I called with an urgent question, waited 3 hours for a call back, called again and expressed the urgency. After this woman was finished speaking over me...she said I might just have to come in again. Meaning, I would need to spend another $300 instead of assisting the patient and getting the doctor on the phone for a 2-3 minute phone call (all doctors are busy....not just yours). I tried going here once.... Never again. Only one doctor is there ever and homeless people use this location as an emergency room for their street fights. I felt incredibly unsafe while I was waiting. Not one person from the waiting room was seen the whole multiple hour wait because of the steady stream of underbelly waltzing in wounded. It didn't seem that clean. So quality of care - zero stars because I and a bunch of others never got any... From the moment I arrived, the receptionist was kind and the check-in process was quick and efficient. The medical assistant--whose name I unfortunately don't remember--was extremely professional, gentle, and empathetic. She made me feel safe and very well cared for at all times. Frank Pavón, NP, clearly explained the procedure and the treatment plan, taking the time to answer my questions and making sure I understood each step. Every time I've had to come in--although not very often--I've always been treated with great care and respect. I was also very pleased to receive a follow-up call the next morning. She felt totally judged by the doctor and the staff like she was a bad girl and had done something wrong. She is totally innocent and went to this office seeking compassion and care. Instead she was judged and had to insist herself that they do a blood panel. It is interactions like these that keep young women from seeking help and advice. This office needs to do a much better job in the compassion department and not make young women feel less than or like they have done something wrong. This office is my go-to urgent care center when it's the weekend or I know my primary care physician will be booked. The staff are well trained and organized and waiting is at a minimum. The office and waiting rooms are always clean. Parking is easy in their private lot next to the building. No appointment necessary. I had to see a doctor for an emergency on Friday and they took good care of me. I am improving quickly for which I am grateful. read more

What happened to this chain? I used to remember they were pretty reliable if you got the sickies late (at least at some locations). They were also open 8am to 8pm every day. Heck, even DJ Laz used to do their radio advertising! Well, now this clinic closes at 4PM Saturdays. They also no longer have an xray tech at every clinic. I came this past Monday for a sports injury and can see that this clinic is now extremely leaner and with less service than those days of yore. Apparently now the x-ray tech travels different days at different locations. Contacting the center by phone is also close to impossible. As it were, they didn't know when they would have one coming to this location again. The patient care technician, the "doctor's assistant", went as far as to tell me to "go to Baptist". That's like a Mcdonald's employee telling you to go eat at BK! To his credit, the doctor did do a physical exam and sent me painkillers. I had to ask whether to use heat or ice (both). He told me to come back for a rule out x-ray (and most likely would have had to pay a second time)..or that I could go to their competitor. So basically, because of #oldmanstatus, I ended up having to pay twice. Or, I could have gone to a larger Urgent Care, paid once and had a complete diagnosis. This was definitely a case of the cure being worse than the disease. read more

Today, I had such a wonderful experience at MD Now Urgent Care - Midtown! I needed to get my annual employment TB blood test, and the process was incredibly quick and comfortable. Laura, who took care of me, was amazing--so gentle and thoughtful. She even asked, "Are you okay with needles?" which really stood out to me. As someone who knows many people are needle-phobic, it was the first time anyone had ever checked in like that before a procedure. Receptionists we're very uninformed and didn't seem to be trained well and had to call and ask for help on almost every task. They were on the younger side which I found to be a nice surprise. Literally spoke to four different workers there and they were all a delight to speak to. Drove there during traffic, all for them to deny me and say they didn't want to prescribe me even though it showed in their system I had received it multiple times. I definitely would never come back to this clinic. Not because of the 3 hour wait time it took for me to be seen but because I had no confidence in the MD that I was seen by. Coming from a health education background and working with hundreds of doctors each year, it was very difficult to trust the clinicians recommendation. Never have I ever had medications prescribed for this chief complaint without either confirmed labs or a physical exam, which is what happened in this case. I went in with specific areas of my lower abdomen which were in pain. The initial urine test came back, and the PA told me not to worry although there were two positive markers( one was blood and one was leukocytes. Shesent me home and recommended I contact a gynecologist when I returned to New York. Told me my full culture results would be ready within 2 to 5 business days . I went to my primary care physician in New York, who called for the results which were NEVER posted to my account and said how could they not have called you and put you on an antibiotic? In addition, I still haven't received culture results posted onto my record and I created an account. This place is extremely irresponsible and has no sense of accountability. I was there on Saturday to get a dog bite and marks on my hand checked out. This was stated upon check as per protocol. While waiting, a pair of young men came in, one having his face under extreme injury and covered in blood and his friend who was uninjured helping him. Both were not under conditions to operate their phones and the receptionist helped them try to uber to the nearest hospital since they could not offer the care one of the men needed. She could not function the phone and asks for help to which she hands me a bloody phone, knowing the condition I came in with and the condition the phone was in. She did not let her supervisors know or offered any type of gloves or any type of cleaning to which I used the sanitizer provided in the lobby. When the nurse called me to get checked for my dog bite, I let her know what had happened. When the Doctor came in, she stated the bare minimum regarding my dog bite to which I expressed my concerns of my open wounds exposed to another person's blood. This added more issues to my initial reason for the visit. I had to get some lab work and come back for a follow up care. The urgent care did say they would cover the costs for the lab tests. I was told I was dismissed and would be sent my documents shortly. I had to call 2 times because they would not send me my discharge documents (my assumption is they were making sure they had all the boxes checked to cover their end). They did not send to me hours later that evening after the doctor called me to add more procedures due to my exposure and to ask me more medical questions. She also added a medication due to the exposure. When I went to pick up my medication, to my surprise, the medication I was given for the exposure to the other's blood was 15 times more than the cost of my dog bite medication AND had gone through my insurance. I called the clinic to discuss them covering the medication and to take off my insurance since this was caused by the clinic and was met with no help as they tried to shift blame on me for the situation and would not help me any further. They gave me corporates number and I emailed the email they provide on review sites and I am now waiting for a response but this is absolutely unacceptable and unsanitary for a place of medical care to be so careless with their patients and while being guilty of exposing the patient to such conditions. Horrible. Told me my medicine would be ready in 30 minutes at the CVS (who they had already contacted, I assumed). I arrive to the CVS to find out none of their stores within 20miles had the medics. Went back to MD to see if they had anything else, they told me to either drive 20 miles for a medicine or get another drug at the CVS (which they would call to change the prescription for). Once I asked them to call and send the new prescription I was told to wait about 20-30minutes for them to call. MD Now's billing dept is in one word, AWFUL. We have contacted them multiple times and even had our health insurer, Florida Blue Cross and Blue Shield, contact them about the bills they have continued to send us. Yet they still continue to bill us. We will never use their services again and based upon our experience we recommend that you look for any provider other than MD Now. read more

I showed up to MD Now at 9:30AM and was told a 45 min-hour wait so I decided to stay since I was already there. An hour later I was still waiting to be seen with one patient ahead of me. With the amount of testing options now available, this would be my ultimate last resort. Maybe I shouldn't have assumed that even though they accept insurance, the wait would be much less. I left my appointment to go to another testing center where I was able to get both rapid and regular testing in less than 15 minutes.
