He hasn't quite nailed consistency yet, but it's clear he's trying. After my original experience, I wasn't sure I wanted to return. But I happened to see him advertising for a new chef not too long after, and I figured that was a good time to try again. I still love that he supports other small businesses, like the butcher shop next door, the bakery across the street, and my favorite brewery in Corvallis as well. Nothing makes me happier than seeing small business supporting each other. I have a complete love affair with their tacos every Tuesday, and my inner fat kid craves them constantly. Friday, my husband and I went in for the prime rib special. It is a 12 ounce prime rib, baked potato, and chowder or salad for $25. We also enjoyed an amazing beer from Block 15, which is like my favorite brewery ever. Service is great, I've never had a complaint there. The owner is always there working, everybody working works. The owner and chef both bring food out if the bartender is busy. It's clear nothing sits and waits. Everything is everyone's job, and I have huge respect for that. They were professional and personable and bantered well with everyone around the bar. There seemed to be plenty of regulars making the rounds in the early afternoon.
