I was surprised when I walked in to see a meat stand because I looked up "lunch". Main: We ordered the sampler jr,. I don't even know where to start because everything was phenomenal. Hands down juiciest most flavorful chicken I have ever had. I don't even order chicken at BBQ places but I would 100% order this EVERY TIME. Brisket tender fell apart melted in the mouth the charred ends of the fat were perfect. Sausage had so many dimensions. Ribs came off the bone nicely nice smoker flavor perfect smoke ring. Sides: I'm a potato salad snob and the redskin potato salad was a top 3 ever. Baked beans - thick and rich with flavor would order again Coleslaw- this was probably the only thing I thought was just good. Didn't stand out, would do trading to get some on my plate with whoever I'm eating with but wouldn't pick it for my side. Chicken Gumbo was great, haven't had any good gumbo in Michigan in years, this was a pleasant surprise and ordered a large pint to take home. Now move over to the retail market. Great selection. They let us sample their meatballs and if I didn't take 4 steaks and fully loaded jalapeño poppers home I would have grabbed a family size meatball. I will be back for sure for some of the flavored brats and polish meatballs, and a hot sandwich! What was even more amazing than the food, was the prices. We got a bang for our buck! If I could give 6 stars, I would. I visited from out of town, and would make the trip just to come back here to stock up. Every single staff member was kind, welcoming and helpful. Their prices seemed reasonable, especially for getting all meats vacuum sealed. I'm excited to try all that we bought. The salad half of the meal came from Meats and Moore. We ordered the Hen House Salad based on Yelp reviews and were very satisfied. The ranch dressing was tasty and homemade, a wonderful touch. Every single ingredient in the salad was perfectly fresh and paired well together. The nicest aspect was that were were able to order the salad while ordering the rest of our meal at the BBQ place, and they called it over, saving us a trip. Great staff and wonderful customer service. Can't wait to return to try some of their soup and sandwich selections. read more

"Best" Deli Sandwiches i have found in area. Rooster Deli is in back of store, first day I had the Reuben special and it was great! Big thick sandwich with lean corned beef, cooked just right. I left with a big smile from the lunch experience. Two days later, still in town and time for lunch -- this time I had the Pull BBQ Pork sandwich and chicken soup. The pork was tender and good flavor and for $5 it was a real good deal! I have two more days in town, I am guessing I will be back. Easy 5 Star for food taste, quantity, price and atmosphere! Inside Meats and Moore there is a deli in the corner that is an absolutely awesome sandwich shop. The sandwiches are huge and better than anywhere in town (yes even better than Wanigans.) My husband and I have been there many times. The sandwich shop is called "Roosters" and outside Meats and Moore there is a little outside building in the parking lot that has great barbecue. Both the sandwich shop, meat store and the barbecue building have the same owners. At the sandwich shop inside we have had the pastrami, roast beef, turkey and Reuben which came with chips and cole-slaw. We could not decide which sandwich was better as they were all great. We have good appetites and neither me or my husband could finish our sandwiches. The main attraction is a great quality meat market, with a great selection of meats. We have bought meat here and never have been disappointed. As for the barbecue in the outside little shack, they have won many awards through the years that line the walls. The pork ribs and chicken and beef brisket barbecue are great. Even their hamburgers are better than good. They have many different sides from potato salad, broccoli to beans. You can purchase ala carte or a meal. This was a great find as we have passed this place many times and the aroma from the hickory smoke permeates through your nose that finally enticed and allured us to see what smelled so good. You can eat in the little shack metal building or there are picnic tables outside. Don't pass this place by. You won't be disappointed as there is something here for even the pickiest eater. And well worth the five stars. If there was a six star option, this would be the superior place for six stars. read more

I was craving chicken tonight so George and Tic fixed me up. I had the half chicken with potato salad, baked beans and waffle fries! The chicken was smoked perfectly, so juicy, tender and tasty. The sides I chose were fabulous! On the other side of the parking lot is their deli and meat market. My Husband went in there and brought out the "Hen House" salad. This salad was made right in front of him. Fresh Spinach, strawberries, thinly sliced grilled chicken, a sliced hard boiled egg, nuts and dried cherries! Salad dressing was a raspberry vinaigrette. I was really surprised I had never heard about this place. Guy that cooks on the fire is not real friendly, but I guess it doesnt matter once you take the first bite. They have been having live music on Friday's which is great. A real diamond in the rough that I highly recommend. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. It has been awhile since I've been here, it was a nice day yesterday so my bf and I decided to grill out. We stopped at Meats right before they closed and got NY Strip steaks. Awesome cuts of meat. They have stuffed brats too. The steaks were delicious. I apologized to the guy for stopping in right before they closed and he was nothing but nice. I've never had bad meat here. They even give you an option to vacuum seal the meat too. It cost us $17 for our beautiful cuts of meat, a lot cheaper than eating out, that's for sure. read more
