They did come out on a Sunday , and did fix my leaking pipe , but the owner Mark is difficult to work with. He and his assistant disappeared ( to pick up supplies) for two hours , for which I was charged . His price was over the top high and I feel he totally overcharged me for the job. read more

Called a couple places and they were all booked except for this one. The plumber came very promptly and was able to solve the problem we had in the shower fairly easily. The labor is pretty expensive but the plumber was nice enough to give us a discount so if you are in need of quick service and don't mind shelling out more cash this place is fine. Note*: The problem was fairly simple, the insides of the knobs were broken so the water wouldn't actually turn off when we turned it to the "off" position. read more

Mark Dermick will refer to his extensive experience and scare you about ugly worst case scenarios (which are hard to dismiss with plumbing issues). It's a tactic to get you to agree to his outrageous prices on the spot. I fell for it once and paid the bargain price of $1000. Won't ever know what I actually should have paid. Yesterday, I called him again for a toilet repair. He looked at it and quoted $375 plus parts, but said he couldn't warranty his work because it was such a complicated situation. I trusted my instinct this time, refused and called another local plumber off yelp. Fixed today for $185 TOTAL, plus a warranty on work performed. Bingo. Just do yourself a favor and get a second opinion. If no one else but Mark is available in an emergency, wonder why. read more

This review is way overdue. I called MD Plumber a long while back to help with a plumbing problem. Unfortunately I had to run to work, leaving my elderly father to deal with them (or for them to deal with him). They came over right away, diagnosed and communicated the problem to me by phone, fixed the problem promptly, and was nice to my dad. Very fast, professional and easy to work with. read more

I had a very different experience than the other posters here, ultimately. Mark showed up on time, and called to say he was coming, which was good. He seemed very professional. He charged me $500 to reseat a toilet, replace a valve and fix a sink leak. His total time spent was less than two hours, and only $50 was for materials, so I think the hourly rate is pretty high. I also had him reattach the feed line to our icemaker. We had had hardwood floors put in the kitchen (and the rest of the main level) the day before, which was why we needed the toilet reseated. He did not properly protect the floors before pulling out the refrigerator, and as a result, two sets of long grooves were pressed into the floor. I just got a repair estimate of about $600. I didn't notice the damage until he had left, and when we called him back, he denied any responsibility, and then threatened to sue us! I suppose if you have unlimited financial resources, as well as little regard for the appearance of your home, Mark would be a good plumber to hire. read more

I'll start with a summation: Over priced, unprofessional, and based on conversations with other plumbers regarding my situation, either inexperienced or willing to do uneccesary work. Over priced: I had them clean a drain and the total cost was $200, and that was supposedly a "deal" because my tenant knew the guy. I've had others out for the same reason for half the price. Because the problem came back (through no fault of theirs, it was already a chronic issue) I inquired about running a camera in the pipes and was told it would cost about $400. In speaking with another plumber I was quoted $200-$300 for the same service. Unprofessional: I had an appointment (to run the camera) but had to postpone it one week. In the conversation to reschedule I confirmed the date and time of the new appointment to make sure that we were on the same page. 30 mins before the new appointment, having received no confirmation call, I called to make sure we were on. The response was that they didn't know the appointment was still on because I hadn't called to confirm. Um... anybody here own/run a business? Do you wait on customers to confirm with you, or do you take that as your responsibility? Exactly. Inexperienced: After finding that I had no appointment I called other plumbing services. I spoke with one (highly rated) plumbing service who actually referred me to another that specializes in the camera procedure. He told me, based on my description of the situation, that the camera would be useless and that and that I would be better off just spending the money on the repair that likely needed to be done anyway. Mind you, this new plumber doesn't do that work, and therefore had no stake in my decision. Considering the fact that MD Plumbers had direct experience with my drain, I think they should have known and shared the same information. In the end, I'm happy that the appointment was broken. I'm tempted to recommend others in this forum, but I feel bad enough skewering any business. Still, this is my experience. read more

I called to request service for a backed up sink and after answering a few questions, was told that the problem wasn't in my unit, but rather in common piping in my building. Rather than just come out to 'fix' the problem and bill me, he suggested right up front that I call my HOA. So while I can't vouch for the quality of work, I can certainly vouch for their honesty and professionalism! read more

We were very pleased with the service we received from MD Plumbers. We had a leaking faucet and pipe. We had someone else attempt to fix it with no luck. MD Plumbers were able to assess the issue quickly, order the part needed, and return to fix it, so we didn't need new hardware/new faucet, which was also mentioned to us by someone else. Bottom line - prompt and professional service. While at first I thought the quoted price was a bit high for what I was asking, once the job was completed, Mark (the owner) told me that he was lowering the price by approximately 27% because it turned out to be less complex than he estimated. I really appreciated this - having priced several jobs in the past, you always want to build in a "Murphy" factor and (at least for me) I'm happier to bid conservatively and then pass along a savings to the customer if it turns out to be easier vice continuing to tack on more and more cost as I discover more complexity - it's not always this straight forward, I understand. Overpriced and they left my house looking like a tornado hit. I had just had my carpets professionally cleaned and after this plumber came, I had muddy spots throughout the carpet. They carelessly left my bathroom in a state of chaos and then the problem they "fixed" happened again two days later. Ugh. Save your money and call someone else! read more

The guys that came were very helpful and identified the problem within minutes. They ran off to the store to get parts that were not common to carry and were back within minutes to perform the work. I mentioned Yelp and they were able to give me the discount. They were even able to come out on the weekend to perform the job, so I did not have to take time off of work and was able to fix the problem in one day, no problems. They had given me a 2 hour window of when they would arrive and they came mid-way through the window with a phone call letting me know they were on their way. The overall experience was great, I just wish fixing things that break wasn't so expensive! read more

I now have used Mark @ MD Plumbers twice. Both times he was upfront and honest about fees as well as the existing problems I was facing. The second time I was in a complete emergency and he was at my house within minutes, diagnosed the problem, and went out to east county to get a very specific part.
