While on Ft. Lauderdale beach I stopped in McSorley's Bar and restaurant. Nice place for a bit to eat and drink. I had the Greek chicken wrap. The wrap was tasty and recommended by the server. The restaurant had the Irish feel and quaintness. Service was fast .

The location of McSorley's Beach Pub provided a perfect view of beautiful Fort Lauderdale Beach. We went there on a stormy day and enjoyed watching the waves crashing onto the shore as we ate our lunch. The Strawberry Salad was of a decent size and had a variety of toppings, including candied walnuts, feta cheese, and cherry tomatoes. The waitress came by often to refill our drinks.

During our Fort Lauderdale pub crawl, we stumbled, litterally, onto this lower bar with a strangly inviting stairway to the rooftop bar. Slowly approaching the top, I caught a whiff of beer and a strong scent of weed with 1980s NWA tunes playing. We were immediately greeted by the two bubbly bartenders. We took a seat at the bar and quickly received a heavy pour of Vodka cocktails. A few other patrons were scattered about the bar. We walked out to the balcony which overlooked the amazing Fort Lauderdale beach. The DJ was playing music on the adjacent balcony where there were several tables and a second bar but no dancing yet. The bathroom was modern black on black and clean. This is my kind of bar - simple with music and stiff drinks. Valet parking is available at the Sonesta Hotel next door or public parking nearby for about $25 - $40.

This two story restaurant reminded me of a gastro glamour pub on steroids. The downstairs bar was very simplistic with a decent sized bar and TVs on the walls. The staircase leading to the roof top bar was where my friend and I were headed. I could hear the DJ playing old rap songs as I got closer to the top without twisting my ankle. The bartenders greeted us and sat down and immediately she rattled off some drink deals and food options. Not eating here but ordered some cocktails which the bartender prepared right in front of us. Prices were decent during happy hour. Not many craft beer options but several domestics. Gorgeous view of the beach from the open patio where the DJ was playing. A few college guys came in and ordered food which looked good. Fun staff and strong drinks.

We came solely for drinks and karaoke. The rooftop view is beautiful and chill. Got there around 7:30pm and had drinks looking out at the beach on the rooftop until 9pm. Karaoke started at 9pm. Karaoke host is fun and upbeat and all things a karaoke host should be. I sang a bunch of songs as my partner clapped along and a good night was had.

We went to McSorley's Beach Pub for karaoke night to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it was such a good time! The vibe is definitely laid-back and lively--exactly what you want for a casual night out by the beach. Karaoke was a blast, with a great mix of singers, fun crowd energy, and a host who kept things moving and entertaining. Drinks were strong (always a plus!) and reasonably priced, and the bartenders were quick and friendly even though it was busy. It's definitely a bit of a divey atmosphere, but that's part of the charm--it's not trying to be fancy, it's trying to be fun, and it nails that.

No wait time! We loved McSorley's! Our bartender was a whole vibe! He was nice and very welcoming. He kept us updated on our food order and drinks was made very good and tasty! We will definitely return when back in Fort Lauderdale.

We sat outside and watched people jogging up the A1A and frolicking on the beach. It's a good spot to people watch. Once we were seated, we were instructed on where the food was located, and our drink orders were taken. The worst part: There are NO scrambled eggs in a heated pan to serve yourself. That leaves you with no choice but to wait in the egg line where the chef makes your eggs for you. Boooo! What if I just wanted plain ole eggs? Or, I don't feel like waiting 30 minutes in a line to have an omelet made? It's brunch, but it really serves more of a lunch menu. It is a Mexican restaurant, so that's what you'll find. There's a make-your-own taco bar, ceviche, chips & guac, etc. But I'm a breakfast person. The waffle strips tasted store-bought (and came with syrup in a little jam container), and the mac & cheese was an afterthought. Again, probably Kraft. Luckily, once you drink enough mimosas, nothing else matters. So yeah, that's where the DJ saves the day. They also had endless margaritas, but them joints tasted TART. Those little cheesecake squares were pretty good. Otherwise, I don't think I'd come back for this brunch.

