LOVE!!! We ended up taking our boy Maverick to Pet Vet Urgent Care Blue Ash around 1:30pm due to his worsening swelling in his leg. Was told there was a wait until initially 5:30pm, which then turned to 7:40pm by the time they checked us in somehow, and ended up being 8:09pm by the time we ended communication with them. We notified them around 6pm that his condition had worsened, had multiple pockets of fluid throughout his body, was very warm, and his stitches around his neuter were red. They then told us that we needed to find somewhere else to take him and we couldn't be seen at all by them tonight. Understand the need for priority of urgent animals first, but at least have the decency to tell us earlier or give us an accurate idea of when he can be seen. Very disappointed to say the least. We then called basically everywhere from Cincinnati to Dayton that was open and got responses that they all had between 5 and 12 hour wait times. Eventually, we decided to just take him to MedVet Cincinnati to be seen and have vitals taken asap and they could let us know next steps. He had a temp of 103.3 and she agreed that it's most likely an infection. They were so caring and loved him almost as much as we do and got us in and out within 30 minutes. We are now home, waiting on their call to bring him in to be seen by a vet and get a clear diagnosis, but it is most likely an infection from him licking his neuter site, and now there's fluid spreading through his leg and now a visible pocket in his stomach. They also offered to do a full blood work up to make sure there isn't anything else wrong given his length of stay at the shelter and how malnourished he still is and the fact that he was a stray. UPDATE: We never received a call that night and had to call them the following morning to get any kind of response. We then went to other vets in the area and also couldn't be seen due to being booked. Finally at 10am we get a text that they're ready for us so we drive over in 15 minutes. We get checked back in, vitals retaken, and then sat there for over 2 hours while everyone else who comes in is seen and taken care of except us. At that point, we got in contact with Wyoming Veterinary Clinic and they got us in within an hour and we were in and out of their clinic in under 30 minutes and for much less money than MedVet would've charged us. If you need emergency care - DO NOT go here. Call around and worst case scenario, walk in somewhere and they can take a look. HIGHLY recommend Wyoming for any of your pet's needs!!! read more

I have had good experience with the staff in physical therapy who helped my German Shepherd rebuild the muscles needed to keep her moving and playing into the 12th year of her life. That said I brought her in on a Sunday only because my own vet was closed. She seemed to be having breathing difficulties and over the week before she was lethargic and not her usual playful self. Given her advanced age, I was very concerned she was not going to make it through the 50 minute trip. When I arrived at MedVet the staff was putting another dog on a stretcher. They hog/tied the do, and when they came to my dog they quickly did the same. I cringed knowing that my dog had spine issues and probably was in pain being held in that position. Certainly that issue would have been in her records. It is important to know thatMed vet does not allow the dog owner be with the dog during treatment, a policy that needs to be changed in my opinion. After about two hours a vet explained to me that they had done a chest X-ray and that they had uncovered growths on her lungs. The vet suspected cancer and asked if I wanted to do a biopsy which I declined given that she already was having hip problems and had lived well beyond expectations for a German Shepherd. Atty was an amazing dog and had a wonderful life full of frisbees and soccer balls. I concluded that euthanasia was the best option given her pre-existing issues and her age. I expected the euthanasia would happen within the hour. Instead I was brought to a very cold room and waited for about three or four hours. They told me I would have time to be with my dog in privacy and I could push a button when we were ready to do the euthanasia. I pushed the button once and was told I should wait until they brought my dog in. The wait was excruciating. Around 4 pm (we had arrived around 12 if my memory serves me correctly) My dog was wheeled into the room. She was hog tied on a metal table. The person who was waiting to do the euthanasia asked me if I wanted her to leave so that I could have a private moment with her. In all honesty at this point I just wanted to end my dog's misery and I reminded myself she was probably heavily sedated. In hindsight I wish I had had the presence of mind to insist that they take the hog ties off. Most importantly, if we were going to wait four hours or so why couldn't they bring my dog into that space, and I could have been with her that whole time? These are the questions that currently haunt me. Given the policy of separating pets from their owners surely raises a lot of questions about what is going on with our animals when they are separated from us. I was unprepared for how bad this experience would be because In 2005 we had another German Shepherd dog who had cancer and needed to be euthanized. The staff and the protocols at that time were very different. We were allowed to be with our dog the whole time. When it was time to be euthanized they took us into a very comfortable room, I sat on the floor with my dog, and the vet/tech explained the procedure to me i.e. the sedative first and then the shot to euthanize the dog. All of us including the dog were sitting on the floor. There was no hogtie, no metal tables, and soft lighting. As a result of my using Med Vet for physical therapy for our dog I know there are wonderful people working there who do the best they can for the animals they treat. I strongly suggest that corporate look at their business model to find a way to deliver timely, humane, and appropriate care for the animals they treat. I have subsequently verified that hog tying a dog is extremely distressing. The bill for this horrendous experience is now $1901.87. MedVet profits in 2023 were 57.6 million dollars. I gave MedVet a low rating but this has nothing to do with the staff failings; Indeed Medvet is probably failing its staff. I strongly suggest they rethink their business model. Hiring more staff would deal with the long waits, paying better salaries would keep consistent staffing and most importantly allowing owners to stay with their pets would alleviate mistrust. With such a policy one has to ponder what the Company wants to hide. read more

