I walked in around 9pm while in town for a funeral, just wanting some comfort food & a beer. The very helpful bartender recommended me a nice Pilsner, suggested the Devil's Cut wings & fries, & that was enough to sell me on the place. The wings were excellent... I couldn't recommend them enough. The fries were good, it's hard to mess up fresh cut fries. The vibe is very cool, & the décor is exciting. They have a pretty fun selection of beers. It's not the most plentiful I've seen, but it was solid nonetheless. Moving forward, I'd like to see the bar expand a bit. A little on the pricey side, but most places like this are. read more

This was my wife and I first time here and it was an amazing experience! First of all the place is beautiful inside. It definitely put me in the mindset of an traditional Irish pub. The food was great we shared the appetizer sampler which came with BFG Wings, Garlic Knots, cornbeef/cabbage egg rolls, and fried pepperoni roll! Our entree I had the Irish ruben and it was delicious and my wife had the popper burger and it was cooked perfectly the only thing negative I'd say about it was on the rueban the slaw was really wet/runny that it overpowered the corn beef and I'd ask for extra popper filling on the burger cause it's that delicious! Last but not least the side meat platter was delicious and perfect if you want to try some traditional Irish meat this is for you it comes with bangers, rushers, and a set of white and black pudding! Have visited here twice in the past few weeks. Both times the food was delicious. The first visit the missus had a reuben and I had the sweet n spicy burger which for me was not spicy enough. The most recent visit We started with the Irish nachos which was good just wish there was more chips. I had the fish and chips and they were excellent. The missus had the pork BBQ burger. Also they had a party recently. "Half way to St Patrick s day" they were all dressed up in green and they had a man playing bagpipes outside. Half price drinks and appetizers were awesome. We live local to meaghers and in the past routinely visited weekly-biweekly. After opening their food was extremely good... last year we noticed it was very hit or miss. It's a 50/50 chance if your meal will be good or not. I've gotten ill twice after eating there and recently the food is 100% not worth the risk. I rarely leave bad reviews but you can't fix a problem if you don't know it's there. Hopefully a meaghers representative will come across this review and re-evaluate their kitchen staff. read more

Impromptu dinner for a few people turned into a retirement celebration with about 15 people. Josh, the manager, was able to get us the last two tables on the Pub side on a night where the restaurant was packed. Emily took charge of our group and got orders taken, drinks refilled, and food delivered without missing a step. Not easy for a large group! Food prepared perfectly & tasted great, drink selection extensive, music playing in the background low enough for conversations, staff knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly....such a terrific place for an impromptu celebration or just dinner and drinks. read more

Went there on a college football Saturday. The little manager would not allow anything other than the WVU football game to be on because we are in "mountaineer country", even though the game was a blow out and there were much better games on. There was more than one tv in my area. Bad customer service from the manager. To add onto that, the fish and chips were well over cooked. Good thing you can't screw up beer. read more

I wanted this place to be better. I really did. But the service was poor. The beer list was just ok but really nothing surprising or special on it. Irish pub that only has the most common and domestic ciders in bottle or on tap is also disappointing. Whiskey drinks were all made with Jamison and nothing special going on there either. The best dish we had was the deep fried donut stuffed with pepperoni which they are calling a "pepperoni roll". It is not a roll but is filled with pepperoni so on only the most barest premises it does it come close to the regional favorite. So if you are looking to experience some authentic regional cuisine this is not it by a mile. While it was tasty because it was seasoned mainly by all the pepperoni it was so greasy from being deep friend and just the juices from the pepperoni itself that it ruined any value it had. I could go on an on about why this thing was a monstrosity and how it differs from a true pepperoni roll (something I'm passionate about since this is my home area and I actively seek them out when I'm in town and really was the only reason we decided to give this place a try at all since they seemed to be doing something region specific so we had higher expectations of the rest of the menu) but I don't think it necessary here, All the other "Irish" dishes we ordered were sub-par. My Shepard's pie was bland, the "Irish" breakfast was more of and English one since it was just sausages and mash with nothing like blood pudding or sausages or anything close. For the price point they are charging the food should at least be seasoned with salt and pepper. What really kills all of this was the service. We came in the early evening around 6ish on a Friday night and it was dead. So we were seated right away. Our waitress started out alright taking our drink orders quickly but it went down hill from there. We ordered some appetizers and they were delivered by a food runner. We were never given the little plates to share with or put bones since we got wings. She came by after they were delivered and neglected to notice and give us plates, or extra napkins. We had to go get them from the bus station ourselves because after that she was MIA until the time for the check. There was only 2 other occupied tables in our section at any given time and the rest of the place was just as sparse. So I could see if she had a crap load of other tables but she didn't. There were more waitstaff on hand than patrons but yet we had terrible service. Most of them hanging around in small groups near the hostess stand chatting. I'm not expecting fine dining level service but we went to other chains while in the area and they are just not trying here. They are lucky that most people in the area probably still tip them out of a sense of obligation because I know that is the only reason we did. So congrats on doing just the bare minimum for your job and punching that clock. read more

