I love the flavors here at Afters. They have a really good selection of unique ice cream flavors like matcha strawberry crunch, Thai tea, milk and cereal, Cookie Monster just to name a few. Their most popular flavor is the Cookie Monster so we decided to try it. It definitely didn't disappoint, creamy, soft, loaded with flavors. Service was great, the guy was really friendly and helpful. He let us sample some flavors before choosing the one we wanted. Location was clean and minimal. Plenty of outside seats to enjoy your treat.

Great spot for ice cream in the area and variety of flavors to try and for different taste

Located off 183rd St in Cerritos. Parking shared with other businesses in the plaza. No tables or seating inside here and it's not that big inside. They do have a good amount of flavors to choose from. I got the Dubai chocolate bar it was good. The gal working was friendly and helpful. Overall not a bad spot I haven't had Afters Ice Cream in a couple of years.

Decided I wanted dessert before lunch (am I weird for doing this?) Since my friend always talks about this ice cream shop we decided to finally grab ice cream here. The worker was super friendly and let us try several samples which was so helpful given their ice cream flavors are so unique! We each got 2 scoops. My friend got the 1 scoop of the biscotti and 1 ube brownie. I got 1 scoop of the dubai chocolate and 1 matcha berry crunch. Ice cream was so good I'm not sure why I didn't consider this ice cream shop before. I'll definitely be back to try their other flavors.

Delicious gluten free and dairy free ice cream, the Mango Sorbet! The staff greeted us right away and suggested the mango sorbet. The decor is cute and fits the theme of Afters. The mango sorbet was creamy and light at the same time. Will be back!

Perfect late-night stop when the ice cream craving hits. Great flavors, generous scoops, and a fun, relaxed vibe even after hours. Sometimes the best desserts are the ones you find when most places are already closed, and this spot definitely delivers.

Great spot to grab late night ice cream! They have lots of fun and unique flavors as well.

Came here with my daughter for a quick dessert snack. There wasn't a wait so the staff was quick and attentive. Very patient with us and let us try a few flavors before making a decision. I haven't been to an Afters ice cream in years so all I knew was milk and cereal and Cookie Monster. I tried their salty Oreo and that was delicious. My daughter really liked it so we got a single scoop, half half Cookie Monster. It came out to $7 in a cup no toppings. This location is in a busy plaza but there's plenty of seating outside and plenty of parking. The store itself was very clean and easy to navigate. All in all a good stop in for a quick bite of ice cream.

Definitely needed a sweet treat after eating some hotpot at Broth! My friend and I found this nearby and walked. We tried many samples but we ended up going with the first flavor we sampled hahah. I got the saigon coffee! I did sample their new matcha berry crunch flavor and it tasted really good but a part of me wished it was just plain matcha. I sampled the milk and cereal flavor and that tasted good as well!

    Outdoor area is nice.

Driven past this location several times. It appears like a busy location. I have big teens that have mentioned going here. With the first week of school coming I took my child and a friend after a playdate. The wait was short but the service was colder than the ice cream. I smiled and took the initiative to say hello because apparently it's not a word that is automatically said when they make contact. I always give the younger generation a pass because this may be their first job. This time was a little different, the young lady had a blank stare, we had a full stare down, she did not crack a smile or ask any questions (how can I help you? would you like help choosing a flavor? we offer samples, would you like one?, do you need a little more time?") there is endless options :) As we were all first timers, I said something to initiate the flavor debate and a young man that heard me, chimed in and started giving us his recommendations. He was so sweet and funny. We actually took his word and went with it. We then over heard the person ahead of us discussing how they do not accept cash, figuring out what payment method they will use. I wanted myself to use cash as I had a wallet filled with money from a cash job. This also added to the whole experience as negative. After I paid it was just like, next! There is something special about going to get ice cream with your friend when you are a kid. My parents would make it a fun even if it was the local Thrifty's ice cream. That may be skewing my expectations. We actually knew the people at the ice cream corner and would get greeted. I understand how much times have changed but for the cost of ice cream (everything) nowadays, every dollar spent has to feel good and worth it all around considering the choices in Cerritos. I would rather spend my money at: Wushiland Boba across the street (they are so friendly), Snowflakes on South (Super friendly) Brusters (love the hustlie from the workers behind the window) or the Dairy Queen (where they have Blizzards and you don't expect to pay top dollar for a scoop) --- There is room for real improvement... The best part of this location is the outdoor eating area. It was shady and quiet when we had our ice cream. Good corner spot and there is plenty of parking. I am unsure if I will return, the ice cream was good (reason for the 3 star rating) but Cerritos has options considering it cost $30 for 3 of us (the kids got one scoop and one topping).

We saw how large the scoops were on other customers' orders so we each decided on one scoop in a bowl. They have various cone options and waffle bowls if desired. There were quite a few young people working hard in the little enclosed kitchen. We ordered and picked up outside at the window. I was dying for an ice cream sandwich but theirs featured oreos as the cookie so I passed. Hubby got vanilla ice cream, his go to flavor, and i tried the blueberry cobbler. His scoop was a little larger than mine, so that was a bit annoying. He enjoyed his vanilla. The blueberry cobbler was divine; the vanilla was swirled with a good amount of blueberry that tasted fresh. The "cobbler" bits were pieces of sugar cookie, which were not bad but not much flavor, just sugary. There were crumbles as well as little cookie bits. We agreed they offer a quality product and a good sized serving for the price. I would return to try some of the other flavors!

It doesn't wow me, but it does in a pinch when the craving hits. The real standout to me when I start getting homesick for Taiwan is the ground pork over rice. The Tainan style is a little sweeter than what my Taipei family usually makes, but it's still warm, hearty, and comforting. The pork can be on the salty side sometimes, but I usually bring home leftovers and just mix a little bit more rice in. The spicy pork bone noodle soup is another favorite. Rich, creamy broth with good noodles, and comes with sides if you get the combo. I also find myself in here often just for the shaved snow. Fluffy, creamy, not too sweet. The perfect dessert to remind me of Taiwan. Service has been quite good every time I've visited, with buttons at the tables to call servers when you're ready to order or need something.

Personally I think Cafe 86 has one of the best halo halo around. Even compared to a lot of Filipino restaurants and dessert places I've tried, this one stands out. I'd even take their halo halo over Chowking or Red Ribbon. Cafe 86 is basically what I think a modern Filipino halo halo and ube dessert spot should be. Not to mention always friendly staff and super comfy seating. Nice place to chill and catch up for desserts tho a lil small. They've mastered ube here and I love that they're bringing Filipino flavors into more modern drinks and desserts without losing what makes them good in the first place. The ice cream itself was enjoyable, but a few things about the visit may be helpful for other Yelpers to know in advance. They don't offer samples of the available ice cream flavors, which was surprising since many other ice cream shops do. Also, the flavors listed on Yelp and social media did not seem to reflect what was currently available in-store, so I'd recommend checking directly with the café before visiting if you have a specific flavor in mind. We ordered a Level 1 matcha and a mango waffle cone. The flavor options for mixing also appear to depend on what they have already prepared and available that day. There were no pastries available during our visit either. Service was a bit underwhelming, but hopefully the café can improve communication around current flavors, samples, and daily offerings. I'll continue my search for that ideal matcha-ube ice cream combination, but this could still be worth a stop if you're flexible and simply craving matcha ice cream.