MedVet... just wow These people have officially saved my dogs life.... TWICE!!! The staff is super sweet and helpful!! They were patient and accommodating to not only me but my pup! He has anxiety around other dogs and really loves being with people but he had to stay over night, so they let him stay in the break room because he was crying!!! Just sweet people who actually are about animals and helping. They were very understanding about budget and payment planning. I called before I went there and asked a question regarding to the process for my dog. I told them I would be on my way very soon. I arrived at the facility at quarter till 2:00 PM. Upon getting there a veterinary assistant, "took my dogs vitals" but upon bringing my dog back, informed me that she didn't even bother looking at what I had brought my dog there for in the first place and that she couldn't because she is not a vet and currently no vet was at the facility. The place is called MedVet. It's a medical emergency place for dogs That's open 24/7. That's an Oxymoron in and of itself. Like I said earlier, we talked on the phone and I had told them I was on my way. I should have been told at that time that no vets for available at that moment so I could have made an informed decision and taken my dog somewhere he could have received proper care. Going on seven hours later as I type this, I'm still sitting in the lobby of MedVet. My dog's scar has reopened, bled all over the floor. They put a band aid on it up and sent him right back out to me and said they'd get it to it later. My dog has not used the bathroom because I'm scared of his bleeding getting worse. He needs to take his medication for his wound with his food and that's at home. My other dog is at home starving and hopefully hasn't used the bathroom in his crate. A multitude of people have come and gone while I remain. When I brought this to the attention of the person at the front desk, they barley would look over their monitors at me and pretty much ignored me. Today I had an appointment for my miniature schnauzer. It was for the neurology department. She was having difficulty moving one of her legs and our primary vet suggested that it was a neurological problem. I called MedVet on Tuesday and was immediately met with a kind person on the phone, who scheduled me an appointment for Thursday. Today being Thursday, we arrived to MedVet and we met with friendly people behind the counter and were immediately brought back to our waiting room after five minutes of sitting in the lobby. the staff who examined our dog were welcoming and knowledgeable. Nicky/Nicki ???? came out to my car and retrieved my dog. She was quite professional and calming. I assumed that my dog was having a stroke. When she returned she informed me that after examining a vomit sample, it seemed that he had ingested part of a cigar that had been rolled with pot. Evidently he found it on our evening walk as I don't smoke anything. I can't say enough good things about Nicki. She definitely cares about the pets that she works with. She was quite knowledgeable and explained everything that we needed to know thoroughly. Whatever they are paying Nicki is not enough. She is an awesome employee that knows how to quickly put panicked pet owners at ease. Waited four long hours, they treated six dogs and two cats went ahead of us even though we were there first. When asked the front desk if we were going to be seen they said they will always take more critical dogs ahead of us, we could wait all night till the sun came up and not be seen. They said to see a vet tomorrow. So we traveled over an hour to get there waited for four hours and drove home over an hour without being seen. I have always chosen Care Center in Blue Ash, Ohio for emergency care for my Dachshunds but after the extraordinary care I received during a recent ER visit to MedVet Cincinnati I will be reluctant to ever take my dogs to any other emergency vet other than MedVet of Cincinnati. My oldest Dachshunds was just 10 days post-op from back surgery when my other Dachshunds collapse at my feet. I