I bought a ring with many small sapphires in 2022. When one stone fell out I took it for repair. Was told that I "wore the prongs down" by wearing it regularly, all prongs would need to be rebuilt for $600. I went to another jeweler who replaced the one missing stone and repaired those prongs for $92. She has consistently pushed for extensive repairs on anything I took in. Came in to get a holiday gift and to take a peek at replacing a lost wedding band set. Everyone was so nice, not fake or pushy like the others stores we'd been to. I didn't feel pressured to buy; no one showed me things "just a little outside your budget," no one demanded i leave a phone number etc. what a refreshing concept. In the end we agreed on a replacement band and I even found a dream engagement ring to replace the one I'd lost. Fast forward 24 hours and life circumstances drastically change for us. We called right away and the store was able to assist us. I can't believe how wonderful they are to work with. When things get back to normal for us, I'll be right back here to buy again! I've had two bad experiences now. One wasn't a huge deal, but really not a good sign and the second was really awful and not redeemable. The first was that I bought a piece of jewelry and it broke after the first time I wore it. That's not a good sign and I should have seen that as a sign of things to come. I took in earrings to get fixed, there was a slight issue but nothing huge, just wanted to fix it before the stone fell out. They made the issue worse and now the earrings aren't even wearable and I had to pay for this. My earrings are just sitting in their box now and these were a family heirloom. If you love a piece of jewelry, do not trust this place to fix them. They will completely ruin your pieces. You're better off driving to Detroit to get repairs done. There is no other option in the area so they take advantage of that. read more

My fiance got my engagement ring here and we both decided to come back to get our wedding rings here. Service: The main thing I dread are pushy-employees, and they were not pushy at all! They were very helpful, patient, and great at explaining everything. Emphasis on patient - we were pretty indecisive. They also were considerate of our budget and didn't try to suggest things that were too expensive. Be very careful when purchasing an item from this business. Ensure that what you are purchasing is the real thing. A year ago, I was in the market to purchase an engagement ring. I needed to purchase a loose diamond for the setting. The initial GIA certified diamond that I liked was too expensive and I wanted to look at less expensive options. I was shown a diamond that was described to me as being 1.02 cts, F color and SI2 clarity. I was informed that it did not come with a GIA certificate, but that it was graded by GIA trained staff and met GIA grading standards. I purchased it. I have three documents, two receipts and an email, from Medawar Jewelers that state it is F color and SI2 clarity. Medawar's appraised value of the ring: $12,000. Recently, I've taken this ring to five different jewelers to have it examined. The consensus is that the loose diamond is not F color or SI2 clarity according to GIA standards. The fifth jeweler is a GIA certified gemologist. I paid for a full appraisal. The diamond is "H-I" color and "I" in clarity. Certified appraised value of the ring: $6,700. read more
