    Spicy Jalapeño Bites

After seeing a commercial that expanded the $5 before 5 menu that adds a smaller calzone and a jalapeño, pepperoni and cheese bites. Got two of the calzones with linguisa, the bites and personal pepperoni pizza for three of us. All was good.

Love this Me-N-Ed's location. They get four stars for their signature thin crust. Plenty of parking spaces. Staff is super nice and helpful. The atmosphere is nice and the pricing is for their quality ingredients. Come here when you are craving for a good thin crust pizza; Definitely satisfying.

(4/5) This was my first visit to this Me-N-Ed's location, and we came in on a busy evening. They had a lot of takeout orders going, and the staff definitely looked a little stressed, but still managed to be helpful. The gentleman at the counter took our order quickly he seemed in a hurry, but I understood given how busy they were. Our pizza took about 30-35 minutes, which was fair since it came out fresh and hot. While waiting, I grabbed a salad from the salad bar and a soft drink. The salad bar could use a little improvement some of the lettuce was brown or soggy, so I had to pick through it to make a decent plate. We ordered our pizza to go but chose to dine in and then take the rest home. The dining area itself was really nice: clean, spacious, with lots of TVs showing sports. I liked that they had a private room for parties and outdoor patio seating as well. The booths were large and comfortable, easily fitting 3-4 people per side. The pizza was tasty overall, but the center was more doughy than I'd like, even though the bottom was crisp. Still enjoyable, but definitely something they could fine-tune. Overall, the staff was accommodating despite the rush, the atmosphere was great, and the food just needs a little bit of improvement. I'll definitely be back to give this location another try because I do love Me-N-Ed's!

Me-N-Ed's... the struggle is real with this place as It's consistently inconsistent. Thankfully this new location in the Loma Vista shopping center has been on point the last two times we've ordered here. This visit we got a large three topping pizza, a personal cheese pizza, and two 1/2 lb orders of boneless wings. The crust on the large pizza was crispy, finally! I love a good crispy crunch and more often than not, Me-n-Ed's crust is a little floppy. Our three toppings were black olives, canned mushrooms, and sausage. I love that they use real sausage versus the mini sausage balls that most pizza places use. Canned mushrooms?! I know, I felt the same way, but my wife loves them and I've really come around on the idea. They do offer sliced mushrooms as well. The boneless wings are pretty standard, but still tasty. We order one 1/2 tossed in mild buffalo sauce and they pretty spicy for mild, I love the heat. Highly suggest the getting them tossed in their teriyaki sauce. So good! This location is brand, brand new and has a large outdoor patio that is almost always in the shade, so come fall, this will be great place to eat and hang.

Overall, it was good, yet in our humble opinion, the sauces need some serious tweaking. Presentation of all the food was very good. We ordered two appetizers to start. One was a posted special of steak bites, and the other was a menu item Boule Stuffed Bread. For the bread, think of a buttery garlic paste maybe injected into the center of a large roll of bread. It's certainly a different way of preparing it, and it worked for us. We really liked it. The steak bites were a split decision between us. My wife didn't like them, I did, with a caveat. I was impressed when asked how we wanted them, medium rare, of course. There were 10-12 bites of steak, presented nicely with a dipping sauce in the middle. The bites were cooked as requested, and I thought tasted good. The sauce needs some help. I dipped about a third of my bites. The sauce had a very strong sense of Worcestershire sauce. I grew up with parents who used Worcestershire sauce on steaks and hamburgers, so it was a bit of a reminiscent journey for me. On the other hand, it's probably not a sauce appropriate for a kitchen pivoting to be upscale. My wife ordered the grilled salmon. Instead of the rice posted online menu, it was served on a large bed of garlic pasta. That change in itself is nothing to be concerned about. The salmon was delicious! It was a good size serving, and well prepared. The garlic pasta needs its sauce refreshed. We are garlic people. Love it. But the garlic on the pasta was so overpowering it took away from the pasta far more than it gave. My wife saved the pasta to take home, where she tamed it down a bit to serve with a home dinner later. I ordered the 14 oz ribeye steak. It was served with a sweetcorn & hash, chili risoto and charred chamoy glazed vegetables. The risotto was good, not phenomenal. It might be because I've never had risotto with those ingredients before. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, it just was a new experience for me. The glazed vegetables were another new experience. At a lot of restaurants, they serve roasted/grilled mixed vegetables--and served pretty much the same, butter and garlic. I applaud Dosan for going with a different route. Again, I wasn't overwhelmed, but I also enjoyed it. The steak is a personal preference thing. I love a great steak, and a 14 ounce ribeye is something I needed to try. Steaks of that weight can be thick with a smaller diameter, or thin and larger. My preference is thick. Dosan's style is thin and large. When it came out, I was worried about how it was cooked and the taste. It was prepared perfectly to my medium rare request, and seasoned perfectly for me. I really enjoyed it. I asked them to pair a glass of Cabernet with it, and received a wonderful Mondavi that was a great compliment to it. Thanks to the steak bites appetizer, I wasn't able to finish the ribeye, so I took about half of it home for a future steak sandwich. We skipped dessert because we were full. This was the first time in the building, regardless of prior owners/operations here. We have a group of a dozen friends who we go out to dinner once a month. We're always looking for a new place to try. It's our turn to pick next month, so this was a test run. The layout looks great for our needs as they have areas that could easily accommodate us. The service staff were great too. Yet, because of the sauces, we're hesitant to bring the group here just yet. We're hoping that as Dosan's continues its pivot to fine dining and the sauces get worked out. When it's our turn to pick a place next time, we'll test here again, but that will be in about a year. Hopefully they are still in business and have completed their pivot. I want to see them succeed. For now, I'd encourage you to try this place and decide on your own. We saw other dishes being served, including sandwiches, that looked really good.

