First off, the location was not what was pictured on Yelp. It is inside Tiger Banh Mi in an area that felt a bit sketchy. We ordered the Icy Grass Jelly Signature, which should have included taro balls and grass jelly, but instead received the hot version with red beans, boba, and grass jelly. It seems the employee entered the wrong order, and unfortunately we did not realize it until we got back to our hotel. Overall, it was not a good experience. We do not like red beans and the bowl was filled with them, which made the dessert unappealing. Grass jelly will always be a dark brown jiggly suspect in my eyes. That said...I discovered shaved ice with strawberries and I am SOLD!! I did ask for 1/3 sugar and I still felt it was sweet enough to give me the diabeetus, as Wlford Brimley would say. Preparation of treats takes times (our niece and nephews boba were actually prepared fresh so it look roughly 15 minutes for them to be served. All in all, the establishment is clean, inviting, the touch screen ordering system was pleasant and efficient to use, and the overall experience had by the family was one of immense satisfaction. This has become a family staple. We were so excited to learn they'd be coming to Portland (we'd had it several times in the Bay), and even more excited when they moved to Hillsboro!! My family will literally plan dinners out to somewhere nearby so we can hit up Meet Fresh for dessert. And I'm so glad they updated their hours to close at 9!! Only downside is the remodel.. it's a bit more cramped for seating, but it makes sense that they have more space in the back to work. Between the 4 of us, we usually get 2-3 items. We came here on a hot day this week for a cool afternoon treat. This location just opened and it used to be Noodle World (RIP). The space itself is small so you can see everything when walking in. All tables were occupied when we went but luckily another small group shared their table with us. It looked like they only had 2 people working the whole time between all the orders and they were doing their best to keep up. The guy at the register was patient with us despite being so busy and was helpful with the recommendations as it was our first time and all the choices can be very overwhelming! We also got a free iced jasmine green tea with our order this time! What a pleasant surprise! We decided to order the Q mochi & caramel pudding milk tea shave ice, medium size for $15.50 that was the perfect potion for us to share. (The large is only $1 more and it looks significantly bigger lol) The shave ice had brown sugar syrup and condensed milk with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The four corners had different toppings including almond pudding, caramel pudding, taro balls, grass jelly, and pieces of chewy mochi logs. The whole dessert really worked well together in both flavor and texture, and the best part is that it was not too sweet (IYKYK). I am a huge meetfresh fan. I came on a weekday around 2pm and was the only people inside. I wanted a mango bingsu but they were out of mango. Sooooo sad. I got a strawberry shave ice and added sago. We watched them prepare several orders for customers who arrived after us while we continued waiting.When we asked why other customers were receiving their orders before us, the staff told us that those were smaller orders and that ours was "too large." I don't consider four drinks and one dessert to be a large order, especially for a dessert shop. The same thing happened to a larger group ahead of us, who were also left waiting while later customers were served first.The experience was frustrating and gave us the impression that order size mattered more than serving customers fairly and efficiently. I hoped it was just a new-business growing pain, so I decided to give them another chance.During my second visit, my sister-in-law was placing our order when the cashier stayed on her phone the entire time. She barely acknowledged us, seemed uninterested in taking our order, and came across as rude.I've had the Hot Red Bean Signature dessert at other Meet Fresh locations and enjoyed it, but the quality at this location has been disappointing. I would highly recommend getting the black sugar boba milky shaved ice if you enjoy brown sugar, caramel flavors. It came with a scoop of ice cream, boba, and flan. Although something to note is that this particular flavor took longer; it was at least 10 minutes delayed compared to the other two shaved ice flavors we ordered. I was more interested in their drink but I was also able to try other things that my friends got. I got their iced oolong milk tea, half sweet. It was good and quite a lot so I actually drank the rest the next day. Very rare for me to leave it overnight at home lol but it was still flavorful and not too sweet. My friends got the following to share: 1. Thai iced tea shaved ice: there were so many toppings and stuff inside aside from the shaved ice. Each part was pretty good but as you keep eating and as it kept melting, it got pretty sweet. 2. Hot thai tea tong sui (direct translation sugar water haa). This one was less sweet and the tapioca pieces were nice and bouncy. But still on the sweeter side and kind of weird drinking a bowl of thai tea haha. 3. The bubble waffle was okay, I can't find any bubble waffle better than Hong Kong (haha). 