was so sadden to find that my Zeak had fallen gravely ill due to Pericardial Effusion. Zeak had no signs of heart issues prior to this incident on November 19, 2022. I took Zeak to MedVet around 6:30 that evening and he was kept overnight for observation by their cardiology team. Although, Zeak's prognosis was not good and passed away the next day, the staff at MedVet were exceptional. I want to personally thank all of the staff at MedVet but particularity, Elaine at the front desk, Cristin, Brittany, Rebecca and Dr. Kathleen Beekmann and the entire cardiology team for your compassion and well wishes for Zeak. Zeak was such a happy tail wagging 12 year old dachshund. The pain of losing Zeak is still very difficult but I will always be grateful for the compassion that the staff of MedVet shown not only for Zeak but for me. Thank you!!!!! We took our frenchie here a few times due to some neck issues. For the most part, it was an OK experience. Recently his neck got worse, and we had to take him to MedVet because our Primary Vet did not have any appointments at the time of his neck injury. On this visit, they informed us of our option of a MRI, which is pricey, so we opted for meds to see if we could get his pain under control. The doctor was, ok, but not really showing any concern for our dog. The Vet Tech that came in to go over his medicines seemed a bit clueless, and nervous in a sense. Anyways, we took him home. A couple days go by and he wakes us up in severe pain. My husband called MedVet and they suggest we bring him in, which we did. I understand being busy, but they actually act as if they don't have time for you. There is only 1 front desk girl that was helpful, and her name was Sarah. She was very polite and answered all questions and if she didn't know, she would find out. He gets back to the exam room and Dr. Krugle explained everything that was going on with him. She was the best Doctor we encountered here. She suggested a MRI, and this time we had no other choice, and Billy is so young, only being 5 years of age, we opted for the MRI. They kept him overnight for observation and to administer pain meds via a IV. They transported him up and back from Columbus for the MRI and found a severly herniated disc, and we agreed to have the surgery ASAP and they did it the next day. The surgery went well, and Dr. Schwartz explained in detail what she would perform and the recovery period. I give this place a 2 star due to the lack of knowledge of the front desk and some of the Vet Techs. When we dropped Bill off for his MRI, the front desk girl came around the counter with a leash to put around his neck, my husband told her he had a neck injury. Wouldn't you think they would know this? The whole time we have been going there with him for this neck issue they told us to only USE A HARNESS. Which he had on! She tried to wrap it around his bottom half of his stomach. My husband told her to just loope it through his harness, which she finally did. I don't believe they let the animals out as frequent as they should to use the restroom. I understand they are busy, but every time we went to visit, or even when we picked him up to take him out to pee, he peed for over 30 secs each time. We knew it was awhile since he used the restroom. They also told us he would be there at least 1 day after surgery, but they rushed him out the very next day. MedVet also claimed they would call and do a follow up to see how he was. Did not hear from them. They never called to schedule his staple removal, we called to make the apointment. When we would called, the Vet Techs seemed almost aggravated that we were calling. It felt like an inconvenienced. Amanda is the one name I remember. If you don't like your job, maybe choose another profession. Overall, I just think they show a lack of concern for the pet in a sense. For as much as we paid for this, I expected better treatment. We have had people recommend the hospital over in Blue Ash, but when Bill was in pain, Medvet was the closest. We won't be taking him back here after he is cleared for normal activity read more

