As a bonus, Dylan dropped off my new mower on Friday even though that wasn't part of the deal. I started off with a nice zero-turn mower originally, but given the acreage, wanted more horsepower, wider deck, bigger gas tank, and full commercial grade performance. They gave me a fair trade-in and I couldn't be happier with my new Scag Tiger Cat II with a more powerful Kawasaki EFI engine. Twice the money--twice the value and then some. These machines are built like a Sherman tank and are well engineered for longevity and easy maintenance, e.g., belt/pully covers that can be removed without tools. My first mow was about 4 hours and no worries running out of gas in the middle of a big field...one of the two 6.5 gal tanks covered it.

I was at the MidTown Market on a recent Saturday morning when I ran across this booth at the very…read morecorner of the market near 21st street.This booth had this nice gentleman named Dave who was busy at work on his knife sharpening machine and I asked him a few questions to see if he could fix my knives I had at home that were so dull-he was super friendly and very informative and said he could help so I decided I would bring my knives to him the next time I was at the MidTown Market. Fast forward to a few Saturdays later and had my knives in my bag properly wrapped and I was able to drop em off at Dave's booth.He let me know he had a few knives ahead of mine but to come back in an hour and he would have mine ready. After shopping at the market for an hour or so,I went back to grab my knives and they looked great.Dave went out of his way to explain what he did to the knives and telling me the reason they were dull in the first place,made me feel like a "mini" knife connoisseur after that informative conversation.Dave charges $3 an inch to sharpen knives,so not a bad value at all for such professional service. Once I got home I had to test these bad boys out and what a world of difference. Those knives were cutting thru everything with minimal effort-I was very pleased-Thank You Dave for your excellent service. In closing-if u ever find yourself in need of having a knife or 2 sharpened-don't hesitate to head down to Reliable Sharpening at MidTown Market and have Dave work on your knives-you won't regret it.
