I did an online check in where I noted I wanted to be tested for a specific contagious ​virus I was exposed to​. I then​ told the nurse when reviewing my chart and again when he came to test for Covid. During which he only stated the doctor would talk to me about it. Cut to an hour later and the doctor finally comes in only to tell me they don't test for that virus and I'd have to go to my primary. If they knew that why did they not tell me before! It was literally the only reason I was there and I repeated it over and over again! Besides the lack of listening skills the service was good and the doctor was very nice and wrote a note for work even though the Covid test was negative since it wasn't the disease I was exposed to. But seriously I wouldn't be so upset if the nurse had just stated they don't test for that and I would have left rather than wait an entire hour to be told. Now it's past the point I could try to squeeze in for a quick appointment with my primary, I still don't know if I have this highly contagious disease, and I have a work event that I have been told I'm not allowed miss with a note that says I don't have Covid. Tldr: nurse will not be truthful about if they can do certain services until the doctor tells you they can't. Doctor is nice. read more

Be VERY CAREFUL of this urgent Care. They are very nice if you go but BEWARE they gave my partner a wrist band for sore arm, told him don't worry the insurance will cover it. He is elderly, disabled senior. of course a couple months go by he's now getting bills for almost $200 for the $20 Walmart wristband. they refuse to acknowledge they did not verify and have left us in the wind so to speak to try and figure out how to pay. we've called our insurance with Medicare and they're not paying because they're out of network. the durable medical equipment does not answer the phone and barely returns a call when they do they're demanding payment for a senior that's living on a shoestring of a social security check. Be aware of this facility the manager and customer service they appear nice and friendly but they do not know how the system works with these types of things and I don't think they could care either way- It appears no formal degree or education is needed to run these urgent cares so keep your eyes open and try and go anywhere but this facility. thankful the new er hospital opened up three blocks away. read more

On September 25th, my daughter took my son to MD Now and was seen by Crystal B. He had a deep laceration across his finger that required stitches. He doesn't have insurance so my daughter paid $150. My daughter said Crystal B. said she couldn't stitch it because he may have tendon damage since he couldn't bend his finger ( he couldn't bend his finger because the cut was on the joint, it was swollen, he was in pain and it was bleeding). She told my daughter to take him to the ER to see a hand specialist. My daughter took him to the ER and was told by the nurse and the doctor he needed 5 stitches. If his tendon was cut, he would not be able to move his finger up and down. Of course he couldn't bend it and should not bend it because the cut was on the joint. In addition, the nurse and doctor both said, even if there was tendon damage, it should have been stitched and he would have made an appointment to see a hand specialist. They went on to say, unless his finger is almost severed or totally severed, they would not call in a hand specialist on the weekend. We all concluded Crystal B. didn't want to be bothered. When my son started to ask a question, she rudely said "let me finish". My daughter said she detected an attitude of impatience from the beginning but didn't want to say anything since she wanted her brother to get good care. Bottom line is, we paid $150 to be sent to the ER to get stitches, which should have been done there. We now have to pay an ER bill plus stitches. We literally paid $150 for a referral. My daughter has called MD Now twice regarding the charge and was told by the receptionist someone from corporate would call but she doesn't know when. It's been 11 days. There's only word for this facility: AWESOME!!! My husband went there for his high blood pressure, instead of a primary care doctor. Other than the fact that he didn't see the same physician every time, his care was great. Each doctor was EXTREMELY knowledgeable, very professional, and just plain knew everything about the subject. Then he went there because of an acute problem. The physician did an EKG, and arranged for paramedics to pick him up right there at the clinic. He wanted to go home first, but the doctor KNEW he shouldn't, and was able to convince him to go in the ambulance. That's an accomplishment in itself. The facility is super clean, the staff is ALWAYS kind, compassionate, and you never feel like they are rushing you. Oh, and there's usually hardly any wait time. read more

