Al Pastor Street Tacos with side of rice & beans (for take out)
    Laura R.

My hubby has had a couple of business lunches at the restaurant and really liked it. We decided to do takeout tonight (stayed home to watch the football game) and I loved the food! It was easy to order and pay on the website. I did not see a place to comment on the order (e.g., if we did not want cilantro) so you may need to call in for those particulars. We were given a 20 minute window for the order to be ready and it was ready when hubby arrived! Hubby ordered the enchiladas supremas and he enjoyed them. I had the al pastor street tacos and they were fantastic! There were four tacos in one tin and the rice & beans were in a separate tin. There was a lot of cilantro as garnish on the tacos, so beware if you don't like it (I love it). The tacos were delicious and just the right size - I would definitely get them again. We also ordered a quesadilla as an appetizer and it was okay. I'm not sure what kind of cheese they use but it was very creamy. And the sour cream was a sauce, thinner than sour cream you buy at the store. Because of the steam trapped in the to-go container, the quesadilla was hard to pick up and eat. The tortilla was not crisp and the creamy cheese was heavy. Not a deal breaker but I'd only order it again in the restaurant. We enjoyed our meal and would eat here again either in person or as take out!

Not bad service and the food was good. We liked the meal. It seems like a chain, but not, a bit off. But ok.

the drive there was horrible should've took it as a sign and stay home

First time here. Got the ground beef enchiladas with extra sour cream. It is clear in the picture that this isn't considered extra, considering there is an upcharge for it. The ground beef wasn't very good aswell as the outside of the enchilada. Tasted plasticy and microwaved. Chips and salsa weren't great and the chip bowl for the beans seemed stale. My friend asked for double rice and got the same portion as I did. Waitstaff and servers were kind and the setting is comfortable. Our server asked us if the food was good but we lied because we know how stressful the food industry is

A really nice addition to this area of food. The burritos and nachos I have got the few times I've been have been very good.

It's almost like a speakeasy, where the front is set up like a travel agency and once you're checked in you get transported into this hidden gem tiki bar!! The food was delicious! I came here with my bf and friends. They were able to accommodate our allergies as well (I'm gluten free and my bf can't have dairy, eggs, nuts, fish, and they were still able to give him lots of food!). They had lots of fun drinks on the menu too. Definitely coming back here!

The outside is decorated as a travel agency and the host walks you in. Our server was friendly and answered our questions about the drinks and food. Their menu is a "sharing menu". I will say that I think the best value are their family style platters. We tried the Mahalo pork which was good. Likely enough for 2-3 people. The Duck Spring Rolls were good but I didn't ask how many came in an order. It's 2 rolls for $18, which is not a great value. The Yaki Skewers were good. We got the shoyu chicken but again it's $15 for 3 skewers so not a great value. Drinks average $18 but they were good and came with fun umbrellas etc. Overall we'd return for drinks and maybe the pork platter. 4 stars for service and theme but 3 stars for overall value. They are right next to the paid lot and do validate but be aware you can get towed if the validation doesn't process for some reason. Yes, we've seen it happen

While planning our dinner party months in advance, the communication from Janine was excellent. She helped us develop a 4-course menu that was sure to have something for everyone, including vegan and allergy friendly options. Amy was our server for the evening, and she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The salmon was a generous portion of medium rare fish, and there was lot going on with that dish - spicy cauliflower and za'atar potatoes that had some mixed reviews. Folks who ordered the duck breast seemed to enjoy the complex preparation, which had asparagus, green beans, and two pureed sauces - cauliflower ginger and cherry-rhubarb. The doughnut bread pudding with apple pieces and vanilla ice cream was a delicious, decadent way to end the meal. We left rather stuffed, and delighted with the overall experience that allowed our family to celebrate together.

There are a ton of amazing vegetarian options on the menu and, since I was from out of town, I was the obnoxious person and proceeded to bug my amazing bartender, Nikki, for her recommendations. I ordered the carrots and parsnips and then also the roasted zucchini from the light fare section of the menu. They were both incredible and wildly different, which you don't often find in vegetarian selections. I wish I would have taken the time to take photos to post, but I gobbled everything up way too quickly before I could even think of taking out my phone. All this being said, this is not a vegetarian restaurant. Back in the days when I ate meat, I would have made different choices and I am 100% sure that I would be equally impressed.. Back to Nikki: my service was incredible. Really knowledgeable and so personable and friendly. I didn't actually want to leave. I was having such a low-key nice time away from my hotel. Ambiance (because one has to check off all the keywords) is great. La Bola takes up the first half of a really cool food hall in Rochester. It's modern and chic with great lighting and a windowed front. But, to wrap it up, as someone who travels way too much, I couldn't recommend this place anymore. Everything about my experience here was just wonderful.

The ambience was more like an open food hall meets bar venue but somehow it didn't click with me. We were the only other occupied table for a weekday dinner. Service was prompt but that's probably the only good thing. I got a mocktail which was watery and patatas bravas for appetizer. It was good but a bit saltier for my palate. I got the duck confit which was deplorable. The duck leg was scaly and dry and the sauce and the cauliflower didn't make up for it. My friend got the house burger and she said she liked it. I'm glad we didn't order dessert, it may have been another disappointment. Overall, a meh experience.
