Sean and I walked into Medawar Jewelers with one simple goal--to try on rings so he could get an idea of what I liked. We had no intention of designing a ring that day, much less falling in love with one. From the very beginning, the team at Medawar made the experience different. Before showing me a single diamond, Brian took the time to get to know me. He asked questions, listened, laughed with us, and genuinely wanted to understand what would make my dream ring...my dream ring. I joked that if money were no object, I'd have a giant pink diamond like Elle Woods. As we tried on different rings and talked through ideas, Brian did something I'll never forget. He grabbed a pink marker and started coloring around the halo of one of the rings I loved so we could actually visualize what pink diamonds would look like. Suddenly, all of us--Brian, Sean, and I--were collaborating. We'd say, "What if we did this?" or "What about that?" and before we knew it, my dream ring was coming to life. Then JP took that vision and transformed it into a stunning custom design. When we saw the rendering, we were absolutely speechless. The finished ring--an elongated cushion diamond surrounded by a gorgeous pink diamond halo--is even more beautiful than we imagined. Throughout the process, the communication was exceptional. Sean was updated every step of the way, and the team even finished the ring a day early so he could propose before his daughter left town. That thoughtful gesture meant more to us than they'll ever know. As someone who leads a team built on relationships, this experience reminded me why connecting with people matters so much. Medawar didn't try to sell us a ring--they built a relationship, listened to what mattered to us, and created something that perfectly tells our story. Great jewelry selection but don't ever have an after purchase issue. Have failed on SEVERAL occasions to fix things satisfactorily and have pushed doing prong build up when there is no need. When I have had it done, you could clearly see where they worked on it. On another piece, my pearl fell out multiple times before they got it right and they kept telling me it was because I got it wet. read more

My fiance purchased my engagement ring here a few weeks ago. He told me that J.P. went above and beyond for him and that he really had the best and most personable experience at Medawar than at the other jewelers he'd gone to. I went in the Monday after Christmas with my fiance to get my ring resized. The girl who helped me was very sweet. She informed me, however, that there would be a bit of a wait on the return time for the resizing - somewhere between three and four days. I was pretty sad, since I was just newly engaged and couldn't wait to show off the ring, but knew that it was the busy seaon, since there would be a lot of proposals between Christmas and New Year's. We were waiting for our pick-up slip, when J.P. came on to the floor. He recognized my fiance, greeted him by name, congratulated us on our engagement, and asked what brought us in. We told him that we were dropping off the ring to be resized, and J.P. immediately said "Let me take care of that for you. I'll have it done for you by tomorrow." My fiancee and I had a poor experience at the Medawar location in Frandor. We visited the store on a Saturday afternoon to see what gold wedding bands they had in stock and at what prices. After picking out one I liked and getting a quote (~$450 for a men's plain 14K gold band), we left to do more shopping and pricing. After some shopping around, we realized their price was fair and returned a few days later to purchase the ring. However, a different sales associate this time quoted a new price for the same men's band that was almost twice the original price (almost $800!). We were utterly shocked, but she insisted that the price offered to us previously was impossible and that the saleswoman from before had made a mistake. After a little haggling the new saleswoman said the lowest she could conceivably go was a little over $600. We left without purchasing the ring, and I personally felt lied to and insulted. Ultimately, we bought a comparable wedding band from another local jeweler who had clearly marked prices on their pieces, and we paid less than this store's originally offered price. read more
