Impromptu dinner tonight with my adult children. I had been wanting to come here for a while so I was happy when my daughter suggested it. Our server was wonderful. Came on valentine's day weekend and it was packed. My husband and I had wanted to try this place for a while. We were greeted and sat immediately. The restaurant has its own small lot and is located right on Route 17.You have to the option of doing hot pot or crab boil. My husband and I didn't know this and we're in the mood for hotpot this day. They have a rotator belt that moves along the ingredients for your hotpot, like revolving sushi, but we sat at a table away from it. The server just brought us our ingredients, which we didn't mind. We chose mushroom broth, wagyu, bok choy, enoki mushrooms and rice cakes as our ingredients for our hot pot. We wanted milk tea and boba but we were told they ran out of ice. When I asked for it again, because our server made it seem like they were getting more, she returned to let me know there was no boba. This was the only bummer of the night because everything else was amazing! But that's okay - we just went to a boba place afterwards for dessert - (shout out Roll Thai'd on Park Ave, Rutherford!) The place is clean and has some unique features. There are neon signs, such as the hotpot guide giving you directions on how long to cook the meat and veggies as well as a prayer corner, which you rarely see and I thought was very inclusive! Meet has a really cute conveyor belt in the middle of the restaurant that brings over an array of different choices of food for your Hot Pot. They have many things on the belt ranging from different types of noodles, mushrooms, seafood, greens, tofu etc. the main menu is filled with lots of meat and seafood choices. You can choose to eat individual hot pot bowls or have one big pot that everyone shares out of. Even if you aren't interested in Hot Pot that day, they have a variety for seafood for a Cajun Seafood Boil if that's more your style. Over all, I'd say this place is really worth going to. We were excited to try this spot but were not thrilled by our dinner experience. Our server was nice and attentive but the food and the price tag was quite a let down. We did the 3 soup base special with chicken and picked up a bunch of plates off the conveyor belt along with some Yakitori. That yakitori is modern day robbery with the tiniest piece of Chevy meat. The chicken portion relative to price was quite dismal. The Al carte conveyor belt plates were tiny in quantity as well. We liked the broth etc. but $75 bucks for dinner and still feeling hungry afterwards doesn't make sense. I'm going to preface this by saying that there are a lot better Hot Pot options in NJ ... Garden Shabu in Little Ferry NJ and Shaburo in Pal Park NJ. I will not comment on the seafood boil as I believe such food items should be left to restaurants specializing in that item instead of trying to do everything that's "trendy". The service, our waitress is friendly enough until she was looking at her phone in the middle of the dining room, airpods in one ear and chewing her cuticles... They also autogratted us due to our party size (which is okay) and then the lady in the front proceeded point to the tip line. You should be happy I'm not disputing the grat. The food sucks. Plain and simple. You're getting AYCE quality at a premium price. The value is just not there. Examples include - $3 for 6 halves of fishballs. (yes halves... they thawed machined processed fishballs and SLICED IT IN 1/2 and charged $3 for the 6 pieces) $4 for 5 CANNED quail eggs - yes we can taste it right away. The broth was spicy but no depth in flavor. $2 for a 1/2 of serving of noodles is insulting. They burnt my scallion pancakes - you know most restaurants just remake it right . Is this place a front for something? They do not have a sauce bar and you cannot request additional items to make your sauce (NO CILANTRO!). Like that is part of the hot pot experience... who didn't get the memo? Just because Hot Pot is currently trendy doesn't mean everyone needs to open a hotpot restaurant. I was excited to see this spot open but then when I finally went here, I was extremely underwhelmed and disappointed. This place offers hot pot and seafood boils and you pay a la carte. There is a parking lot out front and we didn't have to wait long to get seated on a weekend. Service was mediocre. My server was hard to get a hold of at times and we have to remind her to get us some waters when we placed our order. We asked for extra napkins once and she haphazardly placed it on top of raw meats (didn't even bother to check if it was properly placed down around a table of RAW items). Now we only tried the hotpot and knowing there are SO MANY better hotpot places in North Jersey makes this even more disappointing. You pay for the pot (individual versus big for a group) and soup base and then you order meats or they have the revolving belt for the other items. The a la carte items are definitely pricey for the amount you're actually getting. I understand why most hotpot places are AYCE to get your money worth because the portion size to price you're paying here is truly appalling. Also you don't get a sauce bar-- they bring out a small portion of spices and sauce for you which is even more underwhelming because one of the big point of hot pot is to be able to pick your own sauce and drench your meats and vegetables in it. The sauce and spice portions they offer was very minuscule. The meat skewers though were pretty delicious and you can choose spice level. The big tables seat up to 8 people and if you are seated at the big tables, they are away from the revolving belt so you have to solely order via a check-off menu with the server. Overall, I'm not sure I would come back again as this initial experience was underwhelming. Also, you can get much more delicious hotpot meals that are more worth your money in other places near by tells me I'm better off not coming back here. read more

