This used to be my go to ice cream spot before Sorry Not Sorry Creamery opened. I still have select flavors that I like here, such as the jasmine milk tea and cookie monster! My mom's go to is either the saigon coffee (as pictured) or the jasmine milk tea. Along with our double scoop today, we took a pint home of the jasmine milk tea as we love the subtle flavor of the jasmine and the creaminess of the ice cream itself. Service was great-- we went around 2 pm today and there was no one given it was a weekday. They tend to get busy during nights since they're open late. But keep in mind, they do open later towards the afternoon (12-2pm depending on weekday vs. weekend). Service was beyond disappointing. We came in with a party of 15 and initially had three employees helping us in the small shop. One of the servers suddenly stopped serving our group midway through and moved on to the next party, leaving the rest of us waiting much longer to be helped. It also felt like we were being rushed through the process, with most of us not even being given the opportunity to sample flavors. When I politely asked the employee to please finish helping our party first, she visibly pouted, barely put any ice cream on the sample spoon I requested, and then abruptly walked away saying to her coworker, "I just can't." No explanation, no apology -- just rude and dismissive behavior. Unfortunately, the employee who replaced her was equally cold and curt. I grew up in a family business, and while I don't believe the customer is always right, I do believe customers deserve basic courtesy, professionalism, and respect. Going above and beyond may not always happen, but simple manners and decent service should still be the standard. Very disappointing customer experience overall. Driven past this location several times. It appears like a busy location. I have big teens that have mentioned going here. With the first week of school coming I took my child and a friend after a playdate. The wait was short but the service was colder than the ice cream. I smiled and took the initiative to say hello because apparently it's not a word that is automatically said when they make contact. I always give the younger generation a pass because this may be their first job. He was so sweet and funny. We actually took his word and went with it. We then over heard the person ahead of us discussing how they do not accept cash, figuring out what payment method they will use. I wanted myself to use cash as I had a wallet filled with money from a cash job. This also added to the whole experience as negative. After I paid it was just like, next! There is something special about going to get ice cream with your friend when you are a kid. My parents would make it a fun even if it was the local Thrifty's ice cream. That may be skewing my expectations. We actually knew the people at the ice cream corner and would get greeted. I understand how much times have changed but for the cost of ice cream (everything) nowadays, every dollar spent has to feel good and worth it all around considering the choices in Cerritos. I would rather spend my money at: Wushiland Boba across the street (they are so friendly), Snowflakes on South (Super friendly) Brusters (love the hustlie from the workers behind the window) or the Dairy Queen (where they have Blizzards and you don't expect to pay top dollar for a scoop) --- There is room for real improvement... The best part of this location is the outdoor eating area. It was shady and quiet when we had our ice cream. Good corner spot and there is plenty of parking. Thank you Afters Ice Cream for doing a collab with BT21. For real, BTS is our ultimate favorite group! The merch was adorable. But now let's get on to the ice cream. We ordered the On Cloud flavor. It was vanilla based with sprinkles, pound cake, and fruit (jam?). It was yummy and reminded me of something the BT21 characters would eat. The Strawberry Milk flavor is definitely something the BTS guys would be eating! My favorite go to flavor at any location is the Saigon Coffee. It's soooo good! The service at the Cerritos location was good. I'm not sure if they had an insane amount of BTS Army come through, but if they did, they still have great service! Purple hearts to the staff. My kids love the Cookie Monster flavor, that is their go to order. But if you like coffee, I really suggest trying the Saigon Coffee flavor. Visit on October 30 at 7:30 PM When I visited, there was a young female employee--she looked under 20--working alone and very busy. When it was my son's and my turn to try samples, she handed us the tiniest amount imaginable--barely the size of a pinky toenail. I thought maybe it was because she was busy, so I didn't mind. After ordering our ice cream, I realized the portion was a bit too much for me alone, so I reached for one of the small cups stacked on the bar to share with my son.
