EDIT TO ORIGINAL REVIEW: Insurance coordinator did reach out and agreed to original pricing. Unfair billing on 2 patients! Both my daughter and I were given paperwork about what we would owe before we had the procedures done. They claim they got the estimates directly from our insurance. If so, how can they be wrong on what insurance will pay? I have paid my portion for what I was quoted and they now say I owe more. This is a scam. Insurance pays the negotiated fee, if this dentist wants more than the negotiated fee then don't take my insurance. My daughter was charged double what she was quoted! The office staff was rude and condescending when questioned about the additional billing. Their billing incompetence to get insurance estimates correct should not be the patients responsibility. This difference should be a write-off to the dentist and a wake up call to get staff that can get the insurance quotes correct the first time. read more

I have dental phobia. For years, I've cried during every teeth cleaning, couldn't sleep before an appointment, worried all week about my appointment, etc. Enter Meadows Dental. I have THE BEST hygienist I could possibly imagine now. Amy takes her time, connects with me emotionally, senses when I'm feeling anxious and stops. On my first appointment, I had the sedation options explained to me and I started with laughing gas, though if needed, I could take prescription meds or they will even put you out under anesthesia to do your dental work. For me, I use the gas, lay under a comfy blanket with headphones and DirecTV on. It's a great environment and so very loving. I've progressed to not obsessing about my appointments, I'm able to sleep the night before and I don't cry anymore. I love Meadows so much that I referred my husband, who doesn't have a problem getting his teeth cleaned here. He didn't like his former dentist and tried Meadows (again- LOVE Amy!) and saw what I meant. We do not live close to Meadows- I'm up by the airport and it's in HR, but I will drive wherever for this type of care. read more

Wait. Not every dentist has TVs on the ceiling to watch while you get your work done? Until I moved away, I never realized how much I valued my hometown dentist. Meadows Dental Group makes getting those teeth cleanings, fillings, X-rays and more a comfy, clean and breezy process. I've been seen by both Dr. O'Leary and Peppler and both are very pleasant. Melissa the hygienist is also very nice and professional. Even after moving away for college, I'll still use them as a second opinion when I need one for serious insight. But let me go back to my first point. There are TVs on the CEILING. What does that mean? Well, while they're busy poking around your mouth, you can focus on watching your favorite TV show instead and even listen along with the headphones they give you (yes, you get the remote control too). Seriously, you might not think this is necessary but trust me, going to the dentist is so much better when you know you're not going to miss the Today Show. read more

I am extremely phobic/fearful, I shake in the chair, cry when they start working, hyperventilate in the chair almost the entire time, and my teeth are hyper sensitive to every little thing - resulting in a mouthfull of shoddy dental work from previous offices who just wanted to get me out of their chair as quickly as possible. I'm quite possibly the world's worst dental patient. The staff at this office have never belittled me for being fearful, and go out of their way to ensure that I am as physically and emotionally comfortable as I can get while in their office. The conscious sedation experience has made getting my shoddy work fixed so much easier. The staff have always treated me with dignity, respected that my fear is real without being condescending, and gone out of their way to help me help them get things done that need to be done. You may find that they are on the spendy side of the spectrum when price shopping, but for me, the experience while I'm in their office is worth it. read more

Yesterday I started with a new dentist because my previous dentist had bagged his business because of covid-19. I went in for a cleaning and an exam which included x-rays as they hadn't been done in a year. From start to finish this appointment had no low points. All of the technicians and dental assistants were friendly, professional and helpful and could not have done a better job in my opinion.The Dentist a doctor Shayna Sengewalt was outstanding. She did a thorough cleaning and explained the results of my exam in detail. This was the most thorough dental exam and experience in total that I've ever had. The dentist was friendly personable and helpful in making sure I understood each aspect of what was doing in my mouth. Informative interesting. I can't say enough about this experience. Never in my life have I been able to say this.. but I actually had a very very pleasent visit at the dentist today!! It was my first time at meadows dental and I was scared out of my mind. Their website was reassuring but I was still terrified. "There's no way they can deal with me, I am the biggest baby at the dentist!" Or "this is just going to be like allll the other tereible visits I've had )" were just two of the many thoughts racing through my mind. Angel was the person I dealt with most and I've never met someone with a more suiting name. She kept me calm and spent a lot of time talking to me about my fears of the dentist office before she ever even looked in my mouth. AND she and the dentist (I think it was dr. Peppler,can't remember for sure) agreed this was a strict 'no poking allowed' visit. And they completely stuck by their words. It was incredible! I will absolutely stick with this place until the end. If you are terrified of the dentist I highly suggest this place. I even cried on the first visit and will be back. (I cried out of anxiety when i first got to the chair not pain). I can't believe I actually enjoyed a dentist visit! Thank you meadows dental for helping my teeth and my irrational fear! read more