We were promptly seated on the patio, but after 15-20 minutes we left without ever being served. Not one staff member acknowledged us. We still had all our menus on the table, no water, and even had a highchair brought to our table after we asked our server to bring it to us when we were seated--so it was obvious we were there and had not been helped. What made it worse was that the tables around us were seated after us and received water, drinks, and even an appetizer from the same server, while we were completely ignored. When I spoke to the manager on the way out, instead taking ownership, her first response was an apology followed by, "The host must not have told the server." That may explain it, but it doesn't excuse it. The manager had a great opportunity to own the mistake and try to make things right. Instead, she offered an excuse. Very disappointing experience.

We headed in at an odd time yesterday around 230pm. It was late for lunch and too early for dinner. Nevertheless, we were seated in the front dining area, and ordered some entrees. The menu offers a lot of familiar favorites that you would expect to see at a a bar/ restaurant. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a few specialty plates. For my meal, I ordered The Local burger (no pickles of course) which was absolutely fantastic. Piled high with cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes - this burger was executed to perfection. I ordered it medium, and it came out medium (imagine that). The best part was the sunny side egg that was placed on top. That first bite was heavenly. The yolk breaks, and all the goodness adds a little extra flavor to the already delicious burger. The shoe string fries were seasoned perfectly- I highly recommend this entree. The only thing I would add next time is an element of spice to take things up to another level. My wife ordered the BLTA sandwich , with sweet potato fries. I didn't try a bite because I had enough bacon on my burger , but I did sneak a sweet potato fry , and it was fantastic. My son order the chimichurri steak , he seemed to enjoy it although it may have had too much sauce on it for his liking. Perhaps it would been better if he ordered the sauce on the side. My picky daughter ordered the pesto chicken sandwich ,and she said it was pretty good. My family and I were full , but weren't going to let the dessert options pass us by. My family has a sweet tooth. We all shared the chocolate cake and bread pudding . Both are nice options if you need something sweet to top off your meal. The food and vibe of this place deserves 5 stars. I will deduct one star for the mediocre service and inconsistent food prep. Our meals were coming out one by one which made it awkward when trying to eat together. Our server didn't offer refills on our drinks , and didn't bring us utensils -until we asked for them. I will be back to try more menu items , and enjoy a cold beer while watching the game.

The Local gets the job done if you need a quick bite during the work day. I tried the BBQ Bleu Burger, which comes loaded with bleu cheese crumbles, BBQ sauce, bacon jam, fried onions, and the usual burger fixings. The burger itself was generously sized, but the patty was underseasoned, and the dominant flavors were mainly the bleu cheese and BBQ sauce. My wife ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and felt it lacked flavor. Our kids split the mac & cheese and a grilled cheese sandwich, but neither was a hit. Even the grilled cheese went mostly untouched, by my kids which was unexpected. On the plus side, the outdoor patio is cozy and looks like a great spot for fall dining with a drink in hand.