4. Mochi pieces were good and chewy, I think there were roasted coconut flakes on top which added extra flavors and textures. This place was my figurative Great White Whale. I'd had a shaved ice from them at a summer market last year, and it was absolutely life changing to be completely honest. I've been searching for them ever since and was thrilled to see they opened a location and I happily made the hour drive out to Hillsborough. Really great shaved ice! This is a franchise, and I remember trying it years ago in California. They have an impressive selection of shaved ice, plus boba drinks and other small bites. It does get pretty crowded, but the experience is worth it. We ordered the Black Sugar Boba Milky Shaved Ice, and it was fantastic--topped with black sugar boba, red beans, black tea sauce, caramel pudding, condensed milk, and vanilla ice cream. You can't go wrong with meet fresh. Literally my favorite dessert place and so glad it's finally open in Hillsboro. The great thing is the consistency with the flavors- everything is so good. But this location still has A LOT of kinks to work through. Namely that we waited for 33 minutes after we placed our order only to be told that they ran out of one of the main ingredients of our order. Waiting is absolutely expected and frankly, part of the experience but running out of ingredients should not be a surprise AFTER the wait. The business owner Tiffany is the same owner from the former downtown Portland and Tanasbourne locations. This location is combined with Tiger Banh Mi so it could be easy to miss. Got the double taro signature, it was alright, I know Asian desserts aren't that sweet but I wish it was just a touch sweeter. It was sort of bland. The milk tea with the mini taro balls, I got for free for checking in on Yelp. But when I tried to ask for it the worker was a bit rude & it felt like he was brushing it off. I had to ask the other worker there if maybe they were still working on it & then she made it for me. The milk tea flavor itself was good. Nice & strong. The mini taro balls were good as well, very similar to normal tapioca boba pearls. The best thing we got was honestly the strawberry smoothie which I wasn't expecting. It was super delicious. The jelly on the bottom added a nice texture. The space is very spacious & had lots of tables. I wouldn't say it was cozy or inviting though. Just like an eat & go place. I enjoy going to Meet Fresh my to go order is the icy grass jelly signature with an additional flan on top. There are chewy taro balls, herbal jelly, and refreshing herbal grass jelly shaved ice. I like to pour the complimentary coffee creamer in, it add such a nice creamy taste to it. I haven't try their drinks yet maybe next time! I was suspicious of getting a large at first but honestly it went down super easily and we destroyed it. The texture contrast between the chewy mochis and milky shaved ice made it super fun to eat. We waited a while for our orders but since it's only their second day and they were packed I can understand and forgive it. The almond drink was sweet in a good day, almost coconutty. It was also very hot when we got it so it stayed hot for a while. The shaved ice was huge and so good. It had fresh strawberries and the strawberry sauce on the ice tasted like it had real strawberries in it too. It was refreshing and very filling. The store was new so it was pretty clean and organized. I didn't check the bathroom out but I'm sure it's fine. When I heard that Meet Fresh was coming to Portland, I was SO excited. It's the perfect dessert spot when you're craving dessert or something cold, but don't want something really heavy (AKA the Asian dream of a "not-too-sweet" dessert shop). The inside of the shop is big and very clean, with lots of seating. But! If you happen to go on a weekend, or a busy time, there might not be enough seating! They have a pretty big menu, ranging from jelly and tofu desserts, to sorbet, to egg waffles, to boba. You can order at the kiosk or the counter here and there's also an app for in-store rewards (it's pretty easy to rack up points quick)! My go-tos are the grass jelly desserts and the egg waffle, but everything is great. A recent favorite has been the sorbet series, which I highly recommend. And, the bingsoo is also amazing, but just keep in mind that they are REALLY big and easily serve 3-4 people. read more

We got the Taro paste volcano shaved ice, original waffle, mung bean cakes, and 3 bobas. We also got a free taro cake milk tea for checking in on Yelp. We got a medium, shaved ice and it was quite a bit to share for three people loaded with a bunch of toppings like red bean, taro, a lot of condensed milk, and more. The ice cream was nice and sweet. The shaved ice could use a bit more condensed milk but that's my preference. I got the fluffy wintermelon and the cheese foam thing on top was very good and sweet. went on a Saturday afternoon and it was very hot, they keep doors and widows open so it got even more muggy and humid inside. Would have been nice if they kept AC running as summer approaches and weather goes 85-90F easily. Long line and again in humid weather and can see they're super hectic with orders that when they run out of toppings it takes time to make order. We ordered mango shave ice (NOT WORTH IT) since it's seasonal and simple so thought we give it a try. Think they were running out because we barely got any mango sauce and mangoes as compared to the previous order. I was very disappointedddddddddd when I went to pick up the order that's $18 and such small amount of toppings. Photos on their menu definitely did not match. I instantly felt like Wailua shave ice was even cheaper and gave me more toppings and if was going to cost $18 they would load it up more. We have tried Meet Fresh in Federal Way and they're much better in quality and speed and freshness. We had their grass jelly/tofu ice bowls things with taro mochi balls etc. Think It is a great idea they're in Oregon now. personally feel they would get even more patrons if they opened up in Washington Square mall, it'll be indoor and AC can operate and no need to worry about finding parking in Downtown Portland/Chinatown area, the areas are very dirty and foul smell on the streets. I was excited when I find out that we were getting a Meet Fresh here! I hopped over from Xin Ding across the street to get my dessert fix. We got the Icy Taro Ball Signature and a Passionfruit Sorbet C (which has the Melon Jelly, Almond Pudding, and Mini Q). The taro dish really packed a fresh taro flavor in the variety of toppings it had. I especially liked the Potaro Balls which also had black sesame balls included. The taro paste (looks like a scoop of purple ice cream) was good and taro-y, but the taro balls and potaro balls are gummy.
