Took a bite and first impression was that the sauce was delicious. Then I noticed that there was not much meat on the bone. Ok, on to the fries. Loaded fries were ordered and they were decent. Portion was huge! The coleslaw sorry to say for me was gross, and I love coleslaw! Great place to eat! We stopped by for lunch on our way to Fairport Harbor. The Portion sizes were large and prices are very reasonable. Our family of 4 had drinks, apps and food for just over $60 not including tip. Their pizza, wings and burgers are good. Salads are huge! Sometimes I think the high steaks sandwich is a little light on the steak and heavy on the mushrooms. Not a fan of their fries at all so I usually get either the tots (which aren't anything special but a safe option) or their onion rings. So a very nice guy whose name I can't remember, he came around introducing himself at the bar, bought the Pacer's place and made some much liked upgrades and kept the favorites. The inside looks almost the same. I love the bar here and the TVs. It's a great place to catch a game. The outdoor patio is nice as well. The appreciated upgrades are the fries are now fresh cuts again and larger portions. They're now served with cheese sauce and what tastes like a homemade ranch. They were delicious for $5 and went well with a whiskey on the rocks for $6. They also now make all their burgers 1/2lb handmade patties fresh daily. Can't wait to try one. They kept the same delicious pizza crust. It's always a favorite of mine here. The same friendly familiar faces were behind the bar. I visited Mean Mugs with a group of 10 for trivia night. The server handled the large table well. The food here is traditional American bar food - burgers, wings, sanwiches and the like. The portions are big, the prices are reasonable, and I was overall very happy with the experience. I ordered the basket of onion rings appetizer, which was a true basket - probably in the 18-20 ring range, with a nice "blooming onion" dipping sauce. They were hot and crunchy, with a mildly beer flavored coating. For my meal I ordered the cod sandwich, which was served on a garlic bread baguette with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce (which I had them remove as I'm not a fan). It was served with a pile of tasty fresh-cut fries. The sandwich was huge - nearly a full sub size. The fish was a bit heavy on the beer batter, but tasty and hot. I would order it again. They got "hit with a party of 50" tonight and that's completely on the management. They didn't allow any other orders or tables at that time. You don't have to accept a table of 50 out of the blue. This neighborhood pub is everything. The outdoor seating is comfortable and spacious. The indoor seating is great. Walking in it looks small but the place is huge. I have been there a few times and ordered late night takeout and they did not disappoint. Food comes out fresh and hot. The butterfly shrimp dinner and the burger is amazing. Since the new opening my husband has gotten sick twice from the three times we've been there. The first time I thought maybe we went kinda late and being towards the end of the night something went wrong. The second time our food was excellent and found out the owner cooked that night. The third time we went right after a dinner rush and my husband got sick AGAIN! Unfortunately, until they can get a better Chef not going back!!!!! Thoroughly enjoyed having lunch here. We had french fries as an appetizer, fresh cut cooked perfectly. We ordered two small pizza's and they were both delish. I had cheese which in my opinion is always a test for any restaurant and it was great. The cheese blend delicious and sauce tasty. Crust well cooked. My companion had the herbivore (swapping out the tomatoes for pineapple) and said the garlic sauce was really good. We missed seeing the games as we came in; had we seen those we would have played. The food was good, we had the cheese and bacon fries, fish sandwich, Cobb salad, pizza, and the wings with BBQ sauce and the sweet chili sauce. Wings were great... The blue cheese was watery which when asked, people in Ohio are not used to real blue cheese so they had to thin it out. Our waitress was amazing. We went to MMP in Mentor for the first time last night. They were very busy, but we were seated right away. Soon our server came to take drink orders and answer menu questions. She was cheerful, friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks came quickly and we placed our food orders. There 4 of us and our orders were diverse. Our food was served within a reasonable period of time and were correct, hot and delicious! This is a new location for MMP and opened a few weeks ago. They are a well oiled machine, with a great staff and system to provide guests with a wonderful experience. Although this is a large location, they do have good sound control and we were able to talk at normally, without having to compete with tables conversations. The tables are well paced and are not on top one another. Of course, their most important feature for us was their food and we are already planning to return for another great experience in the very near future. Price increase due to inflation which is understandable, however the quality of the food seems to have diminished greatly from when I tried it before they moved locations. Both my wife and I got sandwiches that were so soaked in grease and oil that it was a heart attack on a bun.. and not in the good way. The fries were fun and were good at first but, once again after a few fries the amount of oil in them was a turn off. Not alot of flavor in the food in general. Met friends at the pub 2/24/23 for birthday drinks and dinner. I had never been there before and honestly not much for bar food so I was skeptical about the experience that was about to unfold. Arrived on a Friday at 6:00 PM and the place was packed. Had to circle the lot a couple times to park. I was the first of my party to arrive. There was a wait. We requested a 4 table top in the bar. I thought for sure we would be waiting for a very long time. Much to my surprise only about 15 minutes. I was not even settled in my seat when a very friendly young woman took my drink order. No sooner did she leave me when a second very friendly young lady came to take my drink order! The place was packed. My drink came quickly and the rest of my party arrived shortly after that. Again, once they were seated the waitress was very quick to head over for drink orders. We started with appetizers. $4 shrimp cocktail. We ordered two of those along with some mozzarella sticks. It all came very quickly along with our second drink order. Again these two ladies were tag teaming our table. THE SERVICE WAS GREAT. There was classic rock playing in the background and not so loud that you had to have a conversation by yelling. MUCH APPRECIATED. Made the experience thus far so much more enjoyable for a packed Friday night. For main dishes we had Salmon Dinner. Wings - Stingin' Honey Garlic and Sweet n' Chili. An order of Onion Rings, Pub Chips. Coleslaw. The wings were crispy, juicy and very tasty. The chips were thin and not over done. Onion rings perfect. The salmon dinner was delicious. Everything was so good. Only thing I would add is...the coleslaw barely had any flavor to it as it barely had any dressing on it. The food was fresh. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. Our first visit to Mean Mugs Pub! We tried a variety of entrees - burger, pizza and boneless wings. ALL of them were great! Started with some of the best onion rings I've ever had - batter was flavorful and there was an ample amount in our appetizer serving! Pizza was fabulous - dough had a tasty flavor, you could tell it was fresh made. There are a ton of sauces available for the wings - our server was kind enough to bring over a couple for us to sample before making up our mind. Burger was good - next time I will try one of the more "name" burgers from the menu. Oh, and the fries were good - I mean REALLY good! We gave the experience an A+! So... We went here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. It was slow when we were there. We had adequate service. This restaurant is neat as it has an outside patio as well as inside bar. They have some games like basketball. The portions of food were big with reasonable prices. We both got burgers. They were well seasoned and had interesting toppings. I got the mean mug burger. We also got an app. Their fries I believe are made there, which is always a good way to start. They were also salted because I firmly believe that if you don't salt fries immediately, there is no hope to get salt on them later. There seems to be some cool events. My husband and I came here for dinner and we really enjoyed the food, service and drinks. I'm a vegetarian and had a question about their veggie patty. The owner came out and talked to us. He was really nice and really wanted to make sure we had our questions answered. I was impressed on how accommodating he was to us. I ordered the veggie pattern and got the 'Big Boy' version. It was REALLY good. I liked it. There was also a veggie wrap that looked good that I may try next time. My hubby got a chicken quesadilla that he thought was good. The drink and food specials were good. They had $2 drafts so I got a Blue Moon. It hit the spot while we sat on the patio. Overall, this spot is great.