They are remodeling part of the club so we chose to eat in the bar which was functional and not pretentious as some clubs are. Our server, Dominc, was terrific. He greeted us warmly at the door, told us a little about the club given we were visiting and then proceeded to tell us what he liked on the menu which I always appreciate. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the salmon with mashed potatoes and spinach topped with crab and it was some of the best salmon I have had. My friend had a steak which was also perfectly prepared. And then just when I though I couldn't eat anymore, Dominic suggested their coconut cake. OMG! I love coconut so this cake with a center of coconut cream pie filling was unbelievable! I was only going to eat a bite but I finished the whole thing! It was dark so the view from inside was just darkness but I am hoping to go back on a beautiful day and sit outside on the patio and watch the world sail by. Service was over the top the way it should be at a private club. Since we were visiting this club, when we checked in at the front, the entire team came out to welcome us and as the local resident, they even took it as an opportunity to share with me how I could join the club it I wanted. Speaking of service, parking is valet out front and I loved that the valet graciously helped an older woman who was unsteady on her feet and was looking for something that she thought she had left in her car. He made sure she was safe on a bench and then went looking for the item which never showed up. But he made sure she had someone with her. I'll end where I began in my love for private clubs. The adage, "yu get what you pay for" is certainly true here. Can't wait to go again and see what the new addition offers. Sounds like it will be done in March 2024.

Not every resort, in fact few if any, would do this. This, to me, speaks volumes of the resort's management, and their willingness to address concerns. I had moved on, but I was surprised, and very pleased and grateful that they followed through on this. ----------- Sorry for the long review post, but if you're planning on staying here, I urge you to read until the end. My wife and I are local to the Ft Lauderdale area, and wanting to spend a couple of days at a resort by the beach, we were drawn to Lago Mar. The prices seemed reasonable, having free parking and no resort fee, so on the surface, it was already a cut above any worthwhile resort you'll find along the Southeast Fl coast. It's not until you check in that you discover that they do not allow personal beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, drinks, nor food in the common areas, pool, and beach. Naturally, if you want protection from the sun, you'll need to opt to rent the umbrella and chairs, which will run you $32, and $10-15 each for the chairs. You will also be socked with a 20% "service charge". Total $66. So much for no resort fee! Now, our stay was marred by poor weather. On the full day we were going to be there, the weather appeared to be clearing, and even the weather service said as much. So, forgetting about the food/drinks/cooler part, which didn't matter much to me, I opted to rent the umbrella and chairs, despite having brought our own. But after one hour of use, we had to abandon the beach due to the relentless rain! Now, I know and understand that the resort cannot, and should not, be responsible for the weather turning bad, but I decided to call the front desk to see if they could make an accommodation in this case. I was told that the beach equipment is handled by a 3rd party, and I could try and talk to them. So down I went, only to discover they had left early for the day. So, I contacted the front desk again, only to be, what felt like, chided for trying to see if the resort could make another accommodation, like a food credit for breakfast credit, or something. Nothing of the sort. It seemed like I got my hand slapped!!! Now, to be fair, the resort as a whole, including our room, was clean, spotless, and comfortable. The staff is more than friendly. Based on these elements alone, their high rating is warranted. But there are other things, that unfortunately, are not discoverable until you actually stay there. For this reason, I'm rating them a 3/5, and will likely not be staying there again.

Located a short walk from the first parking lot, Park and Ocean provides some much needed shade and refreshments during the South Florida summer. I had never been here before, so I arrived a little early to check the place out and reserve kayaks for my friends and I. The young lady at the desk was extremely helpful in explaining all the possible options, safety measures, and pricing. She let me know how to get down to the launch area and that there would be lockers for the things we didn't want to get wet, which turned out to be extremely helpful. We went down to the launch and were saddled with great kayaks. The lake is pretty much a straight line, so it's very good for practicing, beginners, and nice scenery. There is a little secret passage which can provide needed shade as well. We planned to have lunch there, but by the time we got done and completely rained on, the restaurant wasn't open yet. So, we used the walkway to access the beach until it was time. The restaurant boasts great local beer on tap and delicious cocktails, as well as elevated bar food and seafood options. I really enjoyed the conch fritters, which were well seasoned and flavorful. Be careful if you don't like spicy food. The young lady who was so helpful in the morning with kayak bookings also told us that the park puts on a reptile exhibition at one, so we were able to take the kids to check out. I will be back soon to try out their other menu items and drinks, and practice with my new paddle board. Hope to see you there.