Last month I was in town for a convention over the weekend and I was staying at a hotel off this road and I noticed this hot pot restaurant when I was driving around. I stopped here on a Friday night because I wanted some Ramen. This is a small little nook restaurant that has a little food conveyor belt. There's noodles vegetables, seafood, and other things on this conveyor belt that you just grab it then throw it into the hot pot or the Ramen pot. The surface was good and the food came out quick. I ordered some Ramen that came out up with a pot with this red liquid seasoning along with some hot peppers I like spicy stuff with this was way too spicy for me. I was only able to take a few bites and then I had to order a plane Ramen. But if you like spice, I highly recommend to get the spicy Ramen. You will not be disappointed. What happens when you try to do everything all at once? Well the answer is Meet Hot Pot where you can experience Hot Pot, Yakitori, Cajun seafood, noodle shop and boba tea cafe all in one place (I'm sure I'm missing other types as it's an extensive menu). And yes, you've guessed it, it doesn't do anything very well. But, the food wasn't bad and this might be a good option for a large family that has multiple interest. I personal would not come back as there is a higher quality and cheaper option for all it's trying to do less than a 30 minute drive radius. Also, I really don't know why they included the food conveyor belt. Place looks ok but could have more room to seat people if the conveyor belt thing wasn't installed. I know it's a recent trend but it just doesn't fit. Also service was slow. They did warn that the seafood would take 30 minutes which is fine but it took 15 minutes to bring out a pot with broth, raw veggies and frozen meat. Usually at other hotpot places this only takes 2-3 minutes. I also got my drink about 45 minutes after ordering it. You'd think this would come out first. Overall, this place is suitable for many people who aren't pretentious like me. I mean I hate the Cheesecake Factory because of the exact same thing but people love it. As an avid hotpot lover, this was probably the WORST and most DISAPPOINTING hotpot experience I've ever had. Our "server" (pictured here) NEVER greeted/introduced himself to us and would blatantly ignore us while serving the 3 other small tables he was assigned to. We would try to politely flag him down multiple times, but he would just walk past our table and look over us like we didn't exist. Because of his unprofessionalism and inattentiveness, we had to constantly walk up from our tables to ask the kind lady who was working at the cashier to give us bowls/utensils, take our order, and serve the food we ordered off their paper menus. He even doubled down and would communicate with us via the cashier lady, which I thought was pathetic and hilarious at that point. Furthermore, the vegetables and seafood we had ordered for our hotpot never came, and was still in "queue" after over 20 min of waiting. Had we known it would take that long, we would've just taken the food off the conveyer belt instead of ordering via their menu that was given to us at the beginning. Because of the long wait, we decided to cancel everything we ordered. Overall, the hotpot was mediocre at best, and probably the only best thing on the menu was their fruit teas. Also, there is no make-your-own sauce station, which is one of the essential parts of hotpot that you mustn't leave out. All in all, we anticipated a one-of-a-kind experience, but ended up leaving with a sour taste in our mouths. Please hit up Garden Shabu & Grill, Cast Iron Pot, and Cap't Loui (all located in NJ) if you want a legit/amazing hotpot, bbq, and seafood boil experience that has fast/efficient/attentive service, delicious quality food, and is more bang for your buck. We will NOT be coming back and will now go shower to forget this terrible smell from this dreadfully awful place. read more