Not sure about the bad reviews. We couldn't have asked for a better experience from beginning to end. Brought our 12 yr old Great Dane in because she had shattered her tibia and fibula while out on a walk. They helped us get her out of the car, and gurneyed her back to the ER. Everyone was very kind, caring and competent. Check in was fast. We waited about only 20 minutes before we were brought back to an exam room. A tech came in for medical history etc. and to get approval for pain meds and X-rays. We waited about another 30 minutes while they took the X-rays and had the Vet examine her. Sadly we found out the bad news and that with her serious arthritis and because of her previous ligament issues in her back legs she was not a good candidate for the surgery that would be necessary to correct the fracture. They we fantastic during the euthanasia process. They brought all kinds of food while we were saying goodbye that our dog of course loved. The Dr. was absolutely wonderful during the process. Great advice, expert recommendation and extremely caring and compassionate. She was great while helping our Cleo pass over that rainbow bridge. I would give 10 stars if I could. read more

We suspected our dog got into something toxic. We paid $600 to pick him up an hour later, no better than he was coming in. Took him to Grady Animal hospital and he was given much more treatments, spent the night, came out healthy and they charged us $300. I don't care about the cost, I just wanted the dog to be better. Facing a medical crisis with your pet is always going to be a devastating nightmare. The end of my sweet dogs life is not how I ever thought it would be with a sudden cancer diagnosis from our regular vet, a shockingly quick decline, and a scrambled trip to MedVet at 2 o'clock in the morning. The staff at MedVet was so incredibly kind, patient and understanding through the entire process. I wish I had caught her name, but one tech in particular that helped take my sweet boy out of the backseat as he gasped for air was profoundly warm and reassuring to me that she was only going to take him for a moment to start an IV and then he would be right back with me etc.. I needed to hear that in those moments because the thought of him being alone or scared had me physically sick. She brought him right back and even transferred him again from the gurney to the floor with me to make him more comfortable. These small gestures and words helped me know that he was in the care of people that truly genuinely love animals. The rest of process to end his suffering was incredibly empathetic and kind. Everything was done to make sure that he was as comfortable as possible until he passed. They were very comforting and understanding with my hysteria during this nightmare. While I hope to never need their services in this way again, I would recommend this MedVet location to anyone facing any situation with their pet. They treat these babies with dignity and kindness. read more

I took my cat to my regular vet for what I thought was a hairball, but on an x-ray, a mass showed up. After an ultrasound and fine needle aspiration, they suspected fatal pancreatic cancer but recommended I consult with a MedVet surgeon. Dr. Schwartz agreed to surgery and while it was pricy, the cost matched what my family vet estimated. It turns out it was just a rare, oddball infected abscess, which she was able to remove and my cat is back to normal. The staff was lovely, kept me informed, and Dr. Schwartz was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. read more