I got in quickly, the place was large and clean, workers nice. I saw the doctor and told him I was experiencing pain in my throat for 4 days. He did not give me any type of throat culture test, but said it's viral. He said that a script would be called into walgreens. I left and went to then was calwalgreens and they said nothing was called in. I called them and they called it in. I ended up waiting for about 30 min then the pharmacy tech alertedme that the gargle that was prescribed would be $50 and insurance didn't cover it!! Really?? So, almost 2 hours out of the house and 0 relief. So, two days later and I'm feeling really bad. Pain has now moved to lymph nodes in the back of my neck and I can barely turn my head. There is a white patchy gunk covering my tongue. Intermittent fever. I now go over to another Md now in Plantation. The doctor actually checked me out. Prescribed amoxycillin 875 mg. I've taken 2 doses as of today, and already I'm starting to feel better. Steer clear of this md now. $160 for about 1 min. with the doc, and a misdiagnosis. Who knows how bad I would've gotten had I relied on it. read more

In late January, my boyfriend and I went to get tested for COVID. Last year, we had visited MDNow to get tested on two occasions. A month after getting tested, I received a bill for $340. When I spoke to my insurance provider, I was told it was because MDNow charges a facility fee that they do not cover. Clearly, had I known and had that been mentioned to me, I would have gotten tested elsewhere whereby it would have been covered. When you visit their site, no information that the test may or may not be covered let alone a disclaimer. The lack of transparency is appalling and I feel robbed as my insurance is actually quite good, but no at the facilities I visited to get tested could even mention there may be a fee. If you need to get tested go elsewhere or take the risk of a bill you would have never expected. read more

This isn't the place to go for an emergency or any thing you need. I'm experiencing flu like symptoms so I made and appointment via online. I was advised that they will text me when they are ready. I waited a whole two hours and finally received the text so I made my way there with the horrible symptoms I am experiencing. Upon arriving I waited at the front desk for 6 minutes with no assistance. The receptionist came in from outside assisted me and advised me that the wait is extremely long and that I have 6 people in front of me and I would have to wait or leave. This is insane. Giving them 3 stars because the front desk was nice and helpful, and the doctor had good bedside manner. Wait wasn't too long even though I was a walk-in. That said, I had to call the main line 4 times after my appointment because one of my prescriptions didn't go through to CVS, and no one answered the phones at the location. But more important: I went in to MD Now on Monday with a severe cough, body aches, fever, etc. I explained to the doctor that I felt a weird crackling or rattle in my throat and chest when breathing, and that I was coughing up some nasty stuff. He literally checked me with the stethoscope twice, and was like "you're fine!" And just gave me an rx for Z-pack and some cough syrup. No chest x-ray, Bloodwork, nada. Did a strep and flu and Covid test, so I'll give them that at least. Tuesday night: I have a fever of 103, delirious, and the cough is way worse. My boyfriend took me to the ER, where they almost immediately diagnosed me with pneumonia after a body exam, which was later confirmed with blood work, chest X-ray . I understand things get missed sometimes, but I felt like this was a huge miss, since pneumonia can be life threatening. I know urgent care clinics aren't meant to be an end all be all, but it would have been nice to have a little more follow through on my concerns and additional testing, instead of having to spend 5 hours in the ER the very next night ‍ read more