My family and I have been going to MDG for 10+ years, I've recommended other existing patients and would have rated them 5+ stars all day long prior to my most recent experience. -February 2020, I went in with the intent to have my bridge repaired or replaced. Dr O'Leary did some patch work with the hopes it would work. Saved me time, anxiety and money. Patch work held up less than 30 days. No problem, I knew it wasn't a guarantee. -March 2020, returned again and Dr O'Leary repairs the patch work. However, this time I decided to have the entire bridge replaced since the original bridge(Dr. O'Leary completed) was roughly 8 years old. New X-rays and impressions were performed for new bridge. I was told it would take the lab 2 weeks to make the new bridge and they'd call to schedule my next appointment once it arrived. -April 2020, appointment was canceled due to closed office for COVID. -Beginning of May 2020, returned to have the old bridge removed and the new bridge set. Before removing my old bridge and setting the new bridge, it was discovered that the requested color shade was not correct. No problem, things happen- not the end of the world. At least I didn't have to go through having the old bridge removed for nothing. New impressions were made again and the bridge was going to be re-made. The DA re-validated the size, shape and color. Dr. O'Leary explained sometimes the color shade can be off a bit, but in this case it wasn't correct at all. I was told the same thing as in the prior appointment. It would take the lab 2 weeks to make the new bridge, etc... -June 2020, returned to have all work stated in prior appointment. New bridge was not correct again! However, the old bridge was already removed and the new bridge was temporarily set. The new bridge was whiter compared to my other teeth. At this time Dr. O'Leary recommended I consider re-doing the crown which connected to the bridge as it was originally placed at the same time the old bridge was set, claiming teeth whitening wouldn't work on the crown. I decided to go with his professional advice- let's get it over with at one time and be done. New impressions made to ensure the new crown be exact shape/color to match the new bridge. I was told the same thing as in the prior appointment. It would take the lab 2 weeks to make the crown. Etc... -July 2020, returned to have old crown removed, the new crown set and set the new bridge permanently. The new crown isn't the correct shade or shape! At this time nothing was set or completed. I was told two different labs made each piece and it was messed up. Now, it's getting frustrating after approximately 6 months into the process and each appointment being 90+ minutes. New impressions made again. I was told the same thing as in the prior appointment. It would take the lab 2 weeks to make the crown. Etc... -Mid August 2020, returned to have all of the work stated prior. The new crown and bridge was set temporarily to allow me to get a feel for it before permanently setting them. -End of August 2020, I canceled my appointment with advance notice due to having COVID symptoms and following State mandated guidelines. Called approximately three weeks later to schedule a new appointment. -September 2020, I canceled my appointment for 9/23 due to an unexpected loss of a immediate family. I fully expected to be charged- no problem as it was outside of the required notice timeframe. I didn't expect to be belittled when trying to reschedule. The TC states "Dr. O'Leary is concerned you won't come in if we reschedule and doesn't want to waste his time." I was shocked at the lack of empathy, compassion and concern for my well being. Fast forward- December 2020, I have to find another dentist to complete the work MDG started in February. I know this review is lengthy, but even these words can't describe how the situation has left me. BE WARNED- this could be YOU! read more

They offered a membership program that included 2 cleanings per year...when I went in for my scheduled cleaning they said they'd only do a "deep cleaning" that would cost $1700.00 and that I'd have to pay twice as much per month for my "membership" to maintain a deep cleaning protocol. I cannot say enough good things about this place! Growing up I absolutely dreaded going to the dentist. I haven't been to the dentist for about three years before today. From the moment I stepped in the door, I was greeted warmly and felt welcome! I saw Dr. O'Leary, who explained a lot of details about my X-rays that I never even knew about my teeth! I felt so much better after talking to him. I then had my teeth cleaned by Melissa- it was the least stressful cleaning I've ever had! She is an absolute gem. I have to say that I am no longer putting off dental work because of how a dentist does his or her job. Dr. O'Leary and his staff have done everything possible to help me with my dental work. They all have been patient, understanding and professional. I'm one of those people who's been terrified to go to the dentist since it has been so long for me. Their website caught my eye because they cater to people who have this type of anxiety. I can't praise this office enough! Everyone is so comforting, calming and friendly. I had my first cleaning in (I won't say how many years) and it was so easy! I was brought a blanket, offered headphones... if you suffer from anxiety you have a variety of sedation options. You can opt for mild conscious sedation to calm your nerves. They work on you GENTLY and never berate you for past dental mistakes - and don't make you feel like a baby for being nervous. You are asked by dental assistants in specific what you've disliked about other dentists, and they are cognizant of making sure you don't have that issue with them. This office is close to my work, not my home. But even if I change jobs, I will continue to go to Meadows Dental because I love them! Beware! Beware! Beware! Dr. Peppler has TWICE prescribed medication I am allergic to (says so in my chart). They are very expensive and they made me pay $960 in DECEMBER 2015 and I have yet to receive that mouthguard in FEBRUARY 2016. They put a crown in my tooth that immediately became infected. It was the worst pain I've experienced since my herniated discs. They don't pay attention to what they're doing here. If you're not careful, Dr. Peppler just may kill you with the wrong meds. read more