Highly recommend MedVet! They were able to take my cat as a transfer from our primary care vet for more intensive care after she was stabilized by our amazing primary care vet. Dr Della Ripa took over and helped get my kitty back to as close to normal as possible. They allowed me to visit every day and kept me updated with calls and texts which are priceless when you can't be with your fur baby. I think a lot of people comment about long wait times and expensive bills. I felt I was kept in the loop about wait times and bills from the start and understood there were more critical animals that needed care before mine, and intensive care is expensive. Part I I believe MedVet has mistreated my dog and it led to her death. I'll try my best to base this review on facts, rather than emotions, reason why I waited a few days to write this review. My dog, a 15 years old terrier mix (mutt), was having a hard time swallowing and breathing. Multiple x-rays and exams at the family vet didn't identify anything wrong with her. After almost dying 3 times chocking with food, we once again took her to the family vet and this time around the x-ray showed a mass in her trachea. The vet warned us that the mass location would make very difficult to remove it, but depending on what the mass was, other treatments could be explored. The family vet said we would need to see a specialist. This visit happened on Friday (03/11) On Saturday (03/12) morning I called MedVet in Cincinnati to schedule an appointment for my dog, but the first appointment available was on Wednesday. I mentioned the dog was having trouble breathing and the receptionist said that I should come to the emergency and I wouldn't have to wait until Wednesday. We drove to MedVet and my dog was admitted at 10:16 AM. My dog went in, walking on her own and alert, only with her heavy breathing issue due to the obstruction in her trachea. The purpose of taking her to MedVet was to get a better picture of the mass (ultrasound, CT, etc) and hopefully treat it. They did the initial exams (vitals), they thought her temperature was a bit low (it was super cold that day) and because her breathing issues, they put her on oxygen, which we were ok with. I was told that the doctor was going to see my dog, however it would take between 4-6 hours, so we were advised to leave and wait for a call. Please note that on the Visit's Summary, it was noted that my dog was "Alert and mentally appropriate". I received a total of three calls from the VET on Saturday. One to say that he saw her and asked questions about her current medications, didn't provide any news and said the dog was stable. The second call was to let me know that they recommend a CT exam, in which she would require anesthesia and because of her age, they would like to coordinate that with surgery, in case a surgery was the best treatment. Since my dog was stable (words from the VET), they would wait until Monday. Then I was told I needed to make a deposit of $2,600, because her weekend stay would cost between $2,600 and $3,100. Around 5PM I got another call from the doctor, saying the blood work didn't show anything of concern, just a little alteration on her liver numbers, but an x-ray was going to be performed to ensure her organs were ok (please note that the family vet had already shared with them the x-rays from Friday). During this call, the VET did tell me that he spoke to the surgeon, who recommended further care with Internal Medicine or MedOnc, because based on the location of the mass it wouldn't be removable. The doctor told me that my dog might needed to be intubated, in case her breathing changed. I was a bit confused about this, but honestly thought it was protocol, because the VET said, I'm not saying that's what we are going to do, I'm just giving you a heads up because in the E.R. things change. Again, because my dog is in stable condition, waiting for a CT that it's supposed to happen on Monday, I'm not concerned. I got a call around 5:40 AM (would had been 4:40 AM if the time had changed), and a different doctor told me that my dog woke up in distress, was releasing a substance from her mouth mixed with blood and they were going to try to calm her down with meds, but if didn't work, she would probably need intubation. Because the doctor asked me how far I was from MedVet, I decided to head there immediately. As I was leaving the house, I called the VET to let her know I was on my way and I asked her to not intubate my dog. My dog had the habit of panting when she was excited (even as a puppy), so we just thought the doctor was overreacting. My husband and I were actually planning on bringing her home. When I got there, I found my dog, unconscious, breathing with her mouth opened and releasing a pink gooey substance from her mouth, her eyes were open, but she didn't know we were there talking to her and touching her. She was also shacking uncontrollably. At that point, my husband and I decided to take her out of that misery. I'm convinced my dog was overdosing. That all said, after receiving the medical records, I'm shocked at the amount of pain killers and sedatives that was administered in my dog. She was barely 34 pounds (15.4 kg) and didn't have anything to eat while at MedVet. Continue in Part II read more

In 2023 an oncologist at medvet misdiagnosed my cat with a cancerous mass of the abdomen. He felt around it, took my cat out of the room for what I assumed was an ultrasound, and then pronounced that it was certainly cancer and the next step was an incisional abdominal biopsy to see what kind of cancer it was and how to treat re surgery, rad, and chemo. I even called this guy a few days later to ask if he was sure it was not a fat mass (lipoma). He was sure. I decided in favor of quality v. quantity of life re my cat's final months especially since the surgery and treatment could potentially have shortened his life as well. But something did not seem right. My cat has been healthy, happy, playful, and active the last year. It's just that his belly is getting bigger. I took him to Harris and Lewis oncology in Milford for a 2nd opinion. Dr. Lewis did the ultrasound right in front of me and said it was fat. She did a fine needle aspiration of the area which she looked at on a slide, also in the room with us. Conclusion: Fat. My question is why did medvet not offer to do that fine needle aspiration - a procedure so minor that my cat barely noticed it, even with no medication at all. Something is not ok at medvet and I believe it has to do with their private equity owners' business model. Or it was a very arrogant oncologist. Or both. (I'm shocked this happened, TBH. They have been excellent on end of life/euthanasia care.) read more

