The fried pickles are really good with them! I've never had fried pickles before, but these are really good! I had their tender with honey and that is really game changing. Plaza Mexico has definitely come up in recent years when it comes to the food game. Their latest and greatest is Mean Chix bringing the fire to the plaza. If you're from the Los Angeles area then you already know there is an Armada of hot chicken restaurants throughout the city to choose from. Not all however stick the landing which is why I'm happy to say that isn't the case with Mean Chix. Not only does Mean Chix stick the landing in terms of flavor, portion and customer service...the food is also Halal. Those who stand by the cultural law can also enjoy the deliciousness Mean Chix has to offer. Now to the good stuff. The menu itself is pretty straight forward like most hot chicken restaurants consisting of chicken strips, sliders, fries, slaw, and mac. Need I say a friend and I indulged in them all? Anyone who truly know me knows that answer already. The chicken was crispy, juicy and its seasonings can be tasted throughout regardless of which form it came in. This to me is important especially when it comes to the sliders. I've been to way to many hot chicken restaurants where the slaw on the sliders rules all, taking away from the flavor of the chicken. The kale slaw they make is obviously the key...not overpowering allowing the chicken to take center stage. In addition to great flavor, I never would have thought the inclusion of honey drizzled on top of hot chicken would amp things up. Perfect balance of sweet and savory. Kudos to the staff for suggesting it. Did I forget to mention our heat levels? We decided to go with "OMG!", Not the "Oh My God!" which is the hottest level. Call me a wimp but I still want to enjoy my food, not die lol. Also my highlight of this meal was not the stand alone tenders nor sliders, it was the Mean Tacos. Maybe it was the tortilla & cheese or just my taco addiction as a whole, but I loved these tacos!
