    Sourdough Olive

This is what a high end Boulangerie in France looks like. Their bread is spectacular. The staff were so friendly and they gave a FREE sourdough starter. You have to try their Sourdough Olive, it's seriously great. I showed them my pictures of a bread shop in Lyon, and told them that they are doing everything right. There's a small cafe area which is cute. There's a 5 minute parking spot right out front. I hope you love this place as much as I do.

The baked goods here are so tasty, and the coffee is decent, too. I tried a number of their baked goods, including their cardamom bun, chocolate rye cookie, and hazelnut croissant. The pastries are flaky, crispy, and packed with flavor. I liked how the cookie was very chewy without being too sweet. I stopped by on a weekday around lunchtime to try one of their baguette sandwiches. They only had the mozzarella sandwich at the time. Initially I was a little disappointed because I was hoping for something salty and punchy like a ham and cheese, but ended up really enjoying the mozzarella. The light flavor of the mozzarella allowed the chewiness and flavor of the bread to shine. I imagine that the bread would have gotten masked by something with a stronger flavor like ham. I would highly recommend trying them out if you like bread and pastries! There are plenty of outlets and tables in the back for hanging out or getting some work done.

Stopped by for a snack and WiFi when my power was out. Place was packed but I got some charge and a nice snack.

Everything fresh, cute interior, decent seating, is more for yapping than studying imo bc pretty loud; sandy is good but the pastries are really really good. latte is solid too. Also have real bread. might be one of my favorite bakeries here!

Hmmm. Someone recommended this bakery to me, so there I went. Walking, with 28F, hoping it would be worth it. Upon arrival everything seemed great. A smiling face to welcome you, good scent and places to sit (no wifi that I could see). I ended up ordering a hazelnut croissant, a mushroom tart and a cappuccino. Tipped $2 and waited to pick up what I had ordered. They do not take it to your table or anything like that. Grab and go but you tip. I don't know you but I prefer a savory eggy, cheesy tart to be warmed up. When I requested if that could be done for the croissant and tart... "No, sorry, we cannot do it" ... at a bakery with ready to eat items? Then I seat down and when I cut into the croissant I see it is chocolate, so I go to the front to look at the croissants and visually confirm what I had been given. Yes, I was given the hazelnut croissant but their hazelnut is 'chocolate'? I don't know if that was Nutella but it was not a hazelnut croissant. Now, regretful of having tipped at all, I see my receipt and I was charged a different croissant that had a higher charge. The tart had potential and the coffee, although small, was well prepped. Glad to have tried it. Not coming back any time soon.

Loved the options as well as the inside seating area! Not pictured in my photos are a cardamom bun that was *chef's kiss* amazing. I would definitely splurge on a handful of pastries when making the trip out here!

Went for some pastries and coffee on a Sunday morning. The service is quick and staff is friendly. The rubarb almond pastry was so delicious! Perfectly tart and sweet. The pecan cookie was a rich treat. Lots of seating in the back room, nice that they had no music playing.

We decided to try out this small Bakeshop when we were in Pittsburgh for the weekend because it was down the street from our family we were visiting. On arrive there was a bunch of parking and a line outside! We realized it was a popular place and they were very fast to get people in and out. We ordered a bunch of things to share including traditional croissant, chocolate croissant, ham & cheese croissant, hazelnut croissant, and cinnamon sugar roll sort of croissant. We also ordered some lattes that they make right in shop! The price for everything was VERY reasonable for how much we got. There was a bunch of tables in the back to sit at, but we decided to take them home. Traditional croissant: recommend, it was VERY flakey and delicious Chocolate croissant: it was okay, it's hard to find a chocolate croissant with enough chocolate Hazelnut croissant: this one by far was my favorite! It had a lot of flavor Ham and cheese: unfortunately this is where i did deduct the star because it was raw Cinnamon sugar: definitely another favorite very delicious Overall I would recommend and go back when im in the ar

Great spot. I like how their bakery style is more sweet or savory breads, croissants, pies etc instead of only sweeter cakes/cupcakes. Whatever you get- make sure you get something with apple in it- they are phenomenal! Might be a line outside but it's worth it & you can go for a nice walk around homewood cemetery/frick park after if you're inclined.

Best croissants I've ever had. The everything croissant and the chocolate croissant are huge and only $3-$4. Crunchy on the outside perfectly fluffy on the inside. Delicious. Keeps well in the fridge too. Usually buy a weeks worth on Saturday. Have also tried some of their other stuff like the ham and cheese which was a little too salty. Baguettes are also solid but not amazing. Just get their croissants. So. Good. Lots of parking is on the street. Always a 10+ minute line stretching outside. Not a lot of seating inside or outside.

It seemed a pretty hard-core bakery, from the exposed brick vibe to the Old World loaves to the delectable looking pastries. I had room for only a blueberry almond tart and a chai latte, and I suspect I am missing out on bread. My beverage, however, was balanced in flavor and full to the brim, and my tart possessed an extreme flakiness that presumably requires some significant technique to achieve. Their seating area was not huge, but I found a spot and was able to enjoy in peace.

Another holiday order - getting all the Christmas-limited treats! The chocolate orange muffin, peppermint chocolate scone and Christmas tree shaped cookie (peppermint flavor). Also bought two more bread as usual - their Finnish rye and multigrain sourdough. The multigrain has a crusty thin outside and soft, moist inside, perfect for sandwiches.

Amazing selection of breads, pastries, and cookies! Olive loaf was super good. Very nice tarts such as pumpkin, mushroom, etc.

Great spot for dessert after dinner or as part of a date, too. I specifically went in for the "fancy" hot chocolate, which is made with real chocolate pieces. The baked goods were also tasty - my only suggestion is to make sure you ask to have your item warmed up, depending on what you get, as they are kept in a cool case and something like a brownie for example was pretty hard to eat. The sever did recognize this and offered to heat it up after the fact; which made it perfect. All of the baked goods were perfectly wrapped or garnished. The interior has a decent amount of seating and lots of dried flowers everywhere. Definitely try the hot chocolate!

The croissants were great when you lightly air fry/toast them if you don't eat them right away. In Lawrenceville, it's a small location with a couple of outdoor seating but none inside. However, it is a chain so you might have one in your little area. My only thing is that the pistachio eclair is very sweet (so if you don't have a sweet tooth, maybe I'd go for another subtler dessert). I saw they have a deal where you can get a baguette, sandwich, and drink for $7. Good deal imo considering the quality of their bread, and it's a good excuse to buy a sweet treat with it!
