My project request included the following: -- Front yard update: removing existing grass and cement bar, adding new astroturf, 6x6 cement slab, adding Decomposed Granite garden and 50 Gallon preformed pond. -- My Backyard request was to remove 1 pergola, and dividing wall, new astroturf, Decomposed Granite side and back wall with plant decor, new valves and sprinkler system. Lastly it included adding in an outdoor kitchen. It took less than 2 weeks start to finish M-Sa, and with 6-7 guys each day. They cleaned up after themselves each day and kept the haul away area to a specific area. They didn't play loud music. Just had an overall good work ethic. I'll let the pictures do the rest...

Everyone on the team was really nice and I was very pleased with the way that they set up/prepped before and cleaned up after the job was done. Luis and Bree are a great team to work with from start to finish. Communication was fast and they helped with every step of the way from design to purchasing to following up with every concern no matter how small. I have my spa bathroom that I've been waiting a very long time for now! Many thanks to their whole team. Long review: We had a bad experience with a company (not Tincopa) that was supposed to repair a leak that was coming up our upstairs bathroom. They tore out our shower floor without asking and didn't actually repair the leak as promised. Tincopa was able to find the leak and tell us what actually happened very quickly. Wish we would have found them first! From the start Luis and Bree addressed all of the concerns that we had about budget and let us know what we were going to be able to realistically do. I messaged Bree A LOT about design choices and she had really great suggestions for everything from tile to fixtures and even ideas for storage. She helped get everything ordered and they kept it in their warehouse. She had suggestions for where to go shopping for tile and was able to help us purchase things and the team picked them up. It saved us a lot of money on delivery fees. I would not have been able to find some things on my own like a gorgeous Taj Mahal quartz ledge for the shower. Luis was on the job site for the start of each part of the process to make sure things went the way they should be. If a new person was going to be in our house he was there to introduce them and tell them what was supposed to get done. This really helped to ease my concerns about things going well. The last people we had where it went wrong was because it was a game of telephone and the person who promised to be on site was not. Every person on his team was very friendly and respectful as a woman I think that's such an important part of who to hire. I felt comfortable and safe with everyone on his team that was here. My dog also liked everyone here which I think says a lot too! Shout out to Alberto and Leo (tile) for all of the great work they did. They did full prep work putting up plastic barriers to seal off rooms and on the floor where ever anyone would be walking. They swept the patio after they were done as well. Everyone showed up on time and Luis was great with communication about when and who would be showing up. Any questions we had were followed up with an answer very quickly and many times Luis showed up at our house to talk in person so that he could see exactly what we were asking about. I appreciated the walkthrough meetings that we had so that we could get exactly what we wanted from the exact height of fixtures to where we wanted the toilet roll holder to be installed. What made it even scarier was that my wife and our newborn were home when it happened. It was one of those moments where you immediately realize how serious the situation could have been. We later learned the AC unit in the attic wasn't draining condensation properly, so water had been pooling above the ceiling until it finally gave way. We were referred to Luis and gave him a call. He and his team stepped in quickly. They addressed the water damage, repaired the ceiling structure properly, and got the house back to move-in ready in under a month, which honestly exceeded our expectations given the extent of the damage. We also had a LOT of belongings to work around, and their team was extremely respectful of the rest of our home. They were careful about dust, debris, and protecting our things, and they kept the work area contained so the rest of the house stayed clean. Luis checked in with us often and shared progress updates throughout the repairs and that level of communication gave us confidence every step of the way that we chose the right contr. We're genuinely thankful for the care, workmanship, and timely execution. TLDR: I signed a contract for a project. Owner requested a deposit that was well above the max limit (10% of project cost or $1000, whichever is the least). I provided a deposit not knowing any of this. I terminated the agreement well before the owner and company set foot on my property. I repeat, NO WORK WAS ACTUALLY DONE! I requested a full refund based on agreements made through emails. Owner can't be bothered and hardly responds unless you escalate things to BBB, CSLB, or through Bond Insurance Claims. AND here we are today... On paper (yelp profile and company website) the owner is all lip service: "Built with integrity, high standards - 100 percent satisfaction guaranteed!" GTFOH with that! When he isn't busy posting personal IG stories of him getting surgery, covid, meal preps, or OOTD on his company's IG account, then he'll make some effort to mansplain how customer service works and how his non-registered salesman is providing me an education lesson of some sort. The owner really wanted me to believe he was also charging me for DESIGN WORK! TF, really? I provided my own illustration and design with my own design software. I provided annotations and inspo images to the non-registered salesman. The project was based off of my actual design work that I provided. AND you're going to say you provided me with a design? If anything, it was collaborative where I provided a design and ideas and your team fetched and updated quotes, BUT oh yah, you guys are the educators. Bruh, like I get that it's an inconvenience to you that I'm actually doing my own homework comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges. I get that less questions are better for you. Say less, right? All I'm trying to say is, if you want to charge me for "customer service" and "education lessons", state it upfront in your contract and not after everything is signed. No one on your side has bothered to explain or include verbiage in the agreement in regards to: - Missing notice regarding the CSLB - Missing notice of 3-5 Day Right to Cancel (or any cancellation for that matter) - Missing notice regarding general liability insurance. - Exceeding downpayment of $1,000 or 10% of project, whichever is least To all the potential clients or any consumers for that matter, be sure to DYOR! IMHO, you can DYOR at any stage of the process. Make sure to document, document, document!!! Keep records of everything. Create a timeline of events when planning a project with any company. You, as a consumer, have the right to question anything and have the right to keep other options open, unless stated in contract. If they have the right to refuse service, then you should have the right to terminate an agreement if no cancellation policy is explained or written in the contract. Good Riddance!
