I'll be honest -- the first time I saw La Pasta in Lynwood, I wasn't super intrigued. But then I kept noticing police cars and fire trucks parked there during lunch. And if there's one thing I know, first responders always know where the good food is. That was enough for me to give it a shot. We decided to grab takeout, and wow... this place is legit. The lasagna was amazing. Not one of those basic ricotta-only lasagnas either -- this had a great cheese blend and an incredible sauce that really brought everything together. You can tell care goes into the food. The bread they serve tastes fresh like it's baked there, which makes a big difference. We also had the chicken fettuccine, and my daughter absolutely loved it, which is always a win as a parent. We've only done takeout so far, but this spot has officially upgraded our movie nights at home. One of these days we'll probably dine in, but even to-go, the quality holds up -- and that says a lot. I really love this place. Compared to the pasta places in DTLA it's one of my favorites for a quick bite during lunch. Every time I've been their service has been quick and friendly. It's clean in the inside and also has a nice cocktail selection to choose from. I haven't been here for dinner but definitely love coming here for lunch during work. Traditional oil/vinegar for the delicious pita cake looking bread. it looked overbaked, some pieces slightly too crispy for my taste but the taste was wtf amazing. unfortunately Im a butter dude, i dont like how oil feels on my lips and black vinegar is ick to me Chicken Cognac $27 - Flattened chicken cuts kinda meh but the mushroom sauce was sublime. LOVED THIS PLACE! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. They had a bunch of roses and heart decorations for Valentine's Day and there was plenty of available seating inside. Elgar greeted me warmly and was incredibly helpful and kind throughout my entire time dining in. I asked whether I should get the Chicken Cognac or the Chicken Parm and he suggested the Cognac, which was BOMB! One of the best chicken dishes I've had in quite some time. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the sauce was just the right consistency, and both the potatoes and veggies were well seasoned. Lots of food and great quality so you feel as though you get your money's worth. They also bring out complimentary bread with oil & vinegar which hit the spot, kudos to them for making sure the bread was fresh, warm, and soft with a nice crunchy exterior. You wouldn't think from the location, but the food here is delicious. We got to try a lot and everything was great. My favorites were the lasagna (which had a hint of something sweet, perhaps nutmeg?), and the lemon caper chicken. Great flavor! The rigatoni was great, as was the alfredo, garlic bread, and seafood pasta. We had the desserts which were unique: the bomba which was a chocolate and vanilla ice cream coated in a hard chocolate shell, a pistachio gelato dessert which was delicious, and the cheesecake which was also so good. I usually avoid cheesecake at restaurants cause they're all the same, but this one had a creme brûlée mascarpone crust and was really really good. Great service as well! read more

This place a frozen "Italian food" I was so disappointed with the "food" the cheese sticks looked and tasted worse than the carls jr next door. Look at this lasagna? There's not layers of meat, cheese nor sauce. It was just as you can see layered pasta with no flavor. Can Italian food is better than this. The service was good, the lady at the register was nice. First and foremost, La Pasta has a very cute and warm environment. The decor is subtle, clean, and welcoming it's the kind of place you want to sit down and enjoy a meal in. Now, the food. I started with the garlic rolls. The flavor and seasoning were actually really good, but they were a bit overcooked. The bread was pretty hard almost hurts the roof of your mouth when you bite into it and a little dry. The flavor is definitely there, though. I'd recommend maybe using a different bread or leaving them in the oven for a bit less time. The chicken Alfredo had decent flavor, but there really wasn't anything special about it. It was pretty boring and kind of bland overall, and definitely under-seasoned. The chicken was cut into very small pieces, which felt unnecessary and made the dish less satisfying. On top of that, the portion size was small for the price, which made it feel overpriced. That said, I've had other pasta dishes here in the past and overall they are flavorful and good they just seem to consistently need a bit more seasoning, and the portion sizes still don't quite match the prices. The Caesar salad honestly felt like very little effort was put into it. It looked like a packaged supermarket salad, and parts of the lettuce seemed like they may have been a day old. A classic Caesar should feel fresh and intentional, and this one just came across as cheap and store-bought. The pizza, on the other hand, was good. The crust was really well done great cook and texture, and overall enjoyable. I've been here a few times, and each time the restaurant has been mostly empty, maybe one or two other tables. I truly think this place has a lot of potential. The food doesn't need a full overhaul just a few small adjustments, which honestly feel like easy fixes. Honestly everything we've tried here is so good. The service is sweet. One gentleman in particular is top tier, he's also the bartender sometimes. The cocktails were good but my nonalcoholic drink (passionfruit lemonade) was way better. We've had the the calamari, Salmon which has a creamy lemon flavor sauce with veggies, the penne pink pasta with shrimp, the Boscaiola pasta with sausage, and the Margarita pizza. All delicious. They also gave bread to dip with olive oil and I believe balsamic vinegar. We shared two desserts the tiramisu and bomba (ice cream dipped in chocolate) both were amazing! A little skeptical before arriving to la pasta was really excited to try there pasta before arriving the ambiance when you're inside is nice very calm chill vibes beautiful decor aesthetically pleasing 10/10 as far as my order was mozzarella sticks for the appetizer and I'd rate those 6.5/10 looked as if they came out frozen box but never the less wasn't terrible decent I'd say. For my drink I ordered an orange sunset and OMG PHENOMENAL JOB ! the drink felt so balanced and refreshing and really exceeded expectations as far as the drinks side of things .for pasta I had got Rigatoni bolognese and this other pasta that was creamy with broccoli the Rigatoni bolognese I'd say was a 7/10 felt as if the dish could be missing something I know with minor tweaks they can really elevate that pasta for sure ! and same thing for the other pasta as well would I come again for the pasta ? Probably not it didn't have that impact on me where I'd come again for only and specifically this pasta. But definitely would go again for that orange sunset ! La Pasta a family owned italian restaurant with all the classics - ranging from traditional pastas to pizzas to sandwiches as well as protein entrees. i looove a good cheesy mozzarella stick and my motto is: if it doesn't pull, i don't want it and thankfully, la pasta's did !! their calamari is packed with flavorful seasoning and i loved that they added fried carrot and zucchini strips too. I got both their fettuccine alfredo pasta and boscaiola. Afredo is super creamy and thiccc and while it was good, my fav was their boscaiola! BBQ chicken pizza is also great - pretty big slices. Their tiramisu is SOLID and my only complaint is that i wish i had more (btw portion size is pretty big to begin with) overall, if there's one thing they're doing right - it's flavor. Service- the food is amazing! But my experience with catering felt like I was rip ripped off. I placed my order describing the special feeding 10 for $100, I asked if I could do half-and-half of the pasta dishes and was told yes.. the morning of my event I had someone pick up the food and they charged me $200. There was nothing I could do because my event needed food. Very, very disappointed in this restaurant and likely will not go back even though the food was good. Food is great here! I don't think it's really authentic because the taste is pretty intense and feels Americanized. Not that it's not delicious, every dish was definitely delicious and I liked every part of every dish. The new york cheesecake is especially good. Calamari was very unique too. read more