I went to Medvet with my 12 year old Golden retriever on Sunday at 11:30 AM She is leaking from her adobomen and literally had fluid gurgling out of a large open wound. She had been to the family vet twice and had these wounds come up all the sudden a few weeks ago. They asked me to go home and wait for that call while they did more critical cases, since she had a steady heartbeat. We did that and waited no call not even through the night so I called Monday morning to see if we were still on the list. She said we were. 1:10 PM we got a call saying to head up they would see her when we arrived. We did and waited until 7 pm. They never would acknowledge she was so Ill she laid there and drained all over the floor for hours and I cried in horror. They finally offered a bowl for water around 6 pm after I purchased one from the vending machine. I realize critical cases come first but my dog lay suffering and can not get up and down without help. When I left they just stared at me and I handed them the leash they gave us to use instead of our own back and said thank you very kindly -they said nothing back and just kept on like I wasn't even there. So for 2 days I've been waiting with the dog or at Medvet and just like that...they oils have cared less. The expectation they set and what they said versus what happened was completely opposite. I've had some horrible experiences and I'm very patient but this was the worst I've ever had in my lifetime. My dog does not eat or sleep but heartbeat was good for a 12 year old. The lobby is closed (I assume because of leftover COVID rules), so you pull up in your car and call. Someone then "triaged" my pet, and told me they'd call me with an update in an hour. After six hours, they called me back and told me they'd see my dog in a half hour--about the length of the drive from my house. After waiting for 90 minutes in the parking lot, we called. No response. A half hour later (90 minutes after we were told our dog would be seen), someone called to apologize for the delay, blaming things on a "shift change." At that point we had gone somewhere else. There were only two other pet owners there at the same time, and both of them appeared to wait indefinitely for seriously ill dogs. An open lobby, any attempt at communication, or a scheduling system (or some combination) would solve what must be one of the worst customer service experiences in the city. We wasted 3 hours, including driving, for nothing. I might say: "only take your dog here in an extreme emergency." But given what I saw from the other dog owners, I'd take an extremely ill pet anywhere but here. read more

Was recommended to see the specialists here at MedVet for my dog's seizures. The prices were exuberant for everything. The entry diagnostic visit cost 240+ alone. To do any testing beyond that would pile on hundreds more - testing that his primary vet was already performing for a third of the price. I had to reiterate this many times. For the $240 assessment it was recommended that I add a new medication to my dog's assortment. I ordered through Chewy as instructed and they denied filling it when they called me and determined (again) that I would be working with the primary vet for other medications. Unprofessional. Unsympathetic. Unhelpful. Expensive. read more

The doctors are nice as far as I can tell. But the receptionist/woman running the phones for inquiries and questions is EXTREMELY rude and unconcerned. First I ask her if they carry a medication that my dog needs since my personal vet was unavailable, and as I asked the question I hear her whispering to someone on the phone going "hey, hey, come here come here," IGNORING me in the process. And then she goes "I'm sorry, did you say __?", pronouncing a completely different medication. So I correct her, and then she goes quiet for a second as she looks and she goes "we don't carry it". I tell her I could have sworn I've gotten it from there before. She sighs so loudly I can tell that she's clearly annoyed (for what, I don't know. I certainly am not the problem because I've been polite and calm this whole time). So she starts rattling off the medications I have gotten there before and so I go "oh, okay. Thank you-" I was prepared to ask further questions to see if there's something possibly that could have been done and she just hung up on me!! That's not even the worst part. When I called back, I could hear the phone line click, like someone answered, and then I got hung up on AGAIN. Presumably by the same woman. So she had acted annoyed and had a rude tone the entire time she was talking to me, ignored me in the beginning to talk to someone near her, and when I said "thank you", she hangs up without so much as a "have a good day". She was extremely unhelpful and unprofessional and if you're the first voice a customer talks to for questions and concerns, that is NOT how you act. She acted as if I was bothering her but it's her JOB. If she talked to me in person that way, she'd have hell to pay. read more

I have been conflicted about my review with this facility. I work in healthcare (with people) so I can empathize with a lot of the practices taking place here. The staff was incredibly friendly within the facility and so compassionate. It was a long wait for a lot of things (we were probably there 7 hours total), but I know there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes that can amount to the long wait times and so I was graceful about all of that. The vet was extremely compassionate and sensitive towards myself in particular because I was not handling the bad news very well. Very patient and accommodating but also keeping her boundaries and composure as a provider. My gripe is with the payment practices and also the back door departure and animal pick up for an animal I JUST made the difficult decision to put to rest. I understand the idea of us having to sneak out the back exits as to not disturb and frighten other patrons with their ill animals. It's the fact that we stood in front of the animal pick up doors for a long time and encountered multiple employees leaving their shift hee-hawing about their day and gossiping as we are standing right there grieving for our loss. We were not acknowledged by this staff and it was honestly uncomfortable and off-putting during our grieving after we just had to make a very difficult decision. Please teach this staff that they should show some tact, professionalism, and sensitivity for other people's loss in that designated area right outside your doors in that specific perimeter. Also the "ok pay now before you leave"- I get that you need to be paid for your services. Does sending out a bill after the initial shock of abrupt loss not work out anymore? Do you guys have a bunch of clients in collections that forced you to implement that practice? It's a bit tacky and tasteless. Besides this, I felt like the cost we paid was very reasonable considering everything that was done. Again, drastic greats and terribles with this place. However, they seem pretty transparent about their prices (if you ask) prior to services being rendered. I'm sure some of my complaints have to do with the guys up in the castle and not with the employees within the facility themselves. I just think it is very odd that you are met with a lot of compassion at first, then kinda feel like you are kicked to the curb during the hardest part. That is my two cents as a young healthcare professional trying to provide constructive criticism on your establishment and practices. read more

