Doug diagnosed our built in Miele coffee maker that was over 10 years old. He had to order parts from Germany then he had to order more parts from the USA. He did a great job on a unique and difficult appliance. He was there 3 times and his fee was very reasonable. I don't think I could have found anybody else to fix this older complicated machine. Doug came out the day after my initial call and properly diagnosed the issue with my Thermadore refrigerator. He took his time troubleshooting, explained the issue and ordered the appropriate parts. He scheduled a follow-up shortly after where he showed up on time and repaired the issue. He confirmed everything was in working order and did not "rush" the repair process. I called MD appliance late in the afternoon, and they were there the next morning at 8 AM. Doug was the service man and he was courteous, professional . He diagnose the problem, and drove to shop to get the part. He returned within one hour as promised, and fixed our Kitchenaid built-in fridge. Everyone else I called was for 4-10 day waiting period to show up, Including the companies recommended by KitchenAid. Yes, I'm a real customer! Not a good experience. Doug was asked to replace a faulty spark module on a 5 burner cooktop. He arrived promptly but did not have a spark module on his truck. Apparently he assumed the problem was something simpler (like cleaning the igniter).However, this did not jibe with the facts given to him beforehand that there was no spark in any of the 5 burners. After just a few minutes on site, and without removing the cooktop lid, he announced that in addition to the spark module that the center burner needed to be replaced, and this alone would cost $840. I wanted to see this and he insisted it could not be removed due to rust. The bottom line is that I tried and it budged, and we were finally able to remove it, and it was fine... just needed minor cleaning. Now back to the original problem. I asked how much replacing the spark module would cost and the magic number $840 appeared again. ~$475 for the part (which I found on the internet commonly priced at $81.76) and ~$265 for labor (it takes 20 minutes for someone with experience to do this). I said "thanks but no thanks," and despite not helping in any way (and being offensive in assuming ignorance) he seemed happy to charge me $89 for the visit/assessment (which I assessed before he arrived). I feel like I wasted $89, but saved ~$1600 in sucker money. It is bad business to try to take advantage of people. read more

I found MD Appliance online while searching for a company that repairs Bosch microwaves. Their website boasts a good BBB rating, so I filled out a form to request service. A few hours later I received an email confirming my appointment at the requested time. So far so good. I took time off work to be home for the appointment...and...they never showed. No call, no email, nothing. Nice. I double-checked their confirmation email and yes, I did provide my cell phone number. I will look elsewhere for my appliance repair needs. read more

I am having some trouble with my Thermador in wall oven. Doug has come out several times trying to get it to work.. He is so patient...am having the the oven relay boards rebuilt and he keeps coming out to put them in. He even did some soldering to switch out relays...he has gone above expectations. My oven is a work in progress but he seems to have made it a priority to get me up and going. Thanks Doug! UPDATE 7/21/16: Doug fixed it!! EXCELLENT repair service! MD Appliance repaired our dryer a few weeks ago, it basically needed a "tune up" and he fixed it in half an hour...and then on Easter Sunday with two pans of lasagna waiting to be baked our oven stopped heating. We called MD Appliance and he was able to come out in two hours and had the oven fixed in one hour, saving Easter dinner! I wish I could upload a video because not even Shakespeare could write an appropriate ode describing how amazing Doug is! But let me try, the basics - 6 months ago it all started and he has been back multiple times, on his own dime and his own time to continue to address this issue. GE Monogram fridge, I think that this damn thing is a dud. I have had problems for a while, and it's only 10 years old. Freezer was -8 and the fridge was 50.. Something was obviously wrong. Dough has replaced boards, vents and has come back multiple times to help. He is amazing and very responsive. If he says that he'll be there between 9-11 rest assured he'll be on time. So hard to find a reliable, personable and trustworthy repair person. Hire Doug. He is awesome. read more

Not great experience. Our thermador range isn't heating up so we called them out. The technician was not friendly, but not overtly rude. He didn't appear very familiar with our range and spent quite a bit of time taking it apart. Fininally, he decided it was a broken panel and said it would be close to $1000 to fix it. We were desparate to have it fixed in time for thanksgiving so we reluctantly agreed. He said he would come back in 2 days. After 4 tries to get ahold of him and now 2 weeks later, we have given up. read more

In January my 9 year old Miele dishwasher needed repair and Doug came out very quickly for a service call. He arrived on time. He charged me what I felt was a fair price for the part and labor based on the error code he detected. That night my dishwasher stopped again and when I called back Doug promptly came back out and found that the machine was displaying a second error code. He fixed that second code for free and it has now been a month of the dishwasher working perfectly with daily use. I really appreciated his responsiveness when I called him back. With Thanskgiving coming up, I thought that I'd better get the upper oven of my double oven working again. The electronic display that contols the upper oven had died months ago. So I yelped, and rang up MD Appliance in the afternoon. Doug answered and said he could be there in an hour. Sure enough, an hour later, he came and took a look, and found it to be the circuit board. He said he had one in stock and could come back the next (saturday) morning. Again, he was very prompt and popped that baby in. The new board worked like a charm and now I have no excuses to cook up Thanksgiving dinner! Doug is very polite and considerate. After starting with another repair company that didn't know what they were doing and told us our refrigerator needed a new "computer board", we called MD Appliance. Our refrigerator wasn't properly cooling. The team that came immediately looked at the frig and told me a fan in the freezer section wasn't operating properly. For a tiny service fee (1/4 of what sears wanted to charge me) MD arrived on time, found the problem,had the parts,told me the cost to fix it...and in 20 mins he was finished and my dryer was as good as new! Well, I had to go 3 on this one. Not bad, not great. I was referred to this company through a home warranty in order to fix a broken refrigerator. Dragen (sp?) the owner of the company made an appointment for 8-10 on a saturday morning. A two day turn-around on my call, so not too bad. He showed up around 0945. It took him 5 minutes to tell me that the repair was a leak in the "sealed system", AKA the coolant had leaked out and he didn't know where or why. Bottom line, the repair was outside of his line of work. If you are an appliance repairman, and you advertise refrigeration repair, it seems a little weird that something on an appliance is outside of your wheelhouse. I can only hope that his assessment was accurate, so that the next company that comes can actually repair my appliance. Dragen was nice enough and a respectful man, but if I take the time to meet a technician I expect some results... I think I will go somewhere else next time. read more

Have used Doug many times. He was good and each time I paid him on the spot. The last few times I called and left a message that I needed his help he didn't return my call. I thought maybe somehow he was upset with me. I asked (2) of my friends to call him and make an appointment which they each did (3) times. HE DIDN'T RETURN ANY OF THEIR CALLS EITHER! I was charged $1800,00 to replace my evaporator and heat exchanger on a built in Thermador.......2 weeks later, freezer not holding Temp. Doug back again 3 days later...repaired his previous repair.Since then the refrigerator that used to be whisper quite makes a constant grinding noise and over the last 2 weeks the temp is going back up. I'm 2 week past their crappy 90 day warranty, so I'll be going to the Thermador factory guys I should have gone to in the first place.......what a frickin' rip off!!!
