Nice spot to grab some great matcha.. Friendly staff with good recommendations. Levels of matcha to fit your caffeine needs. And a variety of flavors.

Meccha Matcha is one of many matcha shops in Los Angeles and the shop offers 3 different levels of matcha strength for drinks and soft serve ice cream. Meccha Matcha currently has three locations: Cerritos, Long Beach, and Pittsburgh, PA. [Parking]: I had no issue finding available free parking in the small strip mall. [Atmosphere]: Customers can order drinks via a kiosk, and there are about 6 indoor tables. [Menu]: The top 2 highlighted items on Yelp are Matcha Vanilla Oat Latte and Strawberry Matcha. For soft serve ice cream, the shop offers three different levels of matcha. Level 1 = "I am new to matcha or I like matcha" with 85 mg of caffeine. Level 2 = "I LOVE matcha" with 170 mg of caffeine. Level 3 = "I am OBSESSED with matcha" with 255 mg of caffeine. The shop also offers a parfait with 8 different items included and a tea float. *** Matcha Vanilla Oat Latte (Hot, Regular Sweet - $7.95): I liked the drink a lot better than I had expected as the drink had a creamy aftertaste while still being able to taste the matcha. *** This is one of those matcha shops I would love to revisit and explore other options like matcha soft-serve ice cream.

Level Two Match Ice Cream--love it!

I'm a huge fan of the matcha ice cream here! They have three different levels. Level 1 being the lowest in caffeine and matcha flavor. I like getting their Level 3 soft serve because the matcha flavor really comes out--just the way I like it. I believe that they have seasonal flavors. Flavor of the Day can be mixed with Matcha Level 1. When I last went, the flavor of the day was ube, which paired well with Level 1. They also offer lattes, teas, matcha chia pudding, and make their matcha chocolate chip cookies and matcha almond croissants in-house. They have a few seats inside, but I usually order my soft serve to-go. I just found out that they have a location in Long Beach and Pittsburgh. I'm happy to see them expanding and spreading their matcha goodness all throughout!

Im glad they offer different level matcha and flavoravof the week soft serve. Creamy and level 2 Matcha hit the spot, perfect flavor reminds of Japan's true green tea. Service was quick, theyvtake the next available person if the electronic pad is busy. Simple casual ambiance with minimal decor. I noticed though how the softserves arent evenly swirled to near perfection compared to my go to Matcha place in another state.

Cute cafe that's we spontaneously popped into after dinner. Great banana matcha, which was giving dessert vibes.

Came through with a squad of 10 on a serious mission: ceremonial-grade matcha or nothing!!! Meccha Matcha handled the chaos like pros, order in, vibes out, all drinks ready in about 12 minutes which was pretty fast for that size order. The matcha was legit!!! That deep ceremonial green that looks like it has its life together. Taste hits earthy, a little nutty, with just enough sweetness to remind you it's not chewing on grass for fun!!! No, sir!!! Best part is you get to play matcha DJ, pick your strength and sweetness level. I went bold with strong matcha and just 30% sweetness because I like my caffeine to mean it!!! If you're trying to level up your matcha game, this spot's definitely doing it right!! Check em out!!!

I used to go here for a matcha pick me up but now I'm disappointed with how the quality has gone downhill. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and it's more like oat milk with a splash of matcha. I've tried to give it several chances but I can't justify paying almost $9 for sweet milk. I would probably only come back for the soft serve.

3 levels of matcha!! Monkey Buzz was on point, nice Banana flavor and intense coffee. Ddouble espresso and Biscoff crumbles. Pair really well together. Definitely would get again. Matcha strawberry late with Real strawberries. Complex flavor so good. Awesome play list and love the wall art. Customer services was great, they were friendly and patient. We will come back for the soft serve. Parking is limited here lots of restaurants and businesses

    Why so crooked

8/10 Soft Serve with a mix of Hojicha and matcha - Not bad but the second I got my ice cream cone it was already slightly melting which means that it came out of the machine not as ice cold firm as I'd like. I am not a huge fan of the rotating flavors. I actually came here because I saw on Yelp they had a matcha mixed with ube flavor but apparently that ended the week prior. Also the person who made mine did not do the best job and it was pretty sloppy and not very aesthetic. C'mon you can make it neater than this crooked ice cream cone. 5/10 Cost - $9.12 ok this is WAY too over priced. It should be priced at around $7.50 - $8.50 MAX. Trust me, I know the market value of this. I have tried 3 other matcha soft serve spots in the SoCal region in the past couple months.

