Stopped in really for a pick me up. My cold brew was just right. The foam wasn't too sweet and the cocoa powder on top was a nice touch. Oh! I also noticed they totally remixed the aesthetic. And vibes were vibing! They swapped out the industrial look for a much more warm and organic look. From the plants to the artwork, this look definitely gives cozy. It truly pains me to write this review. This used to be my go-to place to get my caffeine fix. I would come here at least three times a week. It was so much that we would reach free drink status pretty quickly. I would grab an Ube matcha with oat milk for me and a cold brew latte with a shot of espresso and oat milk for my partner. We both would also order the waffles. It was a great little breakfast on the go. And service was top notch--pleasant and quick. The quality of the drinks was consistently great! Plus ordering it all online made it super convenient. Lately, there appears to be a shift at Homeboy Coffee. My drinks have had issues with them (i.e., no coconut syrup, watered down, wrong milk, less espresso shot than previously). Now, the waffle is not available for purchasing through their online ordering system despite them available in the store. Overall, Homeboys is okay. It's a really big pet peeve of mine to go to a coffee shop and order less ice and then they give me significantly less drink. This is my first time at homeboy coffee. I ordered a batch brew but they told me they stopped serving it at 11 AM, so I ordered an Americano with easy ice instead. Nobody told me a third of the drink would be missing. Are they really losing much money on me to just fill the plain coffee? There's not even milk in my coffee so it's not like they're using many resources. The drink was seriously only 2/3 of the way full if not slightly less (see pics) and that just doesn't sit right with me. Got to visit this cafe on a Sunday afternoon and I loved my experience here! Plaza has plenty of parking, interior has a lot of seating, and the music playing was top tier. With the myriad of coffee shops, both old and new, in Cerritos/Artesia area, Homeboy Coffee stands as a solid contender. The drinks stay fresh and trendy and the ambiance is very nice. It's clean, spacious, and well-lit. The staff was friendly and patient with recommendations during my first visit there. So far, Ive had the Sweet Corn Cream Latte and Sweet Corn Cream Matcha and they were both delicious! I would say their corn cream was creamier and tastier than the one that Bopo offered. I can't wait to try their other menu items! Homeboy is usually pretty busy but the I've never had to wait too long of a line, so I assume many of the folks in the shop were studying or just hanging out. It's a small tucked in the corner k-coffee shop. I looove azn corn or sweet potato lattes. Got my corn fix here and was not disappointed. I came in to try a new coffee place last week. I had a cinnamon flavored latte that was recommended to me by the young man at the register. I am very picky about coffee, and I try not to do lattes because they tend to be too sweet, and I don't get the real taste for the coffee. I had the one that was recommended, and it was perfect! Not too sweet, and you can taste the coffee and other flavors. The place is clean and modern. I am excited to bring my husband to check it out. He loves coffee too. Very aesthetic, bustling cafe on a Sunday afternoon. My husband and I dropped by here because he was really feeling coffee, haha. We got the homeboy cold brew latte and a hot homeboy latte. Both drinks were execellent! Great coffee flavor, with barely any bitterness detected. I know this is blasphemy, but I typically like sugary lattes over ones where the coffee flavor is more pronounced mainly because there's some leftover bitterness that I do not enjoy. However, I really liked the coffee here. I could taste the distinctive coffee flavor of both drinks without that bitterness I dislike. Husband also really liked both drinks and found them really smooth. The interior is super clean, and there's a lot of seating and a tad bit crowded, but I really liked the atmosphere of this place. There's a medium amount of parking as it's a part of a mid sized plaza and we had no issues grabbing a spot. The corn flavor is super strong without overpowering the coffee and the cream top gives the drink a nice smooth texture. They have a good amount of seating indoors but it's not super comfortable and a few tables outdoors. The interior has a contemporary, clean design with plenty of seating inside, which makes it a comfortable spot to relax for a bit without feeling crowded. I ordered the yuzu matcha tonic, and it was delicious -- bright, refreshing, and a nice change from the usual coffee or matcha drinks. Definitely something I would order again. Ok finally gave this place a second chance because everyone keeps raving about it. I'm glad I did because they have good coffee! I don't know if that was because they just opened the first time we went but this time around, so much better! The homeboy latte I enjoyed and having oatmilk in it is a huge plus for me! Hubs enjoyed his vanilla latte. We definitely enjoy their roast. Their ube matcha hubs also tried and he said it's pretty good but he preferred their coffee. Service is ok. Came here for the first time. I ordered the matcha with a spritzer and my friend ordered a matcha latte. When we both got our order and tried it, we both weren't sold on the taste of what we ordered. She felt her matcha latte was too sweet and I felt my matcher with the spritzer was too tangy. We each took a sip of the other's drink and decided we like the other's so we traded. Haha. The match quality was ok. I wouldn't say it was the best, and I've had way better in Japan. The place was super busy and seeing so many customers appeared to be the spot to be at. Absolutely love this place! Tried two drinks, their Homeboy Coffee and the Ube Matcha Latte (both half sweet) and both were amazing. The Homeboy Latte was so flavorful (I'm not even sure what's in it, but I'd honestly come all the way back to Artesia just for this). The Ube Matcha Latte was also incredible. You can really taste both the ube and the grassy matcha. The flavors were strong, balanced, and not altered by their sweetner. The service was great also! Found a nice coffee shop for this Homeboy. It's owned by some Homeboy. And it's called Homeboy. Located in Artesia, California. After 2 visits, I decided it was time to write about this. My first visit here... it was very busy on a Sunday. I ordered an Ice Vanilla Latte. From my experience, I waited awhile since it was so busy. Yes, everyone love to come here for coffee. I finally got the drink and it's pretty good. Not too bad. I can see why everyone love it. Then I came back earlier today for a different latte. The parking lot on a Saturday felt like a demolition derby waiting to happen. The line and wait to get the drinks on Saturday felt like we were making a mistake. Ultimately, the hype was real. Homeboy really makes good coffee. Service was friendly but it took forever, simply because of the MASSIVE amount of drinks they have to churn out. They seem to have a pretty solid system in place to try and make sure everyone's drink is made as quickly and seamlessly as possible (a person prepping, a person on the machines, a person pouring and finishing). Kinda funny but the logo got me confused with Thank You Coffee in Chinatown (IYKYK). All the reviews seemed to be right that the place was so busy on weekend so expect pretty loud space. Just stopped by to chill while enjoying my sip, I didn't mind the noise at all and still enjoyed the ambiance. They're popular for anything cream top but I could see a ton of people went for their house latte or matcha as the base, and not a few went for their ube matcha. I took the different path from the crowd this time, going for their seasonal Black Cream Earl Grey Milk Tea. The drink itself might be offered elsewhere, but I found Black Tea foam peculiar. Unfortunately I wasn't a fan and I might should've gone with the majority for either Ube Matcha or Homeboy Cold Brew Latte. Loved the Homeboy Latte (oat milk, maple, and cayenne) although I didn't taste any of the cayenne. I was hoping for a kick! I came by and set up shop to do some journaling, and Homeboy was well equipped for people to hang around for awhile. They have good WiFi, plenty of outlets, and it's in a strip mall with free parking. The biggest downside was the girl who was calling out names for people's orders... the vibes were calm with easy listening music and the customers weren't too loud. HOWEVER, this barista was calling out peoples names like she was shouting in the void, or looking for a lost dog at an EDM concert.
