Went there to get auto repair they would have to keep it for a while just the driver seat missing some bolts seat needed a new track they said the warranty I have on it called max care would cover a car rental for a week from hertz I asked them if it's free I don't have to pay anything they said yes it's all paid for so I get to hertz they wanted a 50 dollar deposit I would get back when I bring the car back I told hertz I don't have 50 dollars until I get paid this Friday they paid for a Lyft to bring me back to the shop to get my car I told them why didn't you inform me that I had to put 50 dollar deposit down to get the rental car I told the worker in the office at McWilliams and walden you could have told me this before you guys paid for a Lyft to take me to hertz I could of told you I don't have the 50 dollar deposit for a rental car until Friday you guys in convinced me and wasted my time this is your fault McWilliams and walden not informing me they said no it's your fault for not having the 50 dollars on my bank card I said no you should let your customers know before you send them down there they said go on get out of here and don't come back and I said I won't this place is bullshit treat they're customers this way read more

I took my vehicle in for a smog check and they notified me of a few other issues I had no clue about. The most important - my brakes were almost metal on metal - yikes! I'm very thankful that they saved my family from potentially a very bad wreck! Again, I was saved when one of their employees saw me stranded changing my own tire after-hours and offered to come assist me, on his own time. Ok. $170 for a 5 minute diagnosis and another 10 minutes to put on a $10 fuel filter. It seems they relish on sticking it to the customer. They seemed to enjoy the fact that they had me by the short hairs and could really ream me. Prepare to grab your ankles and hold on for dear life if you go to this piece of garbage shop. The employees act like they're doing you a favor by charging you an arm and a leg... horrible experience all the way around. read more

These guys were so great and got us in right away this morning! They, got the issues diagnosed within a couple hours on both cars and fixed both cars by the end of the day as well! They were knowledgeable and very fairly priced. We won't take our cars anywhere else from now on. I have a 2000 Cavalier that is literally falling apart at the seams, BUT it runs great and has always had the coldest AC I've ever seen in a car....until it didn't. Turned it on, just warm air. Took it to McWillians & Walden, got the estimate...and life kind of got in the way. Three months later, I took it back. I was a little concerned because I found out the estimate was for only 1 hour of labor when it probably should have been 2 or 3, but they honored the amount. AND...I now have the coldest AC I've ever seen in a car again. YAY!! Many years ago, when they were still on Niles, my former bosses took all their vehicles to them, and were always happy with the work. I'm very happy. I needed my catalytic converter replaced and went to Bob's Muffler first, I had heard that they were one of the best in town. After being told they could do the replacement, after ordering and paying for the part, I was told that they were not equipped to do my 4 wheel drive Ford Escape...I was referred to McWilliams & Walden, who according to the staff at Bob's Muffler, were better equipped to work on a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The staff at McWilliams had me call an 800 number to see if I qualified for this program that paid $850 towards repairs and the requirements-your check engine light had to be on and the vehicle had to be running to do a pre-test. I thank Bob's Muffler for leading me to some great mechanics. The staff explained it would take a couple of days because of 4 wheel drive and I was fine with that. I got my car back and the staff went over everything that was repaired...in my opinion, it is a rarity to find honest mechanics, ones that won't sugarcoat things and explain what is actually wrong with your vehicle. I was appreciative of the work done to get my vehicle repaired and smogged. I would recommend McWilliams & Walden to anyone who wants their vehicle repaired correctly and not mickey moused just to get by. Honest! I've been really happy with the level of service I've consistently received at this shop. Moving up from LA I was in need of a reputable mechanic. I found this shop on Yelp and everyone there has been honest with me about cost and what I can expect. Even to the point of NOT selling me on services. I thought I needed a tune up before getting a smog, after a quick chat, they explained that it was totally unnecessary. Excellent shop. I'll continue taking my vehicle here so long as I'm in town. Gary and company are the best! We pulled in to Bakersfield the night before with our motorhome making a very loud, rattling soundnaround the right front wheel. Gary, the owner, said to bring it right in. We were checked in and out in under a half hour, and Gary comped us, truly a kind and helpful man. The problem, it turned out, was a loose hubcap! (We are repair doofusses). So glad we went to a local business, on referral, instead of having to wait many long hours at a large chain operation (guess who) for expensive rv service. We have decided to stay in Bfield occasionally on our frequent trips south in order to get service there, as our home base doesn't have options as good. Thanks again! read more

I firmly believed in the cliché "you get what you pay for" and I was assured that McWilliams and Walden was the place to take your car and the first posted reviews were great. I stepped into the place saw their wall of certifications and the high pricing on labor was as I expected, but I was willing to pay for quality service as long as my car was fixed. However, that belief came to an abrupt end when I brought my mom's dodge ram truck in for a brake inspection. The next day they called me and told me the truck needed all these parts to pass the next smog inspection. I agreed because the truck was a 99 and I figured being the age that it is, it would be a great investment since the truck only had 99k miles on it. Once it was done it came out to almost $1000, my parents came and picked it up. As they were driving smoke was coming from the bottom and the check engine light came on. My parents immediately brought it back and left it for them to look at. The following day they let me know that the car wasn't turning on and that there was a problem with the computer. After that I knew something wasn't right, problem after problem came it was unbelievable the list of details goes on. Throughout the year that I had the car never had it had so many problems then when I put it in the hands of McWilliams and Walden and the best part is that it came out to another $1000 to fix what was never broken. It was the worst recommendation I have ever made in my life and to my own mom, I paid $500 of that second $1000 out of pure guilt. Finally, when the truck was drivable again, it had the same problem it wouldn't turn on and a family member suggested their mechanic. I was really sick of suggestions at this point, but at the same time what made me more sick was to see $2000 invested in a truck that was given back in worse conditions than what I brought it in, so I accepted. This mechanice no where near carried the amount of certifications that McWilliams and Walden had so proudly displayed on their wall, and charged practically nothing compared to them. He fixed the "computer" problem, which wasn't a computer problem at all, it was a loose wire that wasn't making enough of an electrical connection to start the engine and he simply tightened it.