Honestly one of the best matcha spots! This place is set up perfectly for beginner matcha enthusiasts to professional drinkers. Ranges from level 1-3. The cafe is also appealing to the eyes, so a great spot to also take your matcha photos. The only thing I'd want different is for a larger range of cup sizes . Price range is also great! Not over priced and great matcha quality.

Cravings for matcha satisfied! I went in thinking I'd get a hojicha latte, but the matcha banana pudding latte caught my eye. I'm not too into the ones that taste artificial, but gladly this latte's cream top did not taste artificial at all! It was creamy and smooth, and Ioved the addition of the biscoff crumbles. The lavender soft serve was also great-- it tasted like the honey lavender flavor from Sorry Not Sorry Creamery. My mom said the ceremonial grade matcha level 1 latte was on the lighter side, so she might try the level 2 or 3 next time. Wait wasn't too long even though it was packed inside. We used the self service kiosk and it's easy to search through the menu. It was a plus that it also had pictures and descriptions. The wall decorations were cute and nice to know that they sell matcha and hojicha powder. May give it a try the next time I come around!

Coco Ube & Hojicha Soft Serve
    Shayla D.

What a delicious little place ! I was worried that they wouldn't have any caffeine free options but they have plenty. You can order at the front or the kiosk which is nice. I got the Hojicha Soft Serve and Coco Ube. It was my first time trying Hojicha and its nutty flavor is beautiful. The coconut in the Coco Ube tasted so fresh, definitely my favorite. I can't wait to come back to try more !

Was craving some matcha ice cream on this hot summer day. I guess a lot of other folks were thinking the same thing as it was a little crowded. I decided on the ceremonial grade matcha level 1 soft serve ice cream in a cup and added a strawberry shot topping. This was exactly what I wanted as it was very refreshing and cooled me down. I love the authentic taste of the matcha and enjoy the bitterness with the sweetness. I would've gotten the level 2 or 3 but a strawberry topping sounded good so went with level 1. The ice cream was nice and creamy and reminded me of Japan. It's not always easy to find a true taste of Japan but Meccha Matcha is right there.

The ice cream was a 5/5 for me, the toppings, and waffles combined well giving a crunch to the soft ice cream. Free parking is available but limited, and they have outdoor seating with a v for entertainment. I was joyed to see the international snacks available for purchase! I had to buy some oreos. Another perk was the eatery nextdoor!

