You'd never actually know how cool this place was until you go inside and take a look around. It's located in an industrial park area right by the Market District in Robinson. This bakehouse provides bread for the restaurant "Mediterra Cafe" in Sewickley which is quite the place to be as well! They also provide bread all over Pennsylvania, to many different places, even all the way down to Florida! When you first walk in, to the right as you can see in my pics, there is a selection of fresh small bread snacks you can buy, and a wall where they provide bread to buy along with pick up orders. My friends Nick & Andy work at this location. They both work in the back making the bread and speak so highly of this company. Both of them are real stand up guys! I met their manager as well; he was kind and professional and seemed to be running things very smoothly! Nick gave me a little tour of the bake house. How cool it was! He explained to me the process of each type of bread and how things function. I learned that the marking on the bread is called "scoring" ! Everyone was working together so nicely & seemed to be having a great time. Funny to say, all the bread looked so pretty! I wanted to try it all. The back of the bakehouse has tons of ovens and several different types of breads being made at once. The ceilings are so high, which you'd never tell by looking at the front outside of the building. I'm sure the high ceilings help with the warmth because it was warm back there. There's even a pastry room and rooms filled with ready to go bread to be shipped out. I was impressed! They do a lot of hard work back there to produce such amazing tasting bread. Props to them! My aunt and I bought some rosemary olive oil bread, scones, biscottis and a couple of muffins. They are DELICIOUS! You can tell this company treats eachother like family and has a great connection. Everyone I came in contact with whether it was in the front or the back was super nice & friendly. Everything was clean and organized which I'm sure isn't easy to keep up with in a bakehouse filled with yeast and flour everywhere ;) I would recommend this bakehouse to anyone looking for AMAZING BREAD and reliable business. Go check it out for yourself!

This review is based on their cinnamon bun My place of work was feeding us on a very busy pre Thanksgiving morning I was told Mediterra is famous for their buns Very nice sturdy packaging Big beautiful looking buns with drizzled icing They truly looked beautiful So I'm excited Sadly the bun seemed dry possibly a bit stale? The cinnamon and frosting ratio were perfect but not enough to counter the dry Perhaps a bit in a microwave would have changed the outcome for me I'm willing to try again

Coming to the bake house feels like home to me. The staff is like family, and the bread is amazing. Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Also, Aundrea's pastries are out of this world. I mean it when I say she makes the best buttercream icing I've had to date, and her creativity is unmatched. She's made the cakes and desserts for almost all of my major life events and we always receive a million compliments. Here's an example of the cake she made for my daughter's second birthday. You truly can't find a better cake artist in the Pittsburgh area.

After bookmarking my favorites from the recent Yelp event I was off to find this Mediterra Bakehouse. It is a little tricky to find because it sits in building number 8 at the far end of an industrial park in Robinson Twp. The owner had given me directions so my girlfriend and I headed out. The place is very small. Since we had come mid afternoon they were putting out their day old breads and pastries. My girlfriend wanted to try the same pecan cranberry bread I had purchased at the event. I was glancing over some of their dinner rolls and came across pretzel buns! They looked tempting but I have the same loaf she bought and wanted to finish that first. So we were looking at their scones. We saw the traditional ones but they had pumpkin ones hidden among them. The scones sell for $2.00. We decided to get them because we were told they weren't making any more for this holiday season. They have such a nice variety of different kinds of breads and loaves along with croissants, danishes, and brownies to name a few. We were again advised not to refrigerate the bread but rather freeze it. My girlfriend asked about toasting it and we were told by all means. So you have the option of either heating your bread in the oven at 325 degrees for about 20 minutes or letting it toast. Lastly he told us it's best to call ahead with our orders so they can be the freshest possible. We came home and I had to at least try part of that pumpkin scone drizzling with that icing. You could just taste the mouthwatering pumpkin! So good! I saw they also have a website where you can order from direct as well. It's great knowing that sometimes the best places are right under your own nose! Yes this is a hidden gem but worth every penny of it. They are open daily. Take the Campbell's Run Road exit if on the Parkway West. Make a right at the exit then turn left onto Glass Road and then another left onto Parkway View Dr. Look for Building number 8 and you will find them.

