Conveniently Located…read more I stopped into this Irish Pub on a day when it was just pouring rain. It was right across the parking lot from my hotel. I was seated right away and ordered a happy hour glass of red wine. Since it was an Irish Pub, I had to try their Irish Potato Soup. The soup came out just hot enough and was topped with chives, bacon and cheese. It was a very good soup and packed with potato chunks. I ordered the McCarthy's Pub Steak, a 10 oz. strip loin, which was topped with rosemary compound butter, served with a side of heavenly mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was delightful, and although slightly overcooked, it was still a very good steak. The Green beans were fresh and firm and cooked perfectly, and were a great accompaniment to the steak. On their beer menu, I noticed they carried a Canadian beer from Unibroue Brassery in Quebec, which I thought was really cool. Overall, great food, service and happy hour specials and of course Canadian Craft Beer too !

All were decent, but this is pub food, not fine dining. The fries were shaped like funky spirals like I've never seen before. That was unique. In terms of taste, I think they were under-seasoned. The cole slaw was dry and bland. The fish was pretty good; they came in nugget form rather than a filet. I was happy they served it with a giant lemon and lots of tartar sauce. The chocolate lave cake was also fine ... certainly not the best I've had, but it got the job done. I appreciated that they have easily accessible power outlets and USB ports right at the bar, so I could work and charge my devices.

I checked out the reviews in advance. Fish and Chips and Shepard's Pie for us. I was expecting good, I was not expecting GREAT. There was a sizable serving of fish, perfectly done. Am I in Ireland? Spiraled fries, pickles and coleslaw. Coleslaw was good but needed my dad's touch. The Shepard's Pie was something else. Now I don't like beer as a drink but the plentiful strings of beef were soaked in Guiness. Yum. But you have to dig under the cheese coated mashed potatoes to find it and the peas and corn. This is a winner. Previously the only Shepard's Pie I had used ground beef. Love those strings of Guinness soaked beef. As is typical, when we LOVE a meal, we surprisingly eat less of it so we can bring it home and extend the experience. I do not like their cardboard container for leftovers. You pack it yourself and it is hard to close. I do wish their drink menu was more clear with mixed drinks. No prices and I didnt know if each group was ALL the ingredients or if you chose one. So I ended up not ordering a drink which meant that I couldnt talk hubby into a Guinness. I have been coming to the North Side for years and always wanted to come here but got sidelined by buying too many pepperoni rolls in the Strip. But no more. I will be back, maybe again this week. It was FABULOUS.

The Sunday morning crowd was chill and primarily there to take in a soccer match. The staff were all friendly laid back, leaving us to hang out in a little booth with only necessary interruptions. In terms of food, it was well done pub food. Not fancy, but well executed. We ordered the breakfast sandwich without meat (no sausage or bacon), and it was nicely done. Not over the top, but nicely prepared. The overall flavor profile was designed the the expectation of breakfast sausage or bacon, so the non-meat version of the sandwich could have used a bit of extra flavor. That's on us. The fish and chips were well executed with crisp breading, tender fish, and flavorful condiments. It really felt like a solid pub experience. They even offered us some malt vinegar to go with the meal. In terms of beer, everything was well done. The beer was served in appropriate glassware at an appropriate temperature, and everything was flavorful and in good condition. A nice low key pint of Guinness was exactly the right accent to the overall vibe. Overall, this was a lovely little pub in a nice little part of town. It wasn't a huge space, but there was plenty of room to show up for a fun Sunday brunch without facing an enormous crowd.

If you order wings always ask for extra sauce, the wet flavor wings come out too dry. They're too skimpy on the sauce for some reason ? Also, not sure why...but the wing basket of celery and carrots comes out like 10min before the wings. Pictured: Patrick's hot - It's got some heat... but very edible. Catches up after a few. Blu cheese is ok. It's got nice chunks but the dressing side is very lite Cheers!

Not sure why I expected anything different when we went there today. Today's experience: Our server took our order in a very reasonable timeframe, but we waited close to 50 minutes for our food to arrive. And this was on a weekday; they were busy but not packed. No one came by to provide any kind of explanation. When the food finally arrived, my fries were cold and we had to ask twice for refills on our beverages. We had to go to the bar to get utensils and napkins because the server never brought them. As we were leaving, a couple at another table had just gotten their food and had the same problem-- they needed utensils and napkins. This isn't the first time we've experienced very slow service at Patrick's Pub. I don't know what the issue is, but I'm sorry to say I probably won't ever go back to Patrick's for a meal.

Beyond that it was a nightmare. The service was sooooo sloooooow. It took too long for the waitress to come take our food orders after we placed a drink order. People in service should know to pick up the pace when they see small children in a party. However, even if it had been just adults, there is no excuse to keep us waiting for ten minutes. And then the food took absolutely forever, at least half an hour. During the wait, I counted only four parties totaling 14 people in the entire place. It was so frustrating. When the food arrived, half of it was wrong. My daughter ordered a kid's cheeseburger; she received a burger with no cheese. I ordered a grilled chicken salad with caesar dressing on the side; I received a caesar salad with the dressing mixed in. I didn't send it back--no time to wait! The salad was merely lettuce, dressing, and "chicken." The meat was rubbery and stale-tasting. The pretzel bites were horrid; sort of ligh-textured and vaguely sweet, but saturated with oil, they tasted more like toasted chunks of brioche bread than real soft pretzels. The "beer cheese" was mercifully flavorless. My wife's fish sandwich was bland but okay. The french fries were delicious. See, I closed on a positive note.
