I've been on the Medifast program for 8 weeks now and am extremely pleased with my results. I've lost about 35 pounds in only 2 months! I say about because every day that goes by I weigh less than the day before! Thinking back I have spent so much money on so many different things including a 2 year gym pass from Costco, an elliptical, a heart rate monitor watch, dumbbells for at home, medicine ball, new shoes, new workout cloths, LOTS of "weight loss" supplements from stores like GNC, and so on. Behind each purchase was 100% full confidence that this was the time I was really going to do it and loose the weight I've been talking about loosing for so long (YEARS). However, within a couple weeks of each attempt my motivation had fizzled out to nothing and I was back to the same old habits and the "workouts" were gone again. With each burst of motivation I would workout (which in itself was such a challenge) and never "really" change my diet. I've now learned you can't work off a bad diet. I can honestly say Medifast is easy to follow. It doesn't leave much room for you to make any bad decisions. Eating their 5 bars throughout the day is brainless and very habit forming and eating the "lean and green" meal is something to look forward to in the evening and allows for a lot of creativity. I've never fully tackled the "diet" portion for loosing weight in the past. I would always just try burning a lot of calories during a workout. Which eventually just killed me. I was even to the point where I felt there was no going back [to being healthy and in shape]. I would defiantly recommend Medifast to anyone who truly wants to change their life. However, I would not recommend only ordering food online. I don't believe I would be this far without having to check in once a week, get weighed measured etc. I would have gone back to my old ways weeks ago. Accountability is the only reason I've succeed next to the motivation of seeing the numbers drop daily! I cannot stress the accountability enough. It certainly does cost more to have the counseling, but it's a whole lot less than all the money I've wasted in the past on things that not only didn't work but had me gaining weight in the end, over and over again. I only wish I would have discovered Medifast years ago. To comment on the previous comments, my wife and I have only had fantastic experiences in San Marcos. All the people are extremely nice and caring. And again I don't believe any sort of online forums can replace the in-person counseling. It's just to easy to forget about it or not care. If it's free your looking for go for the online version, but if someone would have told me I was guaranteed to loose this much weight (without exercise) I'd throw down any day. Again, if you want to make sure you do NOT fail, do the in person counseling. You get workbooks to do to help you identify your problems areas, a book to give you your new knowledge of eating healthy, your food journal that you must write everything down to be reviewed by your counselor every week and the moral support. These items can't be replaced. So, do it right and only do it only once! Also, I too went on vacation with my family and stayed on the Medifast diet the entire time. When we came back from vacation my wife and I had both lost weight. Medifast has tips for success and an "eat out cheat sheet" to help you out. With their meal replacements it's difficult to deviate from the plan, unless you really just aren't serious about it in the first place. read more