We came here after snowtubing in Warwick Mount Peters and then came here for hotpot as this is the only revolving hotpot Cajun place around our area. Drove an hour to try the place and it did not disappoint. Even my 4 yr old gave it 2 thumbs up. We like the atmosphere, the decor very simplistic and cute and the star of the show - the revolving belt of food choices. It does need a little more variety in the vegetables, the fish/meat balls, but overall, it fit our needs. The individual hotpot was the icing on the cake. We loved that we each got our own. The flavors was predictive and welcomed. The sauces, was prepared for us which I loved. A complaint by some people online that they couldn't get their own sauce, but for me, I enjoyed that someone plated my sauce and prep everything for me. So it's an individual preference. Visited again. I sat facing the Kitchen on the entrance side. I ordered the sliced beef and sliced lamb. Couldn't tell which was which, but both were delicious in any case. Ordered tofu, two types of mushrooms, spinach, and a $5 bowl of Kimchi. That was excellent. Added a bowl of cucumber slices (not for the hot pot,) a bowl of fried tofu, and a bowl of some sort of greens -- all from the conveyor belt. About three or four times, a robot from the kitchen whizzed by on the top of the divider wall between the conveyor belt (a loop) -- loaded with raw meat for other tables. Much faster than the conveyor belt speed -- weird and unexpected -- but no issue. I drank ice water and my glass never reached half full. There must have been 7-8 refills during the 50 minutes I was there. Must have been the spicy broth I selected. Clearly, my waitress was attentive. She was very friendly as well. This is definitely one of the most pleasant "dining alone" restaurants I have patronized, due to the never ending parade of bowls scrolling by -- punctuated by the raw meat trays -- and visits by my server. Note that if you have a big party more than 6 people, you will not be able to be seated by the belt. I suggest you break up your party to 2 tables. The revolving bar ensured we could almost always grab what we needed fairly quickly as well. Our server was also great with refills and things like that. The cons: for me, a sauce bar is essential to hot pot. I want to make my own sauce and you don't have the option here. They do give you some sauces but its not the same. There's also a less options than you would get at other places. For example, I have ordered watercress at every hot pot I've ever been to but thats not an option here. I was driving along Route 17 when I noticed this restaurant! It looked so promising and the entrance was sooo cute!! There were the cutest keychains and toys up front at the cash register. Dining here was a really pleasant experience. I really liked how inviting the restaurant felt with all of the lights. All of our food arrived quickly and it was so tasty! Ok....my family likes to find delicious food at fun places. It was my anniversery and my kid is doing great in school. My kid finds this place on TikTok so, we go. The food was OK, although I've had a lot better. It's a little pricey but I wasn't disappointed until the manager/owner tried to charge me a credit card fee of $4.90. After swiping my card, he came back to the tabel and told me he needed my pin number. I got up to put the pin in and told him that he can't charge me a fee if I'm using debit. If it was a credit card swipe he can actually charge me a fee. He tried to tell me he would refund it but, I told him no and asked him to ring it up again because I had not put the pin in yet. Listen, if you need to beat me out of $4.90, I never coming back again and I'm telling everyone I know not to go there. You can't charge the customer a fee on a debit charge but you can on a credit charge. He still charged me the 1% merchant fee that the company charges him. SMH!! We will NOT be going there again because the service is terrible, a little overpriced for what it is, and not many customers in here when you pull up. Usually a tell tale sign. returned here on saturday, aug 23rd with the hubby and my twin boys. we were seated immediately and walked past a couple and a family. the couple just had their food delivered. i assumed the family had their food too. another couple came in and was immediately seated as well. after looking over the menu and deciding what we wanted we waited for a server or anyone. the guests i mentioned were the only other guests in the restaurant so not "busy". while waiting i noticed that the man who sat us was at the register doing idk what. he was clearly and with purpose not looking in the dining area to see the family, my family and the new couple looking around waiting to order. then i noticed there was only 1 other person working, a female in the kitchen, which you can certainly see into to verify she was the only other person besides the man at the register. she was darting around frantically but doing what idk? we waited some more seeing the restaurant was perhaps "short staffed". however, the guy at the register continued to look down and never in the dining area. the new couple was looking around with the same look of shock i felt as to what was going on. no one explained that the restaurant was "short staffed" or that anyone would be assisting with anyone in the dining room. just arrive, shown a table and left there to be "ignored". after 30 minutes of waiting and no one explaining what the waiting was due to or for, i gathered my family and we just calmly and quietly got up and began exiting the restaurant. we walked past the other family and noticed they also had not been served and were still waiting (to order, to be served?). as we walked out the door the man at the register said in an almost inaudible tone "thank you for coming". not going back. i can wait if you are short staffed, have kitchen "issues", etc. but to seat my family, give a menu and then leave without saying literally anything else to never return to our table to get drink orders, get any order, inform us of a delay in service, etc is unacceptable. read more
