price. It was good guac, but it wasn't worth the price for sure so we wouldn't get it again. The mac and cheese was good. It was creamy and soupy which is not something I was mad at. It was perfectly cheesy and had a nice layer of breadcrumbs and melted cheese on top. My friends felt it was too soupy, but I enjoyed it and would order it again. The service was pretty good. We got our food quickly and didn't have any problems. It was pretty quiet at the time we went so we got to just look around and take in our surroundings. There was some traditional German decoration along with a wall of fridges with craft beers, which we didn't check out as none of us drink. The bathrooms were clean and easy to find. The restaurant as a whole was pretty clean and easy to move throughout. I would go back for sure.

Bratwurst Sando and side salad. Yum!

Service is terrible. The ladies at the register are rude and bitchy. Not worth your time. Don't tip them.

The interior design is cozy and booths are a nice way to catch up with a small group. I think they're still working on food consistency and getting the menu down pat. My meat-eating friends were enjoying the wings, but one larger wing had blood inside; to the credit of the server, he took it away and brought another plate of wings on the house, and no problems with the second plate. I got the cauliflower with salsa macha. The general flavor and idea for the dish were good, but the dish was SO salty that it was hard to eat. I found myself scraping off the salsa macha to create bites that didn't sting the tongue (I was pretty hungry). It seemed like someone wasn't tasting each component of the dish in the kitchen and sent out a plate that was almost too salty to eat. There aren't a ton of vegetarian options here and it's pricey, so I'm not sure I'll return. I miss the old Coldfire with DOP.

A Beer Club has been on recent lists of best beers bars in the country. From the outside it seems like just another bar in a commercial plaza, windows and bright lit beer signs in the windows. But inside it was quick to see why this place is special. To the left are fridges filled with amazing bottles and cans from mostly local breweries. The selections here are special ones, not what you can find from these breweries in a normal grocery store. There's even one door blacked out that's for members of the club, a curated selection of even more amazing things. The interior is bright and well lit, with the walls covered in bottles collected over the years. The bartender George was friendly and welcoming to my group; their tap list is also fantastic so we were able to pick and choose whatever we wanted in flight sizes. There was another employee that explained their beer selection and showed us a phone book sized binder filled with more selections! The special treat was the two gentlemen at the bar trying special bottles, who gave us the generous leftovers to enjoy and taste. I could see this place easily being a usual haunt if I lived nearby. If you're a beer fan in Eugene, this is a must-visit stop!

FOOD: ok I know most people don't need out over glassware the way I do so let's discuss the food - I went more unique with a lamb sausage and a boar sausage, plus my new friends next to me shared their fries. My opinion? Awesome. Well executed sausage, the fries were really good - crisp on the outside and still perfect potato texture inside while being hot with a fry sauce side that perfectly complemented Service was great, met regulars, had tasty food - but the whale in this adventure was the care for the glassware. This is special - the owner truly cares about your experience when they nail the small details a lot of folks miss.
