Tony even went out and searched for the best matching stone to complement the existing space (other contractors did not offer this service-they suggested we go hunt for it). My wife and I have a new-build that required additional landscaping of our backyard. We eventually decided to go with California Outdoor Living after reading all their positive reviews on yelp. In addition their quote was very competitive if not the best when looking at other contractors. We already had a design in mind for JC which made the process very quick. Although there was some misunderstanding with the design and drains throughout the process, JC was always responsive with his texts and quick to make adjustments. The moment we got our design approved by our HOA, the construction happened VERY FAST. We emailed California Outdoor living on a Wednesday evening of our approval. The very next day (Thursday), JC arrived to go over the outline. I do appreciate how fast things were done, but it was almost to a fault at times. They were ready to go by the next day but my wife and I didn't feel like we had discussed the plan and execution thoroughly enough. On Friday the construction workers were already digging out our backyard. They spoke only Spanish so communication was very difficult to ensure if our plan was executed appropriately. By Saturday all of the pavers were laid out. Construction was incredibly fast but because of that some details were lost in translation. We discussed with JC that we wanted an 11x14 ft paver island. However the final dimensions was 12.5 x 12.5 feet. We also wanted all the walls of our backyard to be lined with turf. However the paver border ran too close to one of the walls, that putting turf did not make sense. They only left 1 inch between the wall and the paver (see attached image). We appreciate how fast the work was done. The overall work was great BUT not exactly what we wanted. We felt rushed with the whole construction process. However everything was done in less than a week which was incredible! In addition, once the turf was laid out JC noted that window reflections from both our neighbors and our own windows would cause damage to the turf. He informed us this can happen sometimes. Going back to rushing things and not being thorough, we wished JC took the time to look at our backyard and factor in this possibility. If we had known the reflections could damage this area we would have changed our turf design. At the end of the day they are just executing our design, but it's these minor things that left us feeling like our backyard could have been better. However we are still very thrilled with the overall speed and communication done throughout the process! Would still recommend this company. But these small critiques are definitely something to keep in mind for future clients.

I would not recommend this company. Their lack of attention to detail made the entire experience…read moreunpleasant. The drainage tube was installed with the slope going the wrong direction, and the walls were not properly covered before the concrete was poured, leaving concrete splatter all over the side walls. The concrete also cracked less than three days after it was poured. It was poured on Monday morning, and on Wednesday the artificial turf guy was using a large plate compactor right next to the two-day-old concrete. I believe the vibration from that equipment contributed to the cracking. When I spoke with JC about the issue, he told me that concrete will crack sooner or later and that is why they do not warranty cracks. Concrete was poured directly on top of the soil, no gravel was brought first. While I understand that concrete can crack over time, I did not expect it to crack before I had even made my final payment. Despite my disappointment, I paid the remaining balance. After that, I never received any follow-up confirmation that the payment was received , or even a simple thank you.

We had a wonderful experience with Munoz Construction and are extremely happy with our new courtyard! The project involved demolishing our existing outdoor tile and planters and replacing everything with pavers throughout the space. The finished result exceeded our expectations and completely transformed the area. What really stood out was how professional, kind, and courteous everyone on the team was. Communication was excellent from beginning to end. They always let us know when they would be arriving, kept us informed of the project's progress, and checked in regularly to make sure we were happy with every step of the process. The crew treated our home with care, kept the work area clean, and left everything tidy when the job was complete. We were especially impressed that they also took care of some stucco repairs that weren't even part of the original project. Before hiring Munoz Construction, we obtained several quotes from other companies. We found their pricing to be fair and reasonable, and the quality of workmanship was outstanding. I was looking to replace our existing concrete porch with something larger and more appealing, and found Munoz Construction on Yelp. Yobany was very flexible in arranging a time to review the project and provide an estimate. He was also able to start much more quickly than expected. His cost was very reasonable and his work included demolition, haul-away of old material, prep and cleanup, installation of decorative brick inlay per my request, and ultimately rebar and concrete. Every day for a week I drove by my neighbor's house and I saw a crew working like a NASCAR pit crew on a wall, fence and some decor. When it came time to move a retaining wall, I bid the job out. Jobany was slightly higher than the lowest bid, but I made the right choice. After tolerating several different fencing companies and the variety of job estimates, we were…read morepleasantly surprised when we met Josh Tucker of AJM Construction. A Company that his father founded over 40 years ago, providing a variety of construction services. Josh made an appointment within a few days and was extremely professional and knowledgeable in providing an estimate via email the same day. The terms of partial payments were in accordance with State Contractors law and regulations. I mention this because we had two estimates that wanted 50% or more up front which is a huge flag and also illegal. Having a shared rear yard fence replacement done means coordinating with your neighbors. Josh was easily agreeable in meeting with our neighbors at their convenience and providing separate billing invoices for the shared costs. After scheduling almost 3 1/2 weeks later we had an installation date. Suddenly I was hospitalized and this meant my wife was very busy. I felt confident, as did she, having Josh and his crew go ahead with the work without any immediate supervision from us. For the 3 1/2 days the crew worked incredibly well in making sure everything was handled. This was a great relief to both my wife and I. Another plus was Josh and his crew handling everything. With Josh on site each day, they removed the old wooden fence, trimmed tree branches that were obstructing the new fence line, and chipped out the older post concrete. The post holes were widened, new pressure treated posts set, followed by new concrete poured to above grade to prevent wood rot. With the string line up, new redwood fencing was assembled after being primed. Once up, the fence was painted with two additional coats of two different paints. White for my neighbors to match his side fences and an off white matching our stucco retaining wall below the fence line planter. Great care was taken by the crew to cover all plant life and trees from paint and damage. We would highly recommend Josh and his family business for any of your Construction needs. The crew of Josh, Trinidad, and Alberto were extremely clean, professional, kind and thorough in their work on our fence and surrounding property.

Omer was great to work with throughout the project. He was responsive, involved, and willing to work with us on changes to the layout and finishes as we went along. The crew was professional and respectful of our home, and they did a good job keeping the work area clean and organized. There were a couple of minor issues during the project, which is not unusual with a remodel, but Omer addressed them promptly and made sure they were taken care of. That responsiveness was important to us. We are very happy with how the final bathroom and new room turned out. The design came together really well, and the finished result is something our family is very happy with. He was very professional and we had great communication through completion of the project, exchanging multiple email messages and phone calls. The crew was always on time, efficient and responsive to my requests and cleaned up well at the end of each work day. I also retained them to replace my damaged wood sidings and trims. Martin did a great job custom making wood panels for me as my residence is relatively old and no sidings matching the original ones were available in the market. They completed this job efficiently as well. I found this family owned business trustworthy and will continue recommending their services to friends and family.

They discovered things that weren't done properly and did their best to keep our costs down knowing that we were essentially paying twice to have the deck fixed. They finished in the time they promised and didn't even hesitate or push back when I asked them to address some minor details about the fence. They're professional, knowledgeable, communicative - everything you want in a contractor but usually can't find all at once. Highly recommend if you want a deck done right the first time.

We asked for a complex, multi-tiered built-in bench to be integrated into our retaining wall, and they nailed the exact child-safe, flush-front design we wanted. They also laid down a massive patio area with a custom floating diamond paver inlay that looks stunning.