I usually purchase their breads at Whole Foods, or at the farmers market in Market Square on Thursdays.....I have never been disappointed!........Whether it's the delicious challah bread or the hard to resist pretzel rolls (My co-worker and I seriously run to purchase them before they're sold out). I've yet to journey to their retail store, but it's definitely on my list!

Aundrea made my wedding cake dreams come true! The cutting cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious and our guest could not stop telling us how it was the best cake they ever had! We loved it so much that I ordered another one for my sister's 30th birthday!

I'm so excited for them to be in Sewickley, I'm just walking distance from my place. Couldn't be happier. Every cheese I have tried has been delicious. Porchetta sandwich and salmon toast is awesome. Lemon cream puff not too sweet and so yummy. Can't wait to try everything else on the menu!

The first thing that comes to mind when going to Mediterra is "absolute delicacy"! I had the pleasure of going to Mediterra at a catered event so I was able to try many of the food choices and overall I felt very impressed. Attached to my review you can find the menu of the catered foods that we had tried. Of the many delicious foods that I've tried my favorite dish would definitely have to be the sprouted grain salad with the with roasted sweet potatoes and lentils. Because this place is fancy the salad also includes farro, quinoa, herbs, radish, fennel, musclum greens and toum. The dressing was especially delicious and complemented the nutty, earthy flavor of the grains as well as the fresh herbs throughout the salad. It was very well balanced. I also really enjoyed the heirloom squash soup with the fennel, maple and herbs. I actually never would have thought that fennel would taste so good with the squash and beans in the soup and the soup also went really well with the salad to the point where I was even mixing the two together. I might even call it the best soup and salad combo I've ever had! My partner and I also really enjoyed the succulent salmon with dill and butter and the very rosemary flavored chicken which was just as tender and delicious as the salmon. I could also tell that the coffee they served was of higher quality. The only food selections I personally didn't prefer would be the strong white and red wines, the strong and hard cheeses, and the roasted marble potatoes (although I did like the other roasted vegetables). Another downside was that there wasn't enough space in the restaurant for everyone who was there. As a result, we were stepping over one another's toes and blocking one another from being able to use the bathroom or be seated very easily. Also, as shown from the other menu that I posted the prices are not very reasonable.

wonderful discovery near the PIT airport while waiting for a flight. So many good breads and fancy spreads. Enjoying a deconstructed oat milk iced latte that is quite exquisite. currently, Mediterra using Parlour Coffee (Brooklyn) and the espresso is their Wallabout blend -- the iced cubes also being Wallabout but from cold brew method. nice to taste it in both forms. I'm also enjoying theirsourdoughh boule which is quite sour.

Mediterra was one of the vendors included in our Perfectly Paired Pop up wedding and we could NOT have been happier! The cake was gorgeous and tasted even BETTER! we had a vanilla cake with fresh raspberries. So delicious and the fruit was so fresh! Definitely going to reorder for our anniversary!

They have two cases of their delicious looking pastries, one table of discounted items, and a case serving hot items. Open that case and serve yourself the hot mini quiches and empanadas. Started with a mini quiche and a beef empanada. Hubby liked his quiche. I'm not a fan of olives and they were all over my beef empanada. Will not be getting that one again. The kind young lady behind the case helped us order our very first Burnt Almond Torte. It comes in different sizes and we chose the bar as it easily serves two. She even gave us sporks to eat it with. We really loved the Burnt Almond Torte. The inside has a soft, moist vanilla cake layered with a thin layer of icing and enrobed with more icing and topped with the buttery, crunchy almonds. We will be back for more.

I started with the quiche and enjoyed it; the crust was just average but the egg filing was very good. My wife was not a fan of the empanada so we will not get that again. It was around 10 hours before we tried our Burnt Almond Torte...wow! That dessert is something that I will eat again, and again. The toasted almonds were soooo good! They were crunchy, crispy, and perfect. The Bar Cake had a white cake inside and icing on the outside; it was heavily coated in those almonds. The person who assisted was knowledgeable about the items to a point; she did not eat anything in the bakery so it was by observation. Don't care, that Burnt Almond Torte is the real deal!

Since my best friends birthday is tomorrow, I wanted to get her something thoughtful. I was planning of getting a cake elsewhere, but decided to purchase a dessert here and give it a try.
