Vivian has every little beautiful or welcoming detail covered, and the place is immaculately clean. There are intriguing antiques and pictures everywhere to add to the ambiance. The breakfast is sumptuous, but despite all that work, she was kind enough to make me something I preferred. I stayed two nights, at the start and end of my road trip, in two different parts of her lodgings. Both were lovely. It's quiet, for a light sleeper like me, and also important for a woman traveling alone, I felt safe. Vivian even has done the genealogy on the Inn from its early years, and discovered she's descended from the some of the original owners! She said how the community there has been so kind to her. Now that's real sense of place. I highly recommend Timber Post for a true New England Bed and Breakfast experience, in rural Hollis. A delight.

Entirely misadvertised and the woman who runs it is defensive of these small things, making it even…read moreworse. - advertised as having a private bathroom and it does not - breakfast listed as 7:30-9:30am in the booklet that is in the room but it is not, it is at exactly 8am only which we were never notified about - the noise is terrible - I was woken up to people talking downstairs that sounded like they were in our room, and that continued until we left - woman running it just got defensive when trying to address the bathroom and breakfast, just saying "but we've had a lot of people stay without any complaint" - for every person who says something, though, there are a hundred who don't say anything. - we had to "prove" to her that the listing was wrong bc she just tried to say that she didn't realize and blamed it on booking.com, though it is not the fault of booking.com, it is the fault of the business and it is illegal to do this kind of bait and switch - she offered a 10% refund while asking "are you going to write a bad review either way?" - well, I wasn't planning on it, but the fact that she tried to bribe us to not write a review means I sure as heck am now - on top of all of this, the bathroom was out of toilet paper with no more rolls available I suggest avoiding this place unless you want to have no idea what you show up to regardless of what you booked, then want to deal with a defensive woman who won't internalize or listen to the issues. Note: I deleted and reposted this, bc her response illegally posted some personally identifiable information. The response also showed the inability to internalize feedback, and misguided perspective on that feedback. Example: We SHOWED her the booking.com website where it clearly stated private bathroom in multiple places. If you don't like dogs or are allergic, this is not the place for you. But for me, it was great. I love dogs. There were well behaved and the whole property is invisible fenced, including the inside. I have a question though, is there such a thing as a million thread count sheet or pillow case? Because I think this place has them, I have bad shoulders and this was the best sleep I had in years!! The inn was cozy and charming, and Monty and Rebecca were gracious and attentive hosts. They take such pride in their inn, and it shows. The inn itself is well-maintained and beautiful, the rooms are charming and cozy (and some with spectacular views of the lake!), and the amenities throughout were ample. The sheets were divine and so soft; it felt like sleeping on a cloud. The large living room downstairs was the perfect spot to relax by the stunning fireplace and play board games from their many options of games, puzzles, and magazines. There is a selection of coffee and tea in the dining room available any time, and every afternoon fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies are put out. They were delicious and we enjoyed quite a few! In the warmer months, there is a beautiful front porch overlooking the gazebo and waterfront area. The breakfast was fantastic and lovingly made. We were treated to a three-course breakfast in the dining room served by Monty with fresh juices and coffee/tea. First fruit, followed by a delicious pumpkin bread, followed by the main dish. At check-in, they asked about our dietary needs and preferences based on the upcoming menu and catered to our needs. It was excellent and we left breakfast stuffed! Monty was a truly kind and hospitable host and we enjoyed talking with him during our stay. He was even so kind to leave out a few things to go since we departed early before breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend staying at The Lake House at Ferry Point while in town or making a trip for a weekend of beautiful views and relaxation. We sat outside in the afternoon to enjoy some mid September sun in the chairs that were available. This is a very old house with high ceilings and big spacious rooms, which makes up for the tiny bathroom. There is a very nice gift shop maybe 1/2 mile down the road (Vickie's) and we were able to do some shopping and have a great lunch in Cornish about 1/2 hour drive away. So I was pleasantly surprised by how awesome Around the Corner is. The proprietors, Rita and Peter, really make everyone feel at home. They introduce guests to each other and create an atmosphere where it's actually a pleasure to meet the other people staying there. I have dietary restrictions that Rita (the breakfast chef) was able to gracefully accommodate. The rooms are beautiful, with lots of detail, and plenty of books to borrow while you're there. Very peaceful and quiet at night. Each room has a window air conditioner/fan unit which helps keep the temp comfortable. I got to explore Exeter and the surrounding towns. Some highlights: the Fly By Cafe (downtown Exeter, has a UFO theme); Wallis Sands State Park, a peaceful beach; Folsom Tavern, where George Washington had a meal. I always felt comfortable asking for recommendations or sharing my thoughts on what I'd seen with the proprietors and other guests. Very un-snobby place. A couple quirks: The parking situation is pretty crowded and that can get stressful if the B&B is full. Also, be aware that some of the bathrooms are shared--be sure to check in advance if having your own bath is important to you. Overall, such a lovely and fun place to spend a few days!

**November 2025: Tuesday - Thursday Stays** I booked a two…read morenight stay here for my roadtrip and had a great experience! Parking: The lot is uncovered and does share the space with the restaurant next door. We were able to find a spot pretty easily on our visit, but it's I can imagine if we were to have come during peak season parking might have been problem Lobby: There are ample places to lounge or sit and enjoy the big screen tvs all around. There were also many areas to plug in your devices that have 3 prong plugs and there was a coffee/tea bar to warm yourself up. Breakfast: Complimentary hot food from 6am-10am for hotel guests. On my visit they had "made to order" pumpkin pancakes (you wave your hand on the machine and it'll make it right then and there), a yogurt machine, oatmeal, some egg dish (either omlette or scrambled, as well as hard boiled), some protein (sausage patty or links), bagels (with a toaster oven) and some accruements. Gym: Although I did not utilize the gym facilities my friend did and he said that they had one cycle, three treadmills, a set of weights (smallest at 5lbs) , kettle bells, and a wall mirror on one side of the room. Room: I loved the big screen tv. They had a smart tv subscription services available; however you'd need to put in your own account info to access the services. They had Disney+, Netflix, and Hulu at minimum. The bed was a little soft for my personal preference, but I did enjoy the soft pillows and the king bed. The shower had a nice hot water pressure and they supplied a large shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion that's attached to the wall. Wifi: It's good for the most part, but sometimes it would cut in and out on my cell phone. It was consistent on my laptop though. Summary: I paid around $125 a night (for a king bed) through booking.com and considering the amenities, parking, room it was definitely worth what I paid. I'd stay here again!

We had dinner at T-Bones and it was awesome to just relax in our room and then head downstairs and across the parking lot when we received a text that our table was ready. The soap/bathing products in the bathroom are this addictive lemon scent that I'm looking to purchase online through Amazon or Ebay. The complimentary breakfast the next morning was fantastic and that pancake maker machine whoozy-whats-it was so cool! Don't miss it.
