Travis recently replaced our 30g tank water heater with a 40g tank in our newly-purchased 1958 home in Serra Mesa. The existing tank was about 10 years old and had started leaking into the containing drain pain pretty significantly. The tank was also leaning and had a number of other issues with the installation mentioned in our home inspection. It was also in a tricky location in the middle of the house but he was able to move things around and fit a 40g tank (our request, not an upsell). He addressed and resolved all the existing issues mentioned in the inspection and did an overall fantastic job of installing the new unit, supply lines, etc. He was professional, courteous and didn't hesitate to answer all the random questions I had. I've actually replaced a water heater myself before in a different home where it was in the garage (easy access) and I've sweatted plenty of copper tubing over the years so I could certainly recognize the professional quality level of his work. As far as price, I thought it was very reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to call on him again for any water or gas plumbing work. read more

Never send a boy to do a mans job. Had a main line issue and went through home warranty to get a plumber to resolve the issue. A company came out to "clear out line" only to spend about 15 minutes to say that the snake wasn't long enough and needed a 125' line. He likely made the clogging worse! Spoke to Travis (owner/operator) at Vessel and he was friendly, knowledgeable and came through in the clutch! Travis had all the proper equipment to diagnose and was working on site within 20 minutes of initial call! Hate to call out another company but a spade is a spade! Travis, Vessel Plumbing's owner, showed up to review my sump pump issue, on time and in person. After I had received a bid from another company based on 10 minutes of them "thinking" (not looking/touching/turning on water) what the problem might be, Travis had the forethought to actually TEST and diagnose while he was there, taking an extra 15 minutes to remove panels, turn on water and discuss all options and costs up front, and at a price that was fair, included labor and was less than the competition! Wow! Solution focused all the way! His follow up was meticulous, texting the date and time that he was available to complete the necessary work, while accommodating my schedule as well. Work was completed in a timely manner, with no surprise up-charges. Job site was immaculate afterwards and Travis took all scrap offsite for disposal. Professionalism is top-notch quality! When our tub drain was clogged, we called Travis at Vessel Plumbing. Travis was clean, courteous and even asked if he should take his shoes off at the door. He was extremely patient and took the time to demonstrate what to do in the future if the drain clogged again! Because it took him all of 10 minutes to remedy our slow flowing drain, he also took the time to check our water pressure (free) as well as offered to scope our sewer for an additional fee. Since we knew it was only a matter of time until we needed to get our sewer repaired as we had cast iron sewers, I approved the work and Travis proceeded to show me what my sewer looked like and its condition. A previous plumber who scoped our sewer during our home buy process quoted just over $18,000 to do the work of relining our 100 feet of sewer. Travis was honest in his opinion and gave us his recommendation of cleaning the sewer line with a picote system and repairing an area of root intrusion which came out to around $3,000. However, for peace of mind, I had him bid for relining our sewer. His price was more than fair and almost half of what the initial bid was. The relining process took about two days. Travis kept me well informed throughout the entire procedure. The first day he came and dug out around our cleanout to prepare our sewer for relining. The digging looked brutal! The next day, the relining crew and Travis came and removed the cleanouts, relined the sewer, replaced the cleanouts, and backfilled the hole. We were able to have running water as soon as the cleanouts were reinstalled, which was roughly about 5 hours. This was amazing as digging up and replacing a sewer line would be exponentially more expensive, and a significant inconvenience. After doing all this work, I am hopeful that I never need to call Travis again! I am happy with the work that Travis has done, and extremely grateful to have crossed paths with such a professional plumber. If I ever run into problems with my home's plumbing, I would call Travis in a heartbeat! read more