Brought my son in last week. With unusual headache symptoms. Dr. Prescribed pain meds. They did blood screen never heard back. One week later, I have to bring him back in because he has stones in his tonsils, glands are swollen and are tender to the touch. We are worried he is showing signs of mono. Asked the Dr. To test him. Dr. Said only test he has in office is expired! He gave my son more prescriptions Yet we still do not have a definitive answer as to what we are treating. I had a horrible experience at this location today 2/29/24. I went online before going hoping I could try to get in and out. I've been sick for 2 weeks and just wanted to get checked and get medicine. I spoke to Makaiya at the front desk who gave me the tablet to complete registration. I completed it and handed it back to her. She asked me to fill out a piece of paper and I did. I sat down and waited. I noticed people who came in after me went in prior, I figured they registered online prior. About 45 minutes pass so I ask her if I was ever registered because everyone who came after has gone in. She said "did you register I haven't seen you" I told her we spoke twice already. She said she was having one of those days. She then tells me I have a balance and can't be seen till it's paid. I explained it must be an error because I paid my co pay last time and I have insurance. I asked to speak to a manager and she said he wasn't there. She offered me no help. What is frustrating is she could have told me this 45 minutes ago. She never fully registered me for an appointment. I left and instead went to Carespot down the road. Went here because my son had flu like symptoms. To start, they have a sign in sheet with all of the people who have visited that day on there. NOT okay. It was pretty to get in and see the doctor. He was not very personable. Pretty dry. He explained he wasn't going to test my son for the flu virus that was going arpound because he didn't think he had the symptoms of it and they were "running low on tests". I insisted they give him the test. I was there for precautionary measures and wanted to be sure my son was in the clear. My experience at this location was beyond awful. I was given critical medical advice from a staff member named Haley--who was neither a doctor nor nurse. She insisted that I did NOT need an EKG--although she wasn't qualified to offer medical advice. I asked thirteen times for the name of her supervisor (yes, I counted!), and she refused to give me a name. The sad news is that my suspicions were correct. I came here because of the reviews but was disappointed. The receptionist was ok and so were the nurses but there was several issues with my visit. First of all the wait in my opinion was excessive. It took over an hour to see the Dr even though the place seemed to be completely isolated. Secondly, and my biggest issue with walk ins is that they don't really seem to know what's going on. After 2 minutes with dr he was going to leave when I asked him to please listen to my chest. I came in with bronchitis symptoms and I would imagine this is something they would proactively do and not wait for the patient to tell them. Five days later I am in a hospital with full pneumonia that was extremely severe. The doctors still haven't given me the ok to go home. Do yourself a favor and take care of yourself and go to a real doctor or a real emergency room in a hospital. I wouldn't recommend visiting this location. What a waste of $150, time, and more importantly putting my health at risk with people that don't know what they are doing. read more

The waiting room was clean and welcoming, and the staff at the front was sweet. I did have an issue with my social needing to be written down but I realized after I left the desk, she left my social sitting there in plain view of other clients. The gentleman who called me back was very nice. But once I got in the room with the doctor I was immediately uncomfortable. I don't think he even told me his name. Made fun of me for coming in for a sore throat. That I should've waited a week. I wasn't sure what was wrong, all I knew is I couldn't swallow any food or water. I was very disappointed with my last visit the doctor was in a hurry and not attentive at all. I gave a urine sample when I asked about the results he said they didn't do it it wasn't necessary then walks out of the room to talk to the nurse left the door open and my husband and I overheard him say to the nurse that he had other things to do that he didn't have time to wait an hour for the urine test that if she wants to wait that's on her. VERY RUDE. bottom line to discharge her. When they sent me the discharge papers they put like they ran the test and never even did. I will call my insurance and file a complaint. This urgent care was exactly what I needed. I was in and out pretty fast. I believe it was under an hour from in the door to out the door, which included filling out the new patient paperwork. All for a $149 visit (no insurance), and then using GoodRx, I got the two prescriptions I needed for $30 total. So under $200 for everything, when we thought I might need an ER which would have been quite a bit more. Everyone in the office was friendly. I'm not sure why it has such a low score here. read more

On Sunday the 7th of October, I had taken my wife to Urgent Care for a swollen left foot. I didn't know if she has gotten bit by a spider or ant. We were seen by Dr. Ruthman. When my wife showed her her foot, Dr Ruthman just looked quickly at it without feeling the swelling or even suggesting an X-ray even though they had a machine in the back. So without further investigation, she said to my wife she didn't know what it was. We paid a $75 fee for walking in. Dr Ruthman gave her a scrip for Keflex 500 mg. Today, 3 days later, and no progress, I took my wife to an ER. They took xrays and sonogram. The results? Cellulitis. She was given a medication for it. My wife was very happy with the results. As for MDNOW Urgent Care, not so much. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you have the sniffles read more

This MD Now location in Sunrise is very clean. I have used this facility on several occasions in situations where getting into my family doctor is not possible. The receptionist staff has always been pleasant and professional. The nurses have also always been professional and thorough and pleasant. The doctors, however, seem to spend very little time with the patient. Between my husband and myself, we have been patients at least six times and only twice did the doctor tell us their name. I would say the most valuable contribution from the doctors has been the fact that they can prescribe the medications needed to cure the illness. I should mention that my husband cut his hand and it required several stitches. The MD Now physician was excellent. I was so happy we had this facility to go to instead of a hospital emergency room. All in all, this MD Now location will remain our "go to" place for minor medical emergencies. Urgent Care facilities provide a very vital service. read more