One of my favorite places to eat and drink. This establishment is a really nice addition to the area and gives you the option for something a little different than we're used to. Equally great for family dining and getting a little tipsy with friends at trivia night. The bartenders are also pretty knowledgeable about the beer selection they have, and have never disappointed me when I ask them to surprise me with something new. read more

Traditional Irish fare with a few additions like wings and salmon. I have been several times recently and found anything fried were greasier than I'm used to eating. I finally settled on the Celtic fish and chips, which is salmon, zuchinni, Summer squash and, fried diced potatoes. It's really very good. The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. One of our favorite 'go to' places. Can be crowded and there may be a wait to get in, but afterwards service is good and so is the food. I'll just list some of my favorites- Boxty (a potato crepe filled with chicken, cabbage, and peppers topped with a Parmesan sauce), Cobb salad, buffalo chicken mac and cheese, Celtic knots (pretzels), and Irish car bomb cake. Other family members really love the fish and chips and spinach salad. Not really into beer, but they seem to have a large selection in their bar. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Of all the restaurants/bars in the immediate area, this is by far my favorite. The wait staff is friendly, and the food is awesome! Beyond the usual pub fare, there is some traditional and authentic Irish food. There are also some creative chef specialties that do not dissapoint. Everything I've had there has tasted fresh and well made. The tap has a good selection of beers, with a few local brews to choose from as well. We went on a busy Friday night and knew we would be in a for a bit of a wait. We we seated in one of the back tables and could see the view of Buffalo Wild Wings. We waited a little bit before someone came by. My wife I were just having dinner and looked at there soft drinks My wife wanted Root Beer and ask which brand it was the waitress had no idea. I ask if it was Mug because they sold pepsi and and She was like "OH YEAH thats what it's called." We waited about 15 minutes before our drinks came out. We were really hungry and said we wanted a appitizer of chips. We also ordered I got a Boxty and she got Bangers and mash. Our Chips took over 20 minutes and they walked toward our table I was a bit over whelmed then I saw them. The kitchen staff walked them to another table and I thought oh maybe that's a side order NOPE they gave the chips to the people who had only been there for 10 minutes. I looked longly a them. The kitchen staff who brought them out said they were for that table the couple over there said that they had only been there 10 minutes there was no way it was theirs the waitress just took their oder then a another waitress ask if we ordered them and we said yes. The kitchen staff just shrugged her shoulder said oh well and left them at that couples table. The couple was very nice and told their waitress to bring them to us because they knew we had been waiting a long time. Theres came out abotu 5 minutes later. I was dispointed by them it was a small serving and I don't know what seasoning they were talking about on the menu. Our food came out pretty quickly and smelled pretty good. The portions were good but my Boxty only had 4 little peices of beef in it. My wifes Bangers and Mash weren't bad but she was a bit turned off by the ammount of cabbage put in the potatoes. Waitress could not answer any questions anyone around us ask and seemed very confused most of the time. the deocor was nice but left a lot of sapce where more seating could have been. Over all we would try again to see if we have better results but this isn't a place I will want to go to all the time. read more
