If not for St. Louis Home Retention, we would have lost our home to foreclosure. We are…read moreself-employed, business had gotten very slow and we were behind in our payments. We had tried to work with the lender and complete the loan modification forms ourselves but to no avail. I had heard the St Louis Home Retention ad numerous times on the radio and finally wrote the info down and contacted them. I told Steve everything, and it was bad, and right away he said they could help. We met with Steve back in October and he told us exactly how the process works, how long it would take, (it is not a quick process thanks to the lenders) and how much it would cost. I went to his office and asked for paper work, confronted him about not informing me he was a debt collector. He proceeded to yell at me like a child, started walking towards me in a failed attempt to intimidate me, and had two other associates of his do the same. I have audio recording of this and taking proper steps with both police and attorney. Beware or this place biggest man child I've ever seen because he got called out on shady tactics.

Demand for Resolution…read more Dear Haven Home Equity (Top Flight Financial) I am writing to formally complain about the handling of my refinancing application and to demand a prompt resolution. I was recently informed by your credit department that my application was denied because my mortgage company processed an escrow modification. This is unacceptable, especially since my mortgage payments have been current since July 2025. Throughout the two-month process, Tim and other representatives repeatedly led me to believe that my loan would close without issue. I was specifically told, "I see no reason why your loan would not be approved." At no point was I clearly advised that approval was uncertain or that unresolved issues could prevent closing. I completed extensive paperwork, provided documents that were not required, and repeatedly requested updates and return calls, many of which never occurred. I also paid nearly $700 for an appraisal based on your representations that the loan was moving forward. I was even advised to miss a car payment to help cover the cost, which forced me to make a double payment later. This experience has caused serious financial and emotional stress to me and my family and has negatively affected my health while I am fighting cancer. As a retired disabled veteran, I find your company's lack of professionalism and communication unacceptable. I am demanding: A full refund of the appraisal fee; A written explanation of the precise reason for denial and the documentation relied upon; A written apology for the misleading representations, delays, and poor communication; and A complete review of how my application was handled.this matter is not resolved, I have escalated it through your corporate chain of command and file complaints with the BBB and appropriate consumer-protection and regulatory agencies.