I trust Meadows Dental Group and have for several years. My 2 previous dentists ALWAYS tried selling products i.e. fluoride mouthwash, waterpick, electric toothbrush, xrays every visit: up selling that felt more like buying a car. Meadows provides expertise in dentistry in a nice clean office environment and friendly atmosphere. Dental-work estimates are provided in writing so there are no surprises. I have been a patient of Dr. O'Leary for over 10 years. I also love Melissa and Roni so much!!! They are the Best! Dr. O'Leary should be grateful for his wonderful staff. I am writing this review because I had to say goodbye to Melissa at my last appointment. About a year ago I had a crown put on. I went back to see Dr. O'Leary because my bite wasn't in alignment. Short version of a long story....Dr. O'Leary used the drill to "fix" the problem on the wrong side of my mouth. I am terrified of dentists. I was unable to say anything until he was done. I sat up and began to cry. I just wanted to get out of there. Not once did he apologize to me. I was even sent a bill. I called the office and ask that they check with the doctor to make sure he truly wanted to charge me. I continued to go back to get cleanings with Melissa. I also saw Roni and she was able to correct my bite. I would not get x-Rays so I did not see Dr. O'Leary. Unfortunately, I heard an advertisement for Meadows Dental on the radio and Dr. O'Leary was saying you won't have any "Horror Stories" going to see him. I feel like drilling on the wrong side of my mouth is certainly a horror story. The only reason I returned in the past year or so was because I adore Melissa. It was difficult to leave her because of my fear of dentists. I trust her, but I cannot go back after hearing him on the radio. I hope Dr. O'Leary realizes what a great staff he has. I would give this place zero stars if possible. I went in to get a minor chip repair, was never given an estimate for the work. I was just told my insurance would cover the cost. I have come to find out that the VERY minor repair was a $600 charge (of which I am now responsbile for half). What makes the situation worse is that the repair chipped the same day. So now I have the original problem and a $300 bill. Save time and frustrations and find another dentist. read more

I appreciate that I never have to wait to get in for my appointment; they run a tight ship. Laura, my hygienist is outstanding. I see Dr O'Leary for my dentist and the thing that I appreciate most about him is that he is conservative and collaborative in my care. He's never suggested extra work just to do the work and always explains things to me in a good level of detail for me to make a decision. And . . . and this is an important and . . . these guys are masters at administering anesthetic; I don't know what they do but it's never been a painful experience and considering how much I despise dental work that really makes me feel better! read more

I was told that they take my insurance and the front desk lady even called me a few days before my visit to tell me that we were all set. When I received a HUGE bill (for a cleaning I might add) they told me that they were out of network and the customer service I received should be worth the bill I received! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This is why I called to verify that they took my insurance in the first place! When I explained that they told me I was in network before my visit and I would have never gone out of network on purpose, their explanation was, "we don't really like to consider ourselves in or out of network, and you should be happy enough with the doctor to justify your bill". It was impossible to get my son to go to the dentist due to some terrible experiences he had as a young child. Finally, got him to go and just talk with Dr. Peppler. Im thrilled to say, the options Dr. Peppler has utilized has gotten my son back into the dentist's chair! He now goes regularly without having to be prodded. Our entire family sees Dr. Peppler and absolutely love him! Which is amazing coming from a family that put off and dreaded going to the dentist. The staff at Meadows is awesome. Dr. O'Leary is an outstanding dentist - as kind & caring as they come. He takes a lot of time with his patients and is so patient. His staff compliments his practice as well. Ridiculous. They charged over 5 times the written estimate. After giving them my insurance information, they gave me a written estimate of $119. After providing the service, they billed me $615 out of pocket. They're either incompetent or they scam customers. read more

This place was terrible! I went to this Dental Group and called before my appointment and asked if they took my insurance. The lady, who does billing, told me that they accepted my insurance. Furthermore, she called my insurance the day before my appointment and was notified by my insurance that I was not in network. When I arrived at my appointment, no one told me that my insurance did not cover the visit. This is terrible customer service because I got a bill several weeks later for $400. This is where it gets interesting. This dentist's office gives a $100 gift cards for new customers (as a promotion ). The lady who does the billing, told me that my insurance will not cover my visit and assured me that it was my fault for not knowing. Then I talked to the dentist, who told me that I was given a $100 visa card, and can use that money towards my bill. This company is cheap and does not want to work with insurance companies, so they give you a $100 promotion, to use towards your bill. The dentist did not care, and told me that I needed to pay the bill. I have had my insurance for over 9 years, and I get 2 free cleanings every year. This is the first time I had to pay for a cleaning, because they did not want to tell me that my insurance did not cover the visit. Furthermore, the dentist said, " we don't consider ourselves an in network or out of network company." Which means they don't want to work with insurance companies, because in the end they make all the money. Please do not go see these people they did not care or help me out for their mistake. This company does not advertise on their website that they do not take Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance, or that they do not consider themselves as a " in network or out of network company." This dentist should know, that customers ask the question, " are you in my inssurance's network?" For a company to not tell the customer whether they take insurance or not, is shady, and manipulative. The service here is terrible and I will never recommended this company to anyone. read more