Best experience in the worst situation! From the desk to the surgeon who helped my Maddie dog, I couldn't be happier with the staff at MedVet! They are friendly and it's obvious they care. I have used two other emergency vets in the area and they did great with my pets -- but I did not feel like I did at MedVet. They made me feel like Maddie and I had been clients for years. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! WAITED 9 hours before my dog was seen. (Why did I wait that long? First time should of known better) 9 hours and 500 dollars later my dog was still sick. 2 weeks later here I am having to get him tested again (Elsewhere of course) . Also they took stool sample and never called back. Complete robbery. Very disappointed. Never again. Doctor saw my dog for maybe 5 mins prescribed medicine and sent us on our way. 9 HOURS LATER. Took good care of our puppy after an overdose of meds, however, they made us call the pet poison control line to get advice on how to treat the dog... Shouldn't they already know how to take care of these situations. It was an extra $85 to make that call. read more

My puppy and I were treated horribly last night. I brought my puppy in for treatment and staff came out to examine my puppy and told me to park in one of the spots. I sat outside with my children and sick dog for 3 hours! No one came out to follow up with us. When I called to inquire about my puppy being seen I was left on hold and while still on hold a staff member came out and told me that my puppy is not allowed to enter the hospital because she is not vaccinated maybe I can go to another hospital and see if they have different protocols. They are a hospital, couldn't they have given her vaccines? I would never go back to that establishment again and would advise anyone that I know with fur babies, not to patronize them either. They do not prioritize the care of the animals. read more

I took my beloved, but ornery German Shepherd for surgery after he tore his ACL. I cannot say enough about how kind, compassionate and competent his care was! Sarah B deserves a special shout out! She went over and above to make sure my difficult, fear aggressive dog was comfortable and calm. Dr. Chow, anesthesia, gave excellent care and also made sure my boy was safe! I feel so very fortunate to have Med Vet in Cincinnati! It was obvious that Charlie's well being was their first priority! read more

Around midnight the other day our dog started shaking uncontrollably with her eyes rolled back into her head. we thought she was having a seizure so we rushed her here because we know it's 24/7. The staff here is so friendly, you can tell they all genuinely like animals. They were petting her and giving her treats. The wait time was really long because at midnight they drop down to one doctor. It wasn't too crowded but everyone in there had a dog with a pretty extensive needs. We sat there for a few hours before they sent us home saying they believed this was an isolated incident for now and that they didn't want us to wait even long for them to run blood tests, especially if nothing was wrong. I appreciated that they weren't going to do things just for the sake of doing things. They did see our dog briefly when we were there to give her a quick check up and to make sure nothing was wrong with her that we could see right away. It's good to know this place is here no matter what time of day! read more

So far incredible. Our wonderful dog had hip surgery. Apparently we noticed his suffering just in time to avoid total hip replacement. He's a pup so the surgery performed gives him a wonderful chance at a great life. He deserves it. And the people at Med Vet have treated my family incredibly. He's recovering still, but very well so far. I know every situation end's different. And unfortunately for some, the loved animal doesn't always have the best prognosis. I'd have given five stars but our pup is still recovering. I think he's going to be fine. Thank you med vet for helping our dog. read more

Best care available. They saved my dog's life when everyone else said they didn't know what else to do.

Dr Wright and Dr Dela Ripa are treating our senior dog for a heart murmur and hypertension. They have done so with grace and heart.