I love this Medifast program! I knew I had to try something that said I really care about myself with my health and image. I was hesitant a little are first just because of the initial fee but I thought about it for a minute and asked myself "why am I even questioning this? It is a great deal to be on a program that you have your own consultant guiding you and encouraging you all the way, weekly weigh in ( accountability, which God knows I needed) and plenty of food to eat throughout the week and I can still drink coffee!?" I'm in.:) Its been almost 2 months I have lost 23 lbs and my pants are falling off but I refuse to go shopping yet because it keeps coming off and I will wait to reach my goal weight in another 2 months. It is a lot easier than I thought it would be. They even told me not to exercise too much.lol OK;) My consultant Erica is Amazing! She keeps me motivated and I look toward to seeing her and reporting my week to her (good or bad) she helps me make decisions to keep me or get me back on track. She always ask if we have any challenges coming up in the next week ( like social events that will have food off the list,etc) so she can help us prepare and feel good about our decisions and still be satisfied. I can go on and on about Media fast and my awesome consultant Erica in San Marcos and how I wish I would of done this years ago when I noticed I'm sucking it in to put my pants in but I am now living this great experience and have learned so much to keep me healthy, its no more "talk" anymore for me just visible results from one simple action putting my foot through that door and saying Yes!:) Thank you to all in the San Marcos center! Medifast in San Marcos has done what Jenny Craig & Nutrisystem could not .... consistenly lose weight!!!! I would lose MAYBE 8 lbs then nothing for months. At JC I had a different counselor, seemed like every other week, I would have to explain myself all over again to each one. When I would call them noone knew what was going on ... really frustrating. A friend talked me into trying Medifast after I saw his results, sure the price scared me but get your priorities in line. Can other monies that you spend be shifted to pay for this? How important is it for you? How determined are you to start looking good and don't mind looking at yourself in the mirror again? I saw inches lost in 2 weeks, lost 8 inches in 4 weeks! This is the best controlled weightloss program I have ever tried. EASY, convenient food for on-the-go careers like mine and good too! I am almost to my goal with the help of Kelly F, she is so good and knows her stuff. When doing online weightloss it is toooooo easy to cheat. For those who really want to lose weight go to a center, be accountable to someone, and you'll lose it in no time! I've been fighting off the weight I gained after my 2nd pregnancy for 4 yrs now. And I know for a fact that this weight is also a major contributing factor for my flare-ups with my RA. I've tried different kinds of diet and bought different workout equipments, but nothing helped. One day, as I was driving to work, I heard about "MEDIFAST" in the radio- It piqued my curiosity so I researched and read everything about it in their website. It sounded so good to be true .... but ... here I am - ... 3 lbs away from my goal !!! This Medifast center SAVED my life!!! Firstly, the program is by far the Best diet I have ever done in my life! I will forever be a fan, and if at anytime in the future, I need to drop 5 pounds, this will be my go to place for sure! I've lost 60.6 pounds so far and Yes, it definitely works! As for the staff, I love them all!! They are supportive, encouraging, and always helpful! I will forever be grateful to this center and the wonderful staff that works there! I started at the Medifast Center in Oceanside whhich has now transfered over to the San Marcos location along with the staff from Oceanside. Since day one it has been great. Meghan, Michelle, Sam(antha) and Gabby. I couldn't have asked for more help, everyone is extremely nice and helpful, no matter what I needed. The program was fantastic, with the help from Michelle met my goal several months before scheduled. Everything was explained how the program worked and tremendous help from the beginning. Sad to read some of the other comments about this center, I can't answer to the others but I can say anyone that goes to the center would never have any issues with the ones I mentioned above. read more

I don't really understand the bad reviews. It is a business after all, designed to make a profit. I went there for a year, lost 70 pounds and felt like a VIP each time I did my check in. Service was good, Weekly discussion about how the plan was going etc. I got what I paid for. It wasn't cheap, but I would gladly pay it all over again after trying on my own for 30 years to lose the weight. It is a good program. The program works great, I lost over 25 pounds in a few months. Our counselor (Tracee) is very good a her job, motivating and very helpful, she calls and/or emails us regularly and the one-on-one meetings with her are always enjoyable. The weigh-ins are probably the key to the success, knowing that your accountable helps you stick to the program. i must say we are grateful, i think both my wife and i are feeling really good about ourselves and that translates into a whole lot of other good things happening. read more

I became a client of the San Marcos Medifast in 2010. I find all the counselors at this center to very caring, polite, and accommodating. I was forced to take time away from the diet due to surgery. No problem, as I was able to resume without penalty. Appointment scheduling, and rescheduling, can be done easily. The staff is helpful with recipe ideas and suggestions for shopping. I reached my goal and have been on maintenance for 10 months .This was definitely the program. for me. read more

My husband and I have had great success with this program at this center. All the counselors are friendly, encouraging and helpful. We started in May 2010 and have lost a combined total of 100 lbs. We started because of health concerns which have now all but gone away. No need for gastric bypass!! We took our food on vacation and other trips and are very happy with the results. I tried Medifast online a year ago and saw some success, then gained the weight back plus some. I decided to join the Medifast center in San Marcos and met my goals and am keeping it off. For me I needed the in person support and tools to help keep on track and keep the weight off. The Oceanside center has recently merged and the staff is great!