Update: They're no longer affiliated with Fivestars!…read more I've since gone two additional times to try their waffle bites. My last trip was kind of spontaneous because I suddenly got a Fivestars reward that day for these waffle bites. However, when I arrived, I was looking for the Fivestars tablet only to be met by a Clover tablet instead. It felt like I went through a time warp because the employee working behind the register didn't seem to have any idea what I was trying to say regarding Fivestars, though he did notice a little trifold card on the front counter mentioning Fivestars. I asked if he could get his manager so I could explain, and even show, him my Fivestars reward. The reward said "already accepted", which he almost thought meant I had redeemed it already, but if that were the case, then it would have said "already redeemed". Given that they've now done away with Fivestars, I'm not too surprised he may have gotten the words "accepted" confused with "redeemed", but luckily, he was happy enough to honor it for me. The employee who assisted me was very helpful, though he did ask me to repeat the topping and the drizzle that I wanted. I chose the Strawberry Cheesecake flavor ice cream with Fruity Pebbles toppings and a Strawberry drizzle on top. Since I had already tried the cookie flavors before, I figured I'd try the fruity flavors this time around. He said he needed about 5 minutes to prepare my waffle bites, which were presented a little different than last time. Last time, I got the Cookie Butter flavor with *Cookie* Crisp and Peanut *Butter* (see what I did there?), and it came in a small plastic takeout container. This one came in a large plastic cup, and I'm thinking the logistics may have changed a ton between my last two visits. I did appreciate how the employee asked if I wanted the waffles on top of or beneath the ice cream before making the waffle bites; I chose on top. He also asked if I'd like powdered sugar on top, to which I agreed. Unfortunately, neither of the waffle bites I got from my last two visits impressed me that much. As a matter of fact, the only thing that impressed me was the strawberry drizzle. Everything else fell kind of flat. While generous in size for the $8 price tag, the Cookie Butter and the Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream didn't really taste like these flavors at all! For whatever reason, the peanut butter didn't add much flavor, but the strawberry drizzle added a lot! How even?! In short, the waffle bites weren't that much of an upgrade from the ice cream scoop that I had on my first visit. I'm willing to say "too much good was no good" here. The waffles themselves were good, but they can only do so much when a flavored ice cream doesn't even taste like that flavor. It's worth noting that on my penultimate visit, when I got the Cookie Butter Waffle Bites, I saw two employees behind the front counter who were ready to take my order. I asked them to explain what the waffle bites were, but it took them a couple of tries to actually understand what I was asking. From what I gathered, the waffle bites were similar to the ice cream scoop I had on my first visit, but with the addition of a warm waffle to supplement the ice cream. However, the step-by-step process remains the same. I was initially told it would take 6 minutes to prepare the Cookie Butter Waffle Bites, but it actually took 15! It seemed like one was training the other or they were trying to gather the ingredients and/or the steps needed to create the waffle bites. After about 10 minutes, I was told by one of the employees they had to make a new batch of waffles because the first batch had burnt. The music was getting pretty loud, so it was hard to hear him after that, but I didn't want to hold up the kitchen prep process any longer. I just said "Alright, sure" so he could continue preparing my order. I do appreciate how he let me know of this so that I'd know the reason for the extended wait, but I wish they weren't so ill-prepared during my visit. So overall, still 3 stars overall. I appreciate the prior partnership with Fivestars, but these missed opportunities have led me to believe that Cravings is just not for me. I doubt I'll try anything else on their ice cream menu, and considering that there are only a few parking spots in their lot, it will take a lot to get me to try their hot chicken. And speaking of lack of parking, I also want to mention that on my second visit, I saw two open parking stalls right in front of Cravings, one on either side of a car. That car had its driver's side wide open so that I couldn't park there. I had to park on the passenger side of that car, which he left much less room for. Perhaps a microcosm of the clientele in this part of town? Everybody deserves a second chance, right? Unfortunately, not everybody can make the most of them, and this is just one example of such. Thanks for the sweet treats Cravings, but I'll get my next one somewhere else.

But…read morewe *remembered* it, anyway, so when, about a month ago, we made the journey out to Artesia to satisfy our desire for a quality Indian buffet (something Long Beach has been lacking in for quite some time), we made sure to save a bit of room for ice cream here - we're pretty spoiled with easy access to Long Beach Creamery, quite possibly the best ice cream on the planet, but while they always have fun and interesting flavors, they aren't *these* flavors. Sadly, I definitely did *not* save sufficient room for the item I most specifically remembered having gotten last time, their falooda, which I *certainly* can't get anywhere in Long Beach, my favorite sort of dessert, being ice cream with a kitchen sink's worth of fun toppings. A decade later I still remember how good that falooda was. Presumably they still are. But we did have room for ice cream, at least a bit. They were happy to let us try as many flavors as we wanted, and there were a few I literally had no idea what they were - though some were just names for already-mixed variants, I learned, for instance, that "gulkand" is their rose ice cream with extra rose-petal candy (extremely tasty!), and that "chikoo" is actually the name of a fruit I'd never heard of (it tastes a lot like rich brown sugar, and goes particularly well with gulkand.) They were also happy to let us mix two flavors as half-scoops for a single scoop cup, and their single scoop cups are *quite* substantial. Long Beach Creamery is still my gold standard in craft ice cream, but everything about the ice cream here also tasted extremely real, made with actual fruits/candies/etc rather than mixes or "flavoring", and it's *almost* as close to the perfect creamy (not too airy or too dense) consistency that LB Creamery nails (Saffron Spot's is just *slightly* denser. Still extremely good. And way cheaper.) Also of note, they have an actual, dedicated parking lot, and at least when we were there, Saturday afternoon about a month ago, there were plenty of parking spaces in it, which felt like a downright rarity for the immediate surrounding area.